I needed to remove the base from the seat. What a useless video.
You should be less rude. This video is useful to pack the chair. Removing the base messes up with the hydraulic system.

Any tips to get the gas cylinder out. It is not budging, I'm tearing the thing to shreds trying to get it out.

I replaced the cylinder on my Teknion Contessa and now it just completely sinks down when i sit on it. Do you have a tutorial for that? I hear there's a set screw that needs to be adjusted but I can't find any video of it.

@@CrandallOfficeFurniture Cringing on you using a metal object too :) this chair looks really cheap compared to the leap. Crazy it's more expensive. I can't believe how thin the backpad is and lack of lumbar options.

Received mine, badly designed. The bottom part of the back of the chair hits the headrest support. It limits the chair movements when you lay back in it and will break. Show it with videos to Atlas and they will answer that it is normal... Buy it if you want, but know that it will limit and file the plastic...

Haworths at Crandall! Excited to see this. Do you think you'll be able to get into re-manufactured Haworths at some point? I've only seen maybe 2 places offering re-manufactured Ferns and they're $700. My budget is more in line with a re-manufactured Leap v2 but I really want forward tilt.

where have you seen re-manufactured ferns (and do they replace the seat cushion)?
@@thewhitewolffl OHR has one style of Fern in stock. They steam the original cushion. Although they've now changed the description to say forward tilt isn't included. A couple weeks ago they claimed forward tilt was included on chairs with black aluminum bases. Also some contradictory information on the product page on whether they offer 5 year or 12 year warranty.

It took me less than 1 minutes to assemble it and after a few minutes of adjusting I cant believe how long I have gone without a real office chair in my life. I tried so many different chairs over the years including super expensive office chairs from brick and mortar stores and even "gaming" chairs. None of them even come close. Thank you so much.

I'll give this a shot! Any reason you recommend using silicone WD-40 instead of white lithium grease? Looks like steelcase in the past recommended the white lithium grease
We've just noticed that this process has worked well for us in solving the majority of issues. The only one we really don't recommend is regular WD40 on carpet surfaces because it can stain the carpet.

Pipe wrench does NOT work for Winrise WR-999 model chair. Once gas cylinder is attached to seat base bracket, it is permanent. Only total annihilation of the cylinder would get it removed. So, viewers, please note that this cylinder removal tip is only for select types of chairs and not all.
F*ck you. There is clips on most chairs. Do not follow this guide, it will just damage your chair. Edit: I tried on 3 different office chairs. The actual fix is needle nose pliers remove the pin and let gravity let it fall out, it's so fucking simple. If it wont with gravity, then use a rubber mallet, not a fucking sledgehammer 😂
I bought one of these chairs from Crandall Office Furniture about 1 1/2 years ago and it was a fantastic experience! My chair still appears new and is working perfectly. I highly recommend purchasing a refurbished chair from them because you'll save a LOT of money and they offer a 12 year warranty.

Yes the hammer can damage the old cylinder as far as cosmetically but not function wise.

could you make a video on how to fully remove the original headrest
So the headrest can never be fully removed without potentially harming the chair. The metal piece that holds the headrest will still be there and really the only thing that can be removed is the headrest pad.
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture I do not understand. it's not metal, and the arm of the headrest is attached to the chair with four screws that can be opened from the hole in the back. I have only a problem removing the plastic part from the stem. the one that is not attached to it with screws . height adjustment lock part
