- I watched the 1988 film Without A Clue, starring Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley. I love films where nobody has any idea what the hell is going on, it's great comedic sense. And Caine and Kingsley are just a dynamic duo!

I first saw this when about age 13-14...my family were pretty hard up for money, and my mother had tried to take me to see the special free promotional showing of "*Batteries Not Included," We had been planning it for weeks, as it was a rare chance to see a theater movie...but we arrived after all the seats were claimed. So my mother, bless her heart, asked itf there was anything else I wanted to see, and I chose this one. She had no interest in 'olden timey' things, and even less in trying to understand British accents (unlke myself, who was a veteran nut for Monty Python comedy by then) so she mustered up the money, I know not from where, and we both saw it...She didn't love it, I guess, but I sure did, and it's always remained one of my special favorites--as have all the cast.
Firstly, I LOVE your channel. You always make me smile, so thank you. Secondly I love your reactions to these films, your humour is just superb and I really wish you were my best friend as I’m sure we would have an hilarious time on nights out. Love the channel and much respect.
OMG, thank you! :D Glad I can bring some joy to your life :D And thank you for watching! :D
Like your channel and especially your reactions. At 12:55 you were almost in unison with the actress in saying "oooh" in reaction to the villainess getting knocked out. haha
I recommend the private eye comedy movie : Private Eyes. You will laugh and groan and laugh again.
WHAT! YAY! I love this one!
"His real name is Arty Morty." That cracks me up every time.
Kay reacts is where it’s at. I love watching Michael Caine always watchable thanks
Thanks! :D And thank you for watching! :)
Excellent choice. A great twist on the Sherlock Holmes story.
'You would be better off to write more about me, rather than all this business about hairs on the dinner jacket, or mismatching wood-grain...Endless twaddle!"
"TWADDLE?! Are you referring to the systematic gathering and scientific interpretation of *clues?"*
"I am referring to TWADDLE!"
LOVED it!
I LOVE this movie. Clever play on the Holmes/Watson relationship. Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley were great together.
I enjoyed this movie. Not one of my favourite comedies but still pretty good.
10:40 Those are gas-lights. They are where we get the expression 'gaslighting' today...though I really don't know how the two relate.
Hello, you know that gas is toxic, right? Also, 13:56
It's from the 1944 movie "Gaslight." A man tries to convince his wife that she's losing her mind. One of the tricks he uses is to randomly dim the lights in their house (which are gas lamps) and pretend that he doesn't notice.
The tv show Remington Steel sort of recreated the idea this movie vid capitalizing on.
Never seen this one, so it was fun to experience it with you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! And thanks for watching :D
As much of a fan favorite this movie is and this being a comedy/parody, I cannot get into this movie. A lot of things work against my personal sensibilities. It's not a bad movie and it has gotten a few laughs out of me, mainly at the end. Still, not my cup of tea.
Trivia: In real life, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle tired of his Sherlock Holmes character and killed him off, but later retconned it as a fake death to appease readers who had objected. This movie's story reflects those events in two ways. 1) Dr. John Watson (Sir Ben Kingsley) has tired of his Sherlock Holmes actor and fires him, but later rehires him due to demand. 2) In both this movie and the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story, the nemesis Professor James Moriarty effects the apparent death of a genius detective. In neither case can a corpse be found, though, because the scene of the slaying is a large body of water. Thus, in both, the detective character would return later having only seemed to die.
