When a company says free 30 day returns and we will give you a label to send it back, I will buy from them straight away. It means they are sure that these products will work well and if you get the odd issue they will also help you. Good customer service will get you far like Amazon. HUGE shout out to Kim at Crandall for helping facilitate a custom Guilford TopShelf J626 fabric re-upholster job on my now 22 year old V1 Highback! It looks like your Bioknit fabric is similar to the TopShelf fabric. It feels MUCH more comfortable and softer than what came on my Leap.

@@mattpanz609 Nope. Ha! Seriously though, I was expecting the type of normal wear on the plastic components that they show in this video. I looked over every square inch of my chair and found nothing and no obvious areas where they covered anything up. Even the legs where people tend to rest their feet. My chair looks and functions like a brand new chair but for half the price. It's not often a place exceeds your expectations so when you find a place that does you have to sing their praises.

Just got my refurbished Steelcase Amia today! So far I'm very happy with it. My only minor complaint is that it's pretty squeaky, but I'm sure some WD-40 will fix that. I appreciate having a nice chair that I could actually afford. Thanks Crandall!

Question for you on the remanufactured back foam.
Do you find the thicker foam on your back foam impacts the lumbar support strength compared to the thinner foam from steelcase direct leap chairs?
Good question - the thicker back pad definitely makes a small difference in the sliding lumbar, but I actually like it better - it softens up that hard plastic sliding lumbar piece. We modeled the new V2 back after the V1 highback molded foam back, which also had the same lumbar, so it was originally designed with that thicker back in mind, we just brought it back after the back pad on the V2 got thinned up.

Alright... I was won over today by a few things, the transparency, the cushion upgrade, and the Amazon Prime code. I have VERY high expectations for this item as Im in major need of a new chair. I really wanted a chair with flip-up arms but they do not really exist in great ergo chairs. Now the wait begins...

@@CrandallOfficeFurniture received chair but I think it's broken. The seat height level doesn't move so it not able to push the lever on the gas tube. 😭😭
What is your personal opinion of the micro suede option on the remanufactured leap v2 compared to other fabric options?
This was my personal favorite of the bunch, and what is currently on my chair right now. In fact, this was not originally an option we were going to offer until I completely fell in love with it and made sure we offered at least one color. We will be doing a video on all of the new upholstery options soon (but wanted to get all of these launched before Black Friday), but this one stands out. It's got that suede-like feel to it, but is quite thick like a leather. It sits wonderfully!

I'm seriously considering Crandall remanufactured Leap V2, but confused by the padding. Early in your video, you describe the steaming process, which helps separate the glue that holds the fabric to the pad, but then later in the video, you describe how you don't use glue to affix the fabric to the pad, because that's how Steelcase does it. If Steelcase isn't gluing the fabric to the foam, then is it some other brand or product that does and you don't have to do this on the Leap V2 chairs?
Great question. With some chairs Steelcase glued and some they didn't. We used this process on a lot of various pads and wanted to talk about the steam box but with the new pad that we have tooled everyone who orders a reman Leap v2 gets the upgraded new pad.
What happened to that pretty purple color behind you second on the lower left? I would have ordered that.
Thanks for your informative video! I've sensed that occasionally my Leap V2 chair, manufactured in 2022, seems to sink a little bit when I shift my sitting position. It's quite subtle, and does not cause me problems. I am just wondering if this is by design, or could there be an issue with the chair?
Does it seam to move down and back up a little bit when you sit or stand? If so that is completely normal. If it is constantly sinking you may need to adjust a set screw if your chair is top activated. Do you guys also refurb existing chairs? If I have a V1 and want a new seat pad, for example, is that an option? Couldn't find it on the site.

I didn't see an option to add a headrest for the leap v2. Any chance to ever include Hawthorn Fern chairs in the future?
That currently isn't an option yet for the headrest. Anything is possible ;)
Real interesting video! It was mentioned that you guys add more padding to the back than in the original model, is the same true for the bottom? I'm looking to buy a chair, and the Leap v2 was really appealing but I heard that it can be quite firm and uncomfortable, so I was going to opt for the Amia. This might change things though!
We tooled a whole new pad for the bottom with 3/4 in extra padding.

I don't think I can reasonably send back a chair in case I have any issues / discomfort because I live in Canada near the border, and will need to have the chair shipped for pickup in Minnesota.
@@mr-goalie Our new Leap is actually just a touch thicker than the OEM Amia seat, but once upholstered, they feel quite similar, though they are a slightly different design from each other as far as the shape and contouring goes.

What is the difference between on chair made after 2020? Or is more of a personal preference on newer chairs?
Hey great question! The 2020 or newer chairs are chairs we got through the Steelcase Authorized Factory Returns program, so they have only been used for the small amount of time before they were returned to Steelcase. Functionally they will be identical, but they will have much less wear and tear on them compared to many of the chairs we get in that have been used daily for many years.
Not that I have any doubts about your techs but can I choose to have my chair transferred to the older seasoned tech instead of the brand new tech? j/k

For most of this video I kept thinking the seats directly over his right shoulder were shades of purple/lavender, but unfortunately they were blues. Any chance we could get a purple/lavender option in your BioKnit fabric? Or, is there a way to do a one-off custom order color in the same material?
Great question, and yes we do have the ability to do custom colors, but there's a pretty large quantity commitment, and we haven't seen a ton of demand for purples traditionally. Would love others to chime in if that's a color they would like. If we see the demand, adding this to the catalog is definitely something we would consider! 😊
Also the wine color has a deep purple / burgundy color that's very nice fyi

No not yet, the only way is through our website currently. You could use a currier service to ship them to you but that is pretty expensive.
