    here are the reason i want to pick the XT4 over the A7III even tho it was my first choice
    One of the most important aspect for me at least is the feel of the camera, other than the "vintage look" when i went to my store to see how both felt i litterally fell in love with the XT4 handling/ergonomics (call it the way you want) it is obviously totally subjective so gotta get your hands on both before you decide to go for one or the other
    Then as you explained in this video the A7III is litterally the king of auto focus at this price point and there is a wider variety of lens which can be a good or a bad thing really quickly
    for example being obsessed with the latest tech or the latest lenses or whatever, with a reduced choice if you pick the right lenses for the job you cannot over think it
    For my lens selection i'll start with the 23 and the 35mm f/2 (for both) maybe the 16-80 (24-120) f4 that could be a good all in one lense.
    And if i ever need a wider lens than that then i'll see
    i'll also be using my 750D, wich will allow me to use my 35mm for portrait while i use an other lense on the 750D like my old 70-200 f4 or maybe a new lense who knows
    i want to reduce what i carry as much as possible and IF possible i'd like to be able to shoot most of my work with 1/2 lenses.
    and i won't even talk about long terms economy when you only buy 2 or 4 lenses max compared to the prices of most glass you can find for the E-mount.
    After that to be even more annoying, the flipping screen is something i love on my 750D so i love the fact that you have it on the XT4, the 2 SD that are the same is also a good point for the XT4
    Here is what i plan on shooting most of the time: Street photography, Weddings, Automotive, portraits, maybe a little bit of video?, landscape.
    in terms of setting i'll mostly be using the single point focus unless i do portraits (unless eye auto focus doesnt handle well even in a simple portrait session)
    panning shot same stuff, single point + Continuous auto focus and that's it you good to go
    It's actually the only review i found that was truly realistic and wasnt biased so huge kudo to you, even to this day this video is still helpfull
    Btw if i wrote all that monologue it's also to put "on paper" the reason of why i'm going with fuji cause it is still quite a lot of money for someone like me but if i want to get started with professional work that's the direction i'll follow :D
    tbh i'm sure the a7III would be a better option when it come to professional work but at the end of the day, the menus, the ergonomics and many other little details make me feel like i'm gonna regret it if i go to sony
    there is a few others but i think the main part is here :D
    if you are still reading, thanks first of all and i hope you'll have an amazing day and that you'll be able to go out and shoot, cause at the end that's what truly matters right :D have fun guys and feel free to share what you think :D

    • @SummersSnaps
      @SummersSnaps Před 3 lety

      @@davi_brt I come from a Pentax K-1, so I have been spoiled for dynamic range and ISO, but really the XT-4 has impressed me, it's enough. I still have my K-1 and medium format 645D, so for me I wasn't looking at an entire system swap, but rather just rounding out my tool bag with something a little better for AF and 'capture the moment' work. I would still use my K-1 for landscape use (and likely still would even if I had the FF Sony).
      One thing that has impressed me and that I didn't factor into the purchasing decision is the Fujisims and the rather indepth customisation it offers to providing something very pleasing SooC. This has been a huge relief to me, allowing me to juggle work (where RAW is necessary often) and 'fun' shooting whereby SooC is often enough or 90% there. Congratulations on a well balanced and informative review. I moved to the A7iii from the Nikon D500 because I wanted full frame. Image resolution is better but it's taking me a while to get used to the menu system which is way too clunky. The D500 was much more straight forward. I would very much like to see your recommendation for how best to set up the Sony with the latest 3.10 firmware update. I mainly shoot landscapes, portraits, pets and street photos. The ability to lock Tracking Eye AF for Humans and Animals is something I would really like to see.

I'm deciding between Fuji XT4 with 18-55 2.8 and Sony a7iii with Tamron 28-75 2.8. I won't need a lot more lenses for what I do. It's important for me that the camera makes good photos in many conditions and that I don't have a problem with the weather (e.g. overheating). If it's okay to ask, which would be your favourite for me? Picture quality seems to be better with the Sony. The Fuji's lens (total package with the body) is shorter/friendlier for on the go? I have a Sony A7 System (A7rii & A7iii) and a Fuji System (GFX 50S medium format). Both are highly capable systems and you can’t go wrong with either. On paper (and in your mind), the Sony usually pulls ahead and is a great all-purpose tool. The Fuji (X and GFX) systems are incredibly capable and subjectively much more enjoyable to use due to the manual dedicated buttons and dials - in particular, if you are a street shooter, you can quickly change shutter/aperture/ISO settings *before* you even turn on the camera. I picked the Sony because I have a large number of Leica lenses that I adore and after several successful projects/books/exhibitions, I’m now superstitiously attached to. If it wasn’t for that, and if I was starting over again, I would pick the Fuji X system. When I recommend cameras to friends, I usually recommend the Fuji X system.

    I recently moved to Fuji and every day I like the system a bit more. The menu is much better than many people say in my opinion (coming from Nikon).

      @James Borley Not really, sharpness is perfectly measurable, there is nothing subjective about that. There are no issues with RAW processing in the latest versions of LR. I’m using xt3 and really want ibis since I love the look of slower shutter speeds even for street since it gives a cool look that I enjoy and now I’m stuck deciding between the xh1, xt4 or a7iii since these are the most I can afford. The good thing is that I could just live with a 2.8 zoom and maybe the 85 1.8 on Sony and I’d be happy but 2.8 on apsc leaves me with a bit to be desired … meaning I’d need to go for the sigma 1.4 primes which are like f2.1 on ff making it a rough decision. I don’t find myself being in love with my camera like some other people say they are so I’m open to potentially changing systems or just bodies, however this may be due to the fact that I currently only have the 18-55 though

    I currently own an A7iii, but I am considering moving down to an X-T4 due to it being smaller, and its more creative workflow (film simulation, double exposure, dials and film camera form factor.) though, i am planning to grow with either Sony or Fuji as i buy more lenses and hope to someday work as a full time photographer. I plan to shoot portraits, events, landscapes, Astro, macro, product photography, basically everything. I want to shoot as an enthusiast, as well as a professional with my camera. Is the X-T4s smaller size and retro feel worth sacrificing the superior AF, DR, and ISO performance that Sony has, and may continue to build in the future? Can Fuji offer enough as a working photography camera for all listed scenarios with the lenses they offer now/the sensor size itself? Or will it suffer in many of the categories listed that i will be shooting due to APSC, therefor I should keep my FF A7iii and admire the Fuji from a distance.. knowing it may not be everything I need for work.
    I know there’s less bokeh on APS-C, and more grain in low light, I know that moving down to an APSC will only gain me benefits ergonomically, not photographically. Just want some insight from either you, or the community. Thanks in advance, everyone!

      @TheHybridShooter  Před 3 lety +4

      Those are very complex and philosophical questions, so I am afraid that the answer to all of them is that it depends on your preferences, specific use case and what is sufficient quality of output for you...
      X-T4 isn't any smaller though, equivalent lenses are also roughly the same size.

    • @malfunkt
      @malfunkt Před 3 lety +1

      Your Sony A7III is an amazing camera. However, it can be great to try out other systems. It's a bit like dipping your toes into Mac vs PC, except with cameras you have quite a few more options. The Fuji is a ton of fun to shoot with, especially if you are just rattling off JPEGs with the odd RAW photo thrown in when you know you might need it. If you are considering Fuji, for portrait consider the 50mm F2, the new 50mm F1 (!), KamLan 50mm F1.1 II, Rokinon 12mm F2 (for astro), or the Fujifilm 10-24mm. The older Fujifilm X-H1 and X-T3 should be considerations as there sensors are just a smidge behind the X-T4, and they can be purchased cheap. Even X-T2 is very good. Perhaps you maybe be able to keep both systems? Build a small Fuji kit with older body, a couple lens. Or just buy an older Fujifilm X100F, X100T, X70, XF10 to have a second body that is all-in-one. very slim, and that you use for fun.

      @Steve Ferneyhough They didn't just see the decline, they caused it by the lack of innovation. It is not something that just happened to them. There should have been GH6 with new BSI sensor and 5.3K RAW recording released in December 2019 alongside 25-62.5mm F1.7. That would have definitely prevented the decline and outsell the whole Lumix S line.

    I find your reviews are pretty thorough and cover all the bases. . I felt the A7 iii is a better choice for stills and the XT4 if your first choice is videos.

      Thank you! It still depends on what kind of stills and video are you shooting and your preferences.

    I’m Fuji (X-T20) user, I really love Fuji with friendly users settings. But, Sony A7 iii is fckn awesome. This video really made me confuse, should I upgrade to X-T4 or try a new one Sony A7 iii.

    Hello how are you?
    I am not a professional photographer. but photography its my passion , I am currently traveling the world on my motorcycle. and I have a Canon M50 apc-s. But I am an action photographer (motorcycle), landscape, and portrait and astrophotography. (I would like to start with wildlife too) after 2 years using my Canon. the truth I feel is slow and for action I don't like it at all. What would you recommend me? I am between the A7III or XT-4 .. for me it would be ideal to be good for everything a little. since with my trip I need everything.
    Thank you very much
    Regards

      Well, that is what this video is about. Both are great all-round cameras, so it depends on your preferences, as explained in the video.
