Just received this yesterday for my V1 leap chair and it is SWEET! I took the opportunity to lubricate the chair with another video on this channel. It looks and feels like a brand new chair! And the cushions are (no exaggeration) 10x more comfortable than my highly used chair was. It took a bit of work to get the back pad tucked into the lower sleeve, but again there was a nice clear video on how to do it here. These guys have their act together.

I purchased a leap v1 highback with 4d arms. it's my favorite chair for 10 minutes. it quickly becomes uncomfortable due to the old, inadequate padding.
How have your cushions from crandall held up? Yesterday, I wanted to purchase this for my v1 highback, but I decided against it because only the seat foam appears to be brand new virgin foam. Only for the v2 does crandall offers a thicker version of the back padding in brand new virgin foam. I was disappointed to see and couldnt find any information on whether the back padding for v1 was brand new foam or reused from older chairs. I'm sitting in a Gesture that I bought at a good price from the same seller. So I'm not sure it's worth paying an additional $200 more for the crandall cushion replacement. Thanks.
It seemed brand new to me. it was firm and clean. It's been about a year and it still feels new. The color is vibrant and it's still comfy.@@SensationsRim

Maybe Crandall would be willing to ship it to a nearby UPS Store, and UPS could ship it to you. You could try calling a UPS Store near Crandall. (Of course, if it's damaged during shipping, Crandall wouldn't be liable for it.)

Just a heads up to any new people looking to get this "upgraded" seat cushion. While better than OEM it took only a little over a year and I am back to sitting on the plastic of my chair again. This padding even if it's OEM padding does not hold up to the rest of time. Very sad as I love this chair otherwise and I even spent 160$ to get this new seat cushion /:

Don't know if it only applies to the V2 stools, but mine didn't even come with foam in the back, it's just really thick non-woven fiber matting that's been cut and stapled to follow the curve of the backplate. Currently testing to see if I can get away with just a steam refresh to reinflate the OEM seat foam, but definitely will be considering one of these replacement pads if it pancakes out like my V1 seat did.

Are the back pads for the v1 highback brand new? I was looking to order replacement cushions but noticed that only the seat pad was brand new virgin foam. Thanks.
Just the seat pad is brand new, however the back pad does go through the steaming process which sanitizes and rejuvenates the foam quite a bit.
Just got my chair. All great however the backrest pushes forward. Is there a way to keep it in place as it feels like its pushing me off the chair everytime i move forward?

Sorry we don't have this option for the leap plus, this is a different pad and different tooling than what we have.

Do you mean custom as far as the thickness of the pad? We can't customize the thickness but we definitely customize the fabric and other facets of the chair.
Does it make you sit higher up due to the additional thickness and, if so, how does that impact the lumbar support placement?
Great question, the amount of thickness that is added is minimal and wouldn't effect the lumbar support or any or the ergonomic features.

Is it possible to request the original padding the Leap chairs come with rather then the thicker custom foam you generally add to your refurbished chairs, if we want something not as plush/to feel the frame more? I didn't see an option to decline the custom padding on the purchase pages, but is it something you can arrange on request when ordering?
If you put in your order that you would like the thinner pad instead of the thicker pad we can accept that request. Just know that we don't have brand new OEM pads that are thinner.

I am researching a new desk chair as my old ones severely aggravates the arthritis pain in my right shoulder. I keep coming back to the remanufactured Leap V2 because I like its features. Would you recommend this chair for someone with pretty severe upper back/shoulder issues that has to lean forward for drawing on graphics art tablet? I have it bookmarked on your site. :D
Out of all of the chairs we have, this chair has the most padding for your back. So if you feel that more padding would help your pain i would definitely suggest getting the leap v2 with the thicker back pad.

how does this impact breathability? The back seems more comfortable but less breathable than the original foam.

Debating on amia and leap v2,.... both having new additional foam, which chair offer the thickness seat pad?
The Amia doesn't have the new thicker pad but the V2 does and the V2 is 3/4 in thicker Than OEM

Great question, no it doesn’t. The pad itself is very contouring to the plastic shell that it is attached too. The plastic shell and the actual back of the chair is going to continue to give the same ergonomic features as it did before.

Does this new foam have air pockets somewhere like the original one? The original leap seat cushion have air pockts in them to distrubute weight better according to steelcase website, its called adaptive bolstering, here is a video for reference: czcams.com/video/ugtS9zrPqeU/video.html, the video is for gesture, but leap should have the same air pockets implemented.
The OEM seat pad does not have bolstering that's like the gesture. We made our pad exactly to OEM specs just a smidge thicker.

@@CrandallOfficeFurniture It is listed in steelcase leap shopping site, check the seat ergonomic section, also if you search steelcase official doc: Steelcase-Seating-Difference-Training-handout, you should see a 2022 doc mentioning leap having adaptive bolstering, I also seen a 2015 doc that doesn't mention it, so i wonder if its only for newer version of leap made from 2022 onwards.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. At the time of tooling the seat pad we modeled it after the current OEM pad at the time. We are doing more investigation to see what that new bolstering looks like.

Great ergonomics, but the seat padding is really disappointing. I'm around 110kg, and after about 4 months of use the padding of the chair is mostly...not gone but it's nowhere near as comfy as before, with my butt constantly feeling a bit of pain. It's definitely a firm seat in the first place, but still, needs more support or thicker foam to be honest. At least you can take the seat apart and get it reupolstered, but that's just an extra cost on top of an absurdly expensive chair. Get one second hand for half the price and re-do the foam if need be.

USA Only, called them, no service available for Canadian, they wont even sell me the seat or cushion, i guess they dont need customers, very disapointing
