      100%. I dropped my full leathers for highend Kevlar from Motoport, game changing pants with a price tag but worth every single penny, theyve changed riding for me. There were a couple times wearing leather that Id hop off and almost pass out from the heat, that made it a very easy decision to swap over.

    I found it to be very easy to always wear gear if its very normal street wear looking stuff
    For the short hop to the gas station or commute without any highway, i wear my kevlar jeans with the integrated knee pads. My sneaker have aramid backing, ankle protectors etc. They look exactly like a normal shoe but are motorcycle short boots
    Helmet, gloves, jacket are a given

    • @langhamp8912
      @langhamp8912 Před 9 měsíci

      Kevlar jeans can be problematic, as I read an article their biggest problem is that they usually aren't full coverage of the entire jeans, but when they DO full coverage people return them as being too hot.
      And jeans really do need to zip to the jacket or else all that tender exposed flesh between jeans and jacket is exposed.
      The Marlon Brando "jeans and jacket" has become the standard that 98% of motorcyclists wear but in my opinion it will always be flawed due to the limitations of being 2 piece, light construction (so you can move around when off the bike), and cheap price in relationship to a true 1-piece motorcycle suit.

    • @someguy9520
      @someguy9520 Před 9 měsíci +2

      @langhamp8912 So... Do you have ACTUAL experience with motorcycle jeans or just read some articles?
      Either way. I have ones that are fully lined with kevlar and have knee and hip protectors. They aren't too hot, IMO. Hotter than normal jeans but very okay in summer
      You are comparing 1 piece racetrack suits to jeans and a jacket... Sorry, what?
      This is only intended for slow speed city commuting below 80km/h. Anything above or more serious i do with a 2 piece textile, full gauntlet leather gloves, quality full face helmet, full size boots. Nothin else, except the occasional 2 piece leather

    People riding around Austin with no gear are insane. The car people here can...not...drive. These people have no concept of getting in the correct lane properly and jump over 2-3 lanes to make their upcoming turn, there's too many fake paper license plates and those drivers are probably uninsured and/or no license, and there's way too many people on their phones. I commute a 125 here daily and never ride with no helmet, gloves, boots and jacket. Still working on finding comfortable protective pants that I can afford.

      Personally, I wear riding jeans and don't wear "normal" pants beneath (unless its a thermal layer). I'll wear whatever shirt under my riding jacket (plus thermal layers). I'll bring a change of pants if I'm going to an all-day destination, like work. For a couple hours, my riding pants are fine.
