Bringing up 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' in the interview: I was thinking how 'Without a Clue', Kingsley is the straight guy - but somehow hilarious (I guess seeing him in other roles in contrast). In 'Scroundrels', Caine is the straight guy, but with a subtle hilarity in the 'proper' demeanor. 'Without a Clue' is a greatly underrated gem. CLEVER play on the role swap between the play on historic literary characters.
Caine and Kingsley was one of those rare, PERFECT duos. Most prevalently obvious in comedy. Another was Crystal and Hines in 'Running Scared'. When you get a good comedy team, it doesn't seem at all like their even trying to act, AND that they're having FUN doing it, regardles of 'method' or whatnot. I've always enjoyed Mr. Caine's movies. Serious or funny.
I LOVE this movie!!!
Michael Caine - my favorite actor
Without a Clue - my favorite movie
I loved Kingsley and Caine in Without a Clue. Also Dirty Rotten Scandals was a great movie with Steve Martin.
