What do you do if the arms forward and back motion are super stiff? Would removing a washer help this?

I just took both arms fully off of mine. Was messing up my posture by leaning heavily on one of them most of the time.

I actually want mine that tight, I dont want them to move. How do I do that? lol

Just the other day I went to lowes looking for wave washers for this reason, could not find them. Grabbed some slightly undersized rubber washers, now my arms are toight like a tiger. Kinda wish we could lock them.
Actually, rewatching the video I realize mine did NOT have the wave washers under the actuating plate. I installed my rubber washers on the top side, adding onto the wave washer at the head of the screw.
