What's being overlooked is that having guys available and healthy is the equivalent of adding players.

The reason they can’t make any good trades is bc this front office has been below average to say the least for 5 years minus 2020 which they blew up. Allowing that Russ trade is tip of the iceberg ( tho it’s one big iceberg). They are horrible at working the margins. Putting player options on contracts for players who are barely in the league, letting guys like Caruso walk for nothing, etc etc

LAL trades to BKN: DLo, Rui, JHS, Wood, & a protected 1st.
BKN trades to LAL: Cam, Sharpe, & Schroder.
LA improves their perimeter defense w/ Cam & Dennis, Dennis is a ball-handler to replace DLo, Cam is historically a better 3PT shooter than Rui, & Sharpe is a big-body center prospect.

After a full month of "pearl clutching" by fragile "fans" , it's refreshing to hear a reasonable assessment of the Laker landscape. You got the coach fired, a new one hired, and now you're mired in "aprons" by your patrons, and now your screaming like Cinderella, who lost her fella! Calm down and see what works. Stop being jerks!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 5? I understand being an homer, but what the heck are you talking about ? There best players played 82, 76 and 71 games and they were a 10 seed dude!! that’s not happening again just based on their history. Adding an healthy Vando he is a complete 0 on offense, oh yeah Max Christie what did he do? No evidence that he’s even good. Crazy, 2nd or 3rd by getting who? They have what assets JHS😂😂😂 Gabe Vincent 😂😂😂 who and why would anyone want those guys.Man I was coming here because of the knowledge boy was i wrong! Yall gotta stop lying to the fans or you just don’t have an clue about basketball. Thanks for the time.

Speaking of knowledge....u need to update yours... The Lakers were #8 seed last season and won 47 games and were couple games out of #4....
They might've got there but for our "Ham headed" coaching and some critical injuries to role players.
But yeah, one point you're perhaps right about is that LeBron and AD were relatively healthy which is iffy to repeat given their history, age and coming off a busy Olympic summer.

      1. I would push back against being a homer. I’m as critical, if not more, than most that cover the team on a daily basis.
      2. This assumes that the Lakers played the right players last season and were maximized from a personnel standpoint. That’s incorrect. Taurean Prince played far more than Rui and Vando, which was a clear mistake at the time and was proved once they swapped in Rui and the team took off.
      3. They don’t have much perimeter defense, but their two best perimeter defenders, Gabe and Vando, both missed over half the season. That compromised their defense, to an extent. Not saying they would’ve had a good defense, but the drop-off to the other options was steep.

Becuase he’s better than dlo/ar/gabe combined 😂 thats why. Not a liability on defense. Which those guys are.

Previous failed transactions by rob with derozan, hield, trading kuzma, and trying to get them now is affecting their interest in going here. Jeannie should wake up and fire rob. Nobody wants to deal with him.
