"those strings aren't for bringing it up... They're for holding it down."
Moments later the mummy is pulled up by said strings
Those chains were meant to suspend it in the mercury pool which pulled it after Nick severed the anchoring chain making the counter weight pull the coffin up.
@Elysia Duncan wait you said it already I didn't noticed that I think I saw some nonsense like chains holding stuff down which is physically impossible. And let me explain it clearly the coffin was litterally hanging down the chains. The idea behind it is probably to make it suspend in the pool of mercury.
Why suspend it when you could just drop it to the bottom so no one could easily bring it up by simply breaking a (rather flimsy) chain
@@user-sc9oy1kz8g maybe guys who did this imprisoning thing wants to make sure the coffin is completely surrounded by mercury.
@Elysia Duncan Toxic feminism at its finest. Comments saying more or less the same thing happen a lot on the internet and nobody cares except the likes of you. And who told you that the "mansplainer" was actually a man? That's sexist... You're banished from the order of the SJWs!
"can we just leave", why no one listen to that guy
The guy with the most common sens gets to die first XD
My sentiment is exactly
Probably because he just went Rambo on some camel spiders.
And he's Nick from New Girl
Nooo one listens to Nick even though he's the most relatable
Every adventure/horror movie has atleast one such guy.
I kinda wish he lasted longer in the movie: he would’ve been a better comic relief if he stayed alive longer.
Jenny’s Logic: This isn’t a grave, it’s a prison (continues to list all the reasons why she knows it’s a prison)
Also Jenny: I want to see what’s in the pool
Ahstia Summers
Indeed, very contradictory. :)
Girls, in a nutshell, basically.
Nothing wrong with that. We don’t think of the supernatural as fact. So if you go on a journey to find something, find that something hidden in what you think is a prison it won’t change the fact that you want to see what’s hidden. People don’t go to Egypt and expect for ancient mummy’s to come to life. This is a perfect example of human curiosity.
Jenny's logic: let's get experts from Cairo to carefully explore this incredible archeological find THE RIGHT WAY. also, DONT TOUCH ANYTHING.
other guy's logic: let me steal the sacred artifacts from this ancient burial prison.
Nick's logic: No time left? No problem! guess I'll just shoot it
Other guy: * gets bitten by a beetle * * starts randomly spraying bullets, almost killing his friends *
Almost the same with the so called expert from Prometheus who decided to play with some unknown dangerous creatures
4:00 He says "They're just camel spiders." Well speaking as someone who deployed to Afghanistan when I was in the U.S Army, I can tell you from experience that those things have excruciatingly painful bites. Being swarmed by hundreds of them could probably kill a man, the ones in this scene are much larger than the ones I saw in the Middle East too.
Right?!
I dont think the director had any idea what a camel spider actually is
Even other camel spiders hate camel spiders
@@tacticalministries3508 they never do.
there bite can't even break human skin
@@killme7820 Then clearly you don't know much about Camel Spiders. The entire reason why their bite is painful is because their jaws are strong enough to tear human tissue.
@@valoredramack9117 Thank you for your service. I’m sorry you had to suffer for the stupidity of our politicians.
If you bite it and you die: Poisonous
If it bites you and you die: Venomous
If it bites you and no one dies: kinky
If you bite it and you don't die: Food
If you die and it bites you: Ghoul
Lol the comments are more funny than the movie.
maybe he thought he is going to eat those spiders after shooting them LOL !
Who else was rooting for the Mummy in this movie?
MOOFAMDEEZ..I WAS THRU THE WHOLE MOVIE
Me
MOOFAMDEEZ literally everyone 😂 why did he stay with the blonde when he could rule!? That I will never understand.
To be honest i was rooting for the first Mummy aswell.
Me my friend i'm rooting for the home team.
The mummy without Brendon Fraser, is like top gun without Tom Cruise.
BladeRicsi Agreed, but I think it’s more like “Mission Impossible” without Tom Cruise.
😂
Jason Bourne without Matt Damon, a.k.a, Bourne Legacy.
No
Should have said ...
The Mummy without Brendan Fraser is like Top Gun .... with Brendan Fraser 😂😂😂
Jenny: "This isn't a tomb, its a prison."
Sylvanas: "This world is a prison!"
Jenny: This isn't a tomb...
Boromir: ...it's a mine!
Jenny: this isent a mine
General Ackbar: ITS A TRAP
Billy Corgan: "The world is a vampire..."
This ain’t a tomb it’s a god damn arms race
"You thought this was a tomb, but it was I, Dio!"
That is gorgeous...first flowing robes, then painted toes and painted hand and she is beautiful
I love how the flowing linen give you a glimpse into the past. It’s allure
,
Kk
I can't deny that despite her being a mummy, she is still beautiful in my eyes.
Mama Baer no she’s not😂
Say what you want about this movie, but Ahmanet was gorgeous.
Ok so what
liked her in Star Trek too
@@jarrodedson5441- I agree. She's very beautiful.
Have to admit that is true Ahmanet is no furry or neither just body of a human, head of an animal(yes I'm a furry but I don't were fursuits)but she still more beautiful then the blond chick
But is she Anck Su Namun gorgeous? 🤔
So, not only is Ahmanet sexy, smart and powerful, but by being her chosen you become the avatar of Set, the god of deserts, storms, chaos and all sorts of other fun things. In other words, choose Ahmanet and you're (wait for it)... SET for life!!!
that joke is underappreciated by these cave dwellers
r/dadjokes is leaking again.
It's dumb that he gets possessed but doesn't function like a 'vessel'. He just basically got a power up. 🤦♂️
Cool joke. Although if someone did not like your joke, they could say 'a new biz' joke.
That's a Dad joke. It's full groan.
Movie would've been infinitely more interesting if Nick would've decided to run the show with Ahmanet. It would've gotten a sequel for sure.
@Brian Waas Yes yes, I know all of that. It was trying to get in on the success the superhero franchises were making, but even then, no movie ever starts with the intentions of having a sequel. If it smashes records, however, producers see it as a low-risk, high-gain venture.
There would've certainly been a Dark Universe franchise, but that wouldn't have stopped a second Mummy movie. It's the same with the MCU. The Avengers was the primary story, but most of the superheroes had their own spinoff stories and sequels to those stories as well.
Definitely
Spiders rise from the tomb
Pool dude: Can we just leave
Blonde girl: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
MORE LIKE: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???!!
(The guy should have said that to her)
Honestly with how the movie was going i was actually cheering on the munmy chick. Because she was the best part of the whole movie
Me too. She was stealing the show every time she's on screen.
The moment when u think the mummy is more beatifull than the blonde
Ahmanet is beautiful, I would've gave in to her
Ah Manet indeed more beautiful then the blonde
The mummy is like a 4, the blonde is a solid 10
And whats so wrong with that?
That’s Necrophilia.
Oh look its not a tomb its a prison lets free whatever the went to so much trouble to lock away ...
Kingdome Cthulhu
Yep they just released the hottest mummy ever, idiots
Kingdome Cthulhu lmao right? They did whatever it takes to hide this body and they still took it out
Well they are mortals, eventually they touch the unknown to find answers that were never there O_o
Lol!!!!! someone get that damn!!! emergency!!! awesome!!!! button ready; oh shit boys here we go!! get ready!! (haven't really seen movie just having fun writing .)😁
The only thing I love from this movie is Ahmanet herself... DAMN SHE'S SO STUNNING
The only way to watch the movie: Dont think, just enjoy.
Anjelica Darby exactly
Anjelica Darby - and put the volume up real loud because DAMN THEY MUMBLE SO MUCH IN THIS MOVIE.
The only way to watch = don’t 😂.... The Mummy with Brendan Fraser.... so much better.
I agree 100 percent.
To hell with political correctness
I like to think a little in watching.
I loved how the scenes speak for themselves.
Meh...I prefer the imhotep and Anak Su Namun version
Same
erica ongute I agree the old ones are the best
erica ongute and this mummy really wasn't that good
Don't we all
Fun fact: This flick was originally going to be another sequel in the franchise with Brendan Fraser. Except the O'Connell's were going to be in Latin America fighting an Aztec mummy (whom was going to be played by Antonio Banderas).
"We need to make a prison"
"Ok what shall we do to make it safe and secure?"
"lets create a canter-lever that lets her out"
"sweet".
Maybe thats used to lower the coffin inside but idk why would they set it like thhat
"But let's hide it well so no one finds it for a couple thousand years so she'll be someone else's problem"
"Noice!"
When the cast first revealed tom cruise i was really surprised he'd do a mummy movie , and i felt that Hollywood deeply betrayed brendan fraser because the mummy was his stamp on Hollywood
Haven't seen this, but Ahmanet looks pretty badass.
Thanks for your lovely like and comments on my official page, it's great to know I have such a devoted fan.
Much love❤️
“Those strings aren’t for bringing it up they’re for holding it down.” Shoots rope and the ropes start to bring it up.
Ropes would have rotted eventually.
If I was Tom Cruise I would have just gone with Ahmanet lol.
if was Justin i would have just gone with
Jennifer Lopez lol.
Same
Ahmanet and Ankhsunamun are both wife material: "I GIVE IN."
Oh thought she’s anacksunamun?
No they hell they ain't lmao, One cheated & Murdered her Fiancé and the other one Murdered her own father and half-brother 😳😩😭🤣🤣🤣 them chicks are CRAY CRAY to the MAX
Ankhsunamun did not love imhotep good enough to actually go and save him... she would just leave you behind
Me too. I volunteer. I’ll turn to the dark side!
@@christophermartin1096 Yep. Neither of them are worth what Imhotep or Nick put themselves trough going after them!
Nick was enjoying a moment until the blonde chick interrupted 😑
5:25 god I hate that when you're having hot dream but some jerk wakes you up
All the scenes involving flashbacks are awesome. It is a mirage I don't wanna escape from 🙌
but they repeated them too much, always the same shots
I feel the same way.
they should have made an alternative ending where he rules with ahmanet and they being back imhotep and anksunamu
Should’ve stayed with Ahmanet tbh
That’s necrophilia.
She didnt want HIM
The sarcophagus rising was an amazing sequence & the reveal (liquid mercury dripping off + a golden sarcophagus) was memorizing.
I think I just fell in love with this mummy ❤️
Damn it nick! Ahmanet is the hottest mummy you could have encountered with🙈 you could even rule the world forever with her💯😂
Nick is a dumba*s.
it was a tough choice for nick: the hot mummy (who would have also given him godly powers) or the hot blonde he had a one night stand with...he choose poorly
Who else wants ahmanet in mummy 2??
How can you say no to a Mummy that looks like that?
So, uh, why didn't they cut all the chains after putting her in there so she couldn't be brought back up so easily? Why leave a winch system designed to lift her right out of her prison in place if they wanted to make sure she couldn't escape?
they could have destroyed her body and deny her an afterlife.
plot
Don’t think about it
So the movie could happen.
re birth, bruh... life in prision is inhumane
Mission impossible: mummy protocol
The best scene of the whole film.
Love this movie.
Hai. Can you share the whole movie?? I really need to see this..juju
Nick dont even think about it !!
2 mins later : Fires a bullet at the rope 🤦🏻♀️
This scene was just them stating what it wasn't then what it actually is. "It's not a tomb, it's a prison"
"Thos aren't for holding pulling her up, they're for holding her down"
Honestly the movie and the whole universe they tried to barf at us was so dumb, but this scene detailing the whole tomb complex was AWESOME levels of creepy historical aesthetic
Man that mummy is pretty hot
Ahmanet made one hell of an entrance
The Mercury pool would have evaporated over time. And yeah Firing randomly to kill spiders. Lmao
My dude, this is a movie in which a fucking mummy is brought back to life, fucking angel of motherfucking death (Seth) possessed the main character, there is a fucking organization for keeping away evil, the main character has powers no one can imagine ect. DO YOU THINK WE FUCKING CARE WHETHER THE MERCURY POOL EVAPORATED.
lmfao!
Christian Montana yeah it is toxic. But I don't think the vapors would kill instantly. They will damage the body slowly
The mercury pool wouldn’t have evaporated. Active mercury pools are still found in Egypt surrounding tombs today
Notch SkythekidRS. I Live You
I love Ahmanet. I would join her in the Underworld/be her chosen just to be with her. Ahmanet is the reason I bought this movie on DVD.
Love it. Wish they'd make a second one
If the movie had focused more on... Ohhhhhhh I don't know..."The Mummy"!!! Instead of that "anti-monsters" organization, it would have ended faaaaaaar better!!!
oh yes
Yes, the Jekyll/Hyde character and all the rest are superfluous and just slow the film down with tedious, unnecessary detail. I've watched the film again by skipping through those parts and it improves it no end.
Always wondered if those who trapper her really didn't wanted her to ever come out, why did they make a way to get her out in the 1st place?
spiders are not poisonous tom cruise... they are venomous
Desirée Rodríguez I see hahahahahahah
Lol much better and I was worried there for a minute
All venoms are poison by definition.
Vlodec but dolphins aren’t fishes...
Desirée Rodríguez is the same
Team up her and imhotep
clayton schiller anakhsunamun will curse us all
clayton schiller imhotep !imhotep! 1999 mummy
the is so sexy
Haha
imhotep would destroy her
why couldn't they just leave it here - Tom Cruise set a hot chick free and lived a long life with her somewhere in Colorado happily ever after!
😂👍
Lmfao bravo
Shark with freakin' laser attached to his head your name is way to funny bro😂😂 and original lol good name
@@andrewmoya8832 Despicable me

The dude that ends up marrying Sofia in the future will no doubt be one of the luckiest bastards on this planet. He better treat her good.
Movie was fun Tom played a sleazy character and he played it well
Maybe he wasn't acting.
5:20 - 5:40 ... That moment when you realize a 3,000 years old chic is hotter than you... Haha! :-)
Their diet is healthier than us.
Thanks for your lovely like and comments on my official page, it's great to know I have such a devoted fan.
Much love❤️
She is hot, but Patricia Velasquez was incredible
Iván Chavarre Both are!!
Iván Chavarre anacksunamun ftw
Both are
Both are are
Sofia boutella is hotter
Awesome scene!
"This isn't a tomb, it's a Prison" does not typically lead to the logical conclusion of "Huh, maybe we should see what's kept in this ultra creepy prison meant to keep something super scary and dangerous away from everything.
Well maybe that's because dead people don't come back in real life. She was completely reasonable to disregard it.
4:47 is like a perfume commercial 😂
The Mission Impossible: Operation Mummy :3
Why did they invent a mechanism to free her in the first place?!
plot device? pun intended
If MCU gonna cast anyone ever for Mistress Death, they should cast Sofia Boutella, she's just perfect for role of Mistress Death.
Great story and great actors.
Brendon Fraser is only actor set for this mummy movie series. No one is better than him. Miss u man.
Love this scene!
Damn she is sooooo gorgeous omg
This movie by itself wasn't bad but it is compared to its predecessors-despite its flaws, this scene and tomb design were super cool. Very mysterious and mythological but unfortunately this is the only time in the movie it feels like that
"Those strings arent for bringing it up."
*shoots one string and brings up sarcophagus*
I shall rise from my own death to avenge Her❣️ my passion for freedom will set my people free. 🖤 and so it is done ✅
At least Brendon Fraser's mummy was fun, this movie put me to sleep
Ugh I know they should’ve made this about anacksunumum
@eating sugar no papa sorry tried watching several times but kept falling alseep
Jus a theory, but ahmanet could possibly be somehow related somewhere to Ancksunamun or Nefertiri from the first two Mummy movies..hmm 🤔
Hmm it‘d have to be Nefertiri since Nefertiri was the Pharaoh‘s Daughter and a Princess. AnckSuNamun was just the Pharaoh‘s life guard :D
Luna Music life guard? Maybe but actually she was supposed to be Pharaohs wife lol. & ancksunamuns backstory wasnt completely told either..she could've been royal or at least from a rich family.
The funny thing is that Anck suNamun in real life was born 1000 years after the real Imhotep XD
There's a movie theory it's set in the same universe as the Fraser mummy. She goes back before the scorpion king
There's a scene where the book of the living appears briefly
Be with the honey that died a few thousand years ago.
She smart😎😋
Question: “WHY, would they build it with the ability to be brought back up if they wanted to keep/hold it down. You would think they would have buried it for good without the ability to ever surface. In stance, it’s what some would call lazy writing.
yes i love the mummy and the mummy returns but,, i also like this movie. i think its great. lowkey want a sequel
Can really see how young Tom looks by just a few years.
“They’re not even poisonous!”
Me, and intellectual: Yes. Why would they.
Not Poisonous? Food... *Starts eating handfuls of Camel Spiders
Jenny: Those chains aren't for bringing it up; they're for holding it down
Chains: Lift up sarcophagus
It’s 2021 and I am watching CZcamss recommendations. I remember when this movie came out and Universal was trying to cash in and catch-up with Marvels success. I didn’t really care for the whole “Dark Universe” idea, but to Tom’s credit he made sure he had final say on the script and the editing and the previews.
Interesting concept! I'll have to watch this movie after all.
Since when do chains hanging upwards hold something down they are used for winching
Brilliant question...!
The counter weight that was hanging before nick shot it. Kept the coffin submerged as long as the weight was supported.
Daniel but weights work by using the force of pressure they have from heaviness not from chains holding them there chains are for winching the weights up
darkmster 6 Yea your right man, didnt even see the weird chain placement.
darkmster 6 the giant box like thing was heavier than the coffin so when the box dropped it carried the coffin up
Like how the ropes on those pulleys lasted all those centuries without rotting.
That "ok" at the end hit deep.
Tom Cruz is such a self impressed dope! :-D Even his most dramatic moments just come off as comical.
The Mummy 1999 (Trilogy) is wayyyy better.
Brendan Fraser was my guy Rick O'Connell was amazing 😍😂
...i wish I was Tom Cruise at that moment... Lol
wow really excited to watch this movie (i never watch movies)... very excited already opening sound is exciting
Classic scene
Me: "Mum, can we have scarabs in the new Mummy film?"
Mum: "We've got carnivorous creepy crawlies at home."
Carnivorous creepy crawlies at home: 3:34
This man just kissed a smoking hot ancient Egyptian goddess. If you say you haven't lived after that. Backhanding that man would do no justice.
Love this movie
Original mummy: *Got released due to Evie being too curious and impatient*
Mummy reboot: *Got released due to Tom Cruise being Ethan Hunt on a mummy expedition*
Great movie!
I love this movie
Nick Miller, always getting into some wacky adventure looks like The pepperwood chronicles 2 finna be some FIRE
Im amazed Tom ever got to make another murmured vie after this. That how bad I thought it was. He should thank his lucky stars for the M I movies
I give a Twinkie 200 years. It still looks good. Some old women been stuffed away in box for 2000 years.. She ain't going to no prom!
Great Film
"This isn't a tomb, it's a prison."
Then maybe you don't want to unlock it, eh? The Ancient Egyptians were very big on making sure their funeral rites were done properly to ensure a proper rest in the afterlife. If they built a tomb where it was not done properly (canopic jars, sacred spells, guardian statues), it's a good indicator that whoever is buried there was not very nice in life.
Isn't it weird that the frill on the sarcophagus is similar to the jeeper creeper monster
How? Hooooow did they ruin this movie? The whole dark universe isn’t happening because of this lol
This is just my opinion mind you, but I really don't understand why this flick gets so much hate. It is NOT a remake, it is its own movie with its own characters, story line, etc. The 1999 "The Mummy" as awesome as it is, isn't even an original in its own right! In fact, it's a remake of the 1932 movie starring Boris Karloff. As for historical and mythological inaccuracies, well when has Hollywood ever been known for complete accuracy? LOL
That being said, here's a fun fact: The 2017 "The Mummy" was originally going to be a continuation of the franchise with Brendan Fraser, with the O'Connell's in Latin America battling an Aztec mummy (whom was going to be played by Antonio Banderas).
