  • Triumph has just launched the Speed 400 built by Bajaj here in India at an unbelievable price tag of INR 2.23 lakh onwards as an introductory offer. This is unmatched value as per segment standards. But is this a good motorcycle to ride? Watch our detailed ride review video and share your opinion in the comments below...

Tractability is what is important in Indian roads...thats why it's better than KTM

Excellent review and some of the points mentioned are really valuable. Nobody mentioned about the occasional snatchy throttle response which I suspected with a ride by wire setup. Very few people have commented on the buzz around 6k rpm, most in fact claim it's very smooth, so you deserve appreciation for your honesty. If it starts coming around 100 kmph, then it's certainly something to think of during long highway rides. And the fact that if one can extract more than 30kmpl from the bike then one is not doing justice to what the bike is capable of is another important observation from you. I come from Honda 160 segment and thinking of cb350, so buzzing around 100 and above in highways and economy dropping below 30 in spirited city rides are both negatives when compared to cb350 I feel. And being a high compression engine, the heat factor you mentioned will also be something to contend with in city peak hour traffic conditions. So while the price is compelling, the vfm factor with the features on offer is very attractive, there are these factors mentioned above to consider before taking the plunge. With all the power on offer, with the torque spread and nimbleness on offer, it will be very difficult and a shame to be sedate on this bike. Excellent review I should say, I wish more people view this. Also, I wish I was 20 years younger and petrol was cheaper 😎

@@sanketjain9320 hi, I agree with you. I'm 51 and I recently went from Bangalore to Goa and back on my 160cc unicorn just to check my bike's and my endurance. That's when I wished I had a bigger bike but I'm not comfortable with a bent knee or rear set foot pegs for long rides. That's why I mentioned age. My heart and mind are younger than my knees. You'll know when you get there 😎

@@srinathtg4623 Wonderful! So good to know that!
I have long legs and one thing i find quite helpful on tours is to rest my legs on the crash guards every once a while.
Another thing that you can try would be to put a air cushion on top of the seat, to reduce the angle of your bent leg.

It's not a dominor engine. Literally every review mentioned that, ask a mechanical engineer why those two aren't same engines. As for traceability this has bigger stroke than KTM 390 & Dominor which gives better low end. 80% of its torque is available at 3k RPM.

One is national language and another is almost international language, so I guess you should use this excuse and do some contextual thinking with your interest in bikes to learn some Hindi. His Hindi as it is has a heavy south Indian accent, so I guess he's doing his best to speak in Hindi to cater to a larger audience.
