When Heilung travels to perform their rituals (what they call their shows) they always invite the local indigenous tribe to perform with them. you don't go to someone else's lands and invoke your gods without first asking permission. During the closing piece, usually hamrer Hippyer sees the locals return to the stage with them to dance and sing together. An amazing display of mutual respect.
That makes complete sense now that you say it, but I hadn't thought about it until then. There is a very vibrant indigenous culture(s) where I live and this is exactly the kind of respect they would show as well.
Wow
It is nice to listen to wise men not polluted by media. Respectful and insightful. Greetings from Norway
How would you describe a media polluted person? Are you one too?
people that think in only stereotypes that they hear in the news
@@jens2539
@@jens2539 someone who asks aggressive and defensive questions in response to an innocuous observation (like you're doing), for starters.
@@anna-xz9yj You don't see any negativ connotations in his sentence? He generalizes the media as something that "polluts" other people.
@@jens2539 We've had social media for two decades now and all that time student grades, critical thinking and IQs have gone down. What's gone up is ADHD medication, mental disorders and suicides among teenagers. There's the math for you.
The guy with the turban is a wise man, and his heart is open. Much respect to you, elder.
Abdul Aziz Rind 💗
I watch these videos for his words most. I have much respect for this man
13:36 Abdul: "my child, the requirement is to represent their culture to the world"
Very well said, heck yeah! ❤💯
To be fair, Heilung doesn't really preserve any existing culture, they constructed a new one on the basis of archaeological findings. And yes, I know the artists do actually identify with this kind of old Germanic culture and do those rituals as a serious thing and all, but it's still a recreation with a lot of freedom, not a continuation of anything and they also do a lot of stylistic choices that are clearly for the sake of the show and not because it's more authentic.
Yeah @Kuhmuhntische_Partei I read the wikipedia article too, I was just quoting and trying to say something nice.
@@Kuhmuhnistische_Partei Not one single culture is preserved. Every culture has evolved over thousands of years and you'd be right to say it's not the exact same but it is definitely a continuation of sorts. Roman Hellenism was somewhat different from Antiquity Greek Hellenism but both are still regarded as the same religion and that the Romans continued and even completed/expanded the religion.
the fact, these people having such a diffrent cultural background and beliefs compared to what they saw and still managed to keep the respect and appreciation for something unknown and diffrent, is just wholesome and MANY MANY MANY modern and so called "advanced and intellectual" societys could learn so much of them. Prayers and blessing to all these kind souls
I love that they noticed similarities in instruments and other things from a culture thousands of miles away that lived thousands of years ago. Just another proof there's nothing new under the sun! ❤ It also reinforces the notion that we're all so much more the same than different - same needs, similar solutions.
We are all brothers, indeed
and a proof that they lack behind evolution for a few hundread year and are all about "holy wars"
In fact these villagers and the norse are culturally related spanning those thousands of years which can get demonstrated linguistically and in terms of (pre-islamic) mythology/cosmology to this day.
Indo European ancestors 🥛❤️
@@pAThomies Exactly - I tried to explain it with my previous comment and forgot to mention the actually relevant term _"indo-european culture"_ of all things, its indo-iranian branch in this case.
I find it amazing that the tribesmen interpreted correctly, that the singing was a kind of call to a higher power to assist with strength in a time of weakness, authentic music is definitely a language that can cross cultures.
Show them the official video for heilung - anoana - is beautiful and full of deep meanings , symbolism and spirituality - would love to hear their reaction to this amazing video
I absolutely adore these individuals 💖 I want to hug them all. They are so open minded, kind, respectful, inquisitive- all the best qualities! Much love and thanks from afar.
Even though these men are thousands of miles away they still understood what it was about. 20:36, "Like some nations participate in rallies to promote their cultures, and some will use music to promote theirs. And in my opinion music is the best way as it´s peaceful.."
THAT IS WHAT IT`S ALL ABOUT!! Why can´t the rest of the world understand this?
I love how everyone is mesmerized by Maria’s vocals, but when all members of the band synchronize as one the songs are very powerful. If you close your eyes while listening to them your mind will be taken back to those times.
No matter how many times I hear this song it still gives me chills.
I imagine a group of Romans that hear this in the forest...coming toward them! It would be terrifying!
What I love about Heilung is the inclusion of small details you wouldn't notice unless you knew the historical context, like how they repeat the runes nine times, with nine being a very important number as it was the number of days and nights that Odin hung himself as a sacrifice (to himself) to gain knowledge in the form of the runes. Wardruna had a list of the runes in songs, my favourite being Fehu which means 'fortune' (mostly in cattle form) and is a song warning about a beast that comes to take all the fortune because they hoarded it
thank you for teaching them about my beautifull culture and religion
I would have never ever guessed to hear a Rey Mysterio shout-out on here...truly a global lucha legend. :D
And Undertaker too, love them.
"It is necessary to preserve every culture in the world" Yes to that! 🙏❤️
❤❤❤
I don’t believe that is true.
But it is a good thing to learn about them- recognize them, and possibly learn from them.
Human beings have been around for hundreds thousands of years. Religions, cultures, empires. . . come and go.
We evolve/adapt. Life just is.
The interesting thing is that all these deities are coming from the old Indo-European gods. What we call ''God'' today is the ''Daylight Father'' (Dyeus Phater) of the ancient Indo-Europeans who separated ways, some went to Europe and some went to the Iranic tribes and India. The Hindu, Greek, Germanic and Gaulic pantheons are all related to that ancient religion and ultimately Yahweh/God/Allah is also related to that religion and is basically Dyeus Pather
The name changed as languages evolved.
Dyeus Phater to Zeus Patēr (Leader of the Greek pantheon),
Dyeus Pather to Dies Pater (Old latin) to Iūpiter/Jupiter in latin(Leader of the Roman pantheon).
Dyeus to Dyaus/द्यौष् and Dyaus-pitr/ द्यौष्पितृ (Vedic pantheon leader, Sanskrit name)
Dyeus to Dieu (French Catholic name for God)
Dyeus to Dewos (Proto-Celtic)
The proto-Celtic ''sindos dago-dēwos ollo fātir'' became'' in Dagdae Oll-athair'' in Old Irish, Dewos thsu becoming the Irish god ''Dagdae'' with the ''Dag'' in ''dago'' and dēw becoming ''dae''.
7:35 Our ancestors did not pray to animals, but more to trees. Trees had a special importance in representing the entire world and life itself.
Later religions felled those trees specifically and erected their own temples where they have stood or used them as building materials for them, as a sign of dominance.
This project is such a great idea.
I have a suggestion: If they want they can share something from their culture to us viewers. For now it's just a onesided we teach you, we show you.
Let them show us.
I quite like this idea.
Now that’s an excellent idea. 😊👍
It's always great to see how your people react to other cultures and music etc. thank you for taking the time to do this to introduce your people to us who would otherwise never meet them.
I so enjoy your reactions and discussions. I love seeing it through different cultures and religions. Blessings ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad our Trybal friends appreciated it!
I saw Heilung for the first time last year. It was absolutely extraordinary, I'd urge anyone to go and see them, it's just beautiful, unlike anything I've ever seen before. "Remember that we are all brothers. All people." ❤
I love this! Thank you, guys, for your thoughtful reaction. I learned some new things about this song today 😊
Please show them the new live vid of Heilung Anoana. The new stage show is beautiful
Sir, not gonna lie, your set is 🔥 🔥 Would love to have those chairs you always interview on.
Thank you sir
I have been to quite a few concerts thus far but seeing Heilung perform live was miraculous, just like Wardruna everyone was on the same unified wavelength, i know for sure you'd be recieved with open arms ! Its so inspiring to see you men being open-minded about other cultures! Keep up the good reviewing!👌🏻
I love Muharam he really feels and understands. This channel is so important, really special.
I have seen them live a few times. It always feels like an ancient ancestoral transcendal experience.
p.s I am from Denmark in Europe.
Gorgeous song, performance and what an insightful reaction from everyone! Very moving. Happy holidays to all from California!
Please let them watch Eivor Palsdottir - Trodlabundin. I think they will be amazed by the Nordic theme and the unique sounds she can make. Love the reactions.
It would be a dream come true to see a Heilung ritual in person.
It gives me a warm Feeling how respectfull these wise man speak about our old cultures. Now i want to learn more about their culture and music. I know it will be a great experiance.
Voice is the first instrument, drums are the second instrument, around the entire world, the musical language is the same
Grandfather Abdul is quite right, at 7:38 where he suggests that they may pay respect to animal spirits/gods. Respect brother.
Looking at these beautiful People reacting to our Pagan music always brings Peace to my Heart.
So sincere without any prejudice and everything absorbed with an open mind.
I only wish all the Children of this Earth was like this...
Hail Odin
I would love to see more videos about the elder in the turban. Especially with esoteric topics like Jaagar. He seems so knowledgeable of old culture.
Something that they might like to know about, with the way the singers raise the notes and have that sudden vibratos, and halts, is that the songs were sung in fjords and deep valleys that make those sounds echo, some would echo so well you would hear as if the mountains sang back. Just thought they might think that is interesting and give some clues as to why the language and music is played the way it is.
Love how Muharam is just vibing to the music ❤
'Tribal people react to tribal people'
You need to show them "Hamrer hippyer" from Heilung.
I pretty sure they will like it too.
Please give an update on Parvati! How is she doing?
Much ❤ from 🇩🇪
by the way, Heilung is a 🇩🇪 word 🙂
Much love to everyone and their families from Cedar City Utah USA 👍💪🏻🙏🏻🤠
The most important sentence...."...and it's necessary to protect every culture in the world."
This is such a fun channel . :)
Hi guys! Wish I could meet y'all in person. :)
(I'm from USA but...) That's my [Heilung's interpretation of ] ancestral stuff. (+ some native American ancestry, specifically Onondaga, from central NY - have you done any of that?)
Thanks Adnan, for creating this channel, & bringing it to the world, & bringing us all together. :)
I want to go see Heilung with Mr. Muharam! I *JUST* missed seeing them live when I was back in the States (I live in Costa Rica now), so it would be extra special to witness one of my favorite bands playing live for the first time with him.
It is a war chant from the old gods and old ways of European north and Germanic roots
Thank you for the video! It is very interesting to hear how they feel, experience and view this piece of culture.
I love your videos, thank you!
good video. i woul love to see more heilung on this chanel. it is a deep sight to the world of ancient europe. and i like to hear the opinions of your people about it
I could sit and talk to that elder gentleman Abdul for hours and I don't even speak his language, he is absolutely immersed and fascinated to learn new things.
This is beautiful. Thank you for showing them our cultural expressions! ❤
I always admire the insightful comments Sean Connery (sorry, I don't know his name but everyone can understand) make, he not only look wise he also sound so
The Rey (John) Mysterio comparison was hilarious haha so random
As always they have great insight. Abdul, She is indeed giving a lesson, Sir, and representing her culture.
Muharam: you always resonate with the music the way I do, it is a delight to see.
Im so glad to see more people discovering Heilung. I was so excited to see them in concert recently.
Good work to put the video up and don't get blocked! 👍
Kudos to u too Gentlemen. Thank u for your wisdom
My favorite Heilung track. So glad you like it! Keep up the great reactions!
interesting as always thank you and thank them
It's interesting that people from other cultures are just as touched and attracted by this music as we are.
Lovely video as always!
I'd love these guys to watch some of the Heilung's "Drif" album - namely Asja, Nesso or Anoana. Think they would enjoy it greatly, Maria's voice in these is just angelic!
I really enjoyed this. 🙂
Bro....I love these people!
Parts of this sound like Himalayan Throat singing. Really beautiful and fierce!
React to Keith green he was a great musician, Create in me a clean heart and Oh Lord you are beautiful are my favorite songs.
Hello, good evening sir! I have an advice try one song from Beogradski sindikat-ljubav u inat. This song have strong message,i think you and ppl that watch will like It.
It is interesting to hear your perspective on some of the music I hear. Heilung reconstructs historical Nordic and Germanic music.
I think Heilung's music is "pretty wild". I have been to a concert with them a couple of times when they have been through Denmark. Several of their concerts are like being part of a prehistoric ritual. It's not just music, it's a total performance 🙂
Hey , you know what be really cool to see how some of the Tribal People would react on a Isle of Man TT Video ^^ i think that would blow some minds haha keep up the good work ;) greetings from germany
This was really interesting!!!
Nice reaction. Thanks.
Woo more Heilung! Another one I recommend is Norupo
@TRYBALS Hello Adnan! I have some Bob Ross items Id love to send, for a Bob Ross Party, or just to pass out amongst the guys. Is there an address or Post Office Box number that I could use?
Lordy, the set is lookin' fire!
It’s really well thought out for this show. Homely but in the most excellent way.
good to see that you share so much knowledge with your guests, and also really study the song and band before. very nice. by the way, they used the beginning of the song in the first game trailer for "hellblade 2". the newer game trailer is using a different heilung song, which they already performed live. its a wonderful song. feel free to check out "heilung - seidh"
Wish i can see them live!
Abdul's commentary that she sounds like she's giving a lesson - this kind of monotone singing is used as a memorization technique in some cultures, right? Is that what he means here, is that something he's familiar with from his life?
I can so see myself having a beer with Muharam. He looks like a younger version of my father, same facial expressions and same gestures. Seems like a very smart and nice guy.
They should react to some classical music!! I suggest Chopin-Ballade n.1 performed by Zimerman
I'm sure they will appreciate it cause everyone does
Excellent work, sir. The messages that these Tribal individuals convey when doing these reactions, the Alice In Chains vid specifically, are sorely needed for people of the West to hear. Please continue and good health to you and your family.
Heilung love to connect with other tribal people and in the US and Canada always try to get some Natives to perform the preshow. And Kai especially loves to connect with other ancient traditions, such as the natives traditions etc in northern america. I don't know if he also has contacts to middle and south american natives, but it wouldn't surprise me.^^
I absolutely love this channel and find myself always coming back to it. I think you should have them react to Pakistani rock band Karakoram. They're really good. You should have them react to Kal Nahi or Ye Dunya (ft. Talha Anjum) if you want a broader genre. I think Ye Dunya will be more interesting as it is a fusion of styles. Love from India!
I love this channel so much. I'm always curious what they'd think of me, a trans woman. I don't even care if it's negative, I'd be fascinated to hear those thoughts from someone who (presumably) hasn't been influenced by the culture that derides me and people like me.
What culture derides you? I notice overwhelming tolerance almost everywhere insofar as rewriting portions of the English language for the feelings of a very small percentage of the population among many many other acts of inclusion.
@@rotten7493 yes, those things have been nice. Don't get me wrong, it's been a huge improvement over the past few years. I just don't like being looked at like a novelty or a fetish. I work with people who stare at me like some I'm some sort of oddity. I know I'm different and I welcome questions looking to learn about me but that's just not the vibe a lot of people exude.
Thank you.
" ah yes just like we use an axe just to cut our cake" like, what?! xD
So in the intro they describe “Krigsgäldr” - that is the song about the village and going to war. This song is simply an incantation of the runes of the old Norse alphabet.
shout out to Johny Misterio!
alt skal nok være godt når vi har folk som disse. de viser vejen der viser respekt til folk selv om vi bor flere tusinde kilometer fra hinanden.
Excellent
Hi from Finland🤗 Amazing video again 🙏
Will you listen to Nightwish-ghost love score? It is absolutely breath taking.
Tribal people reacting to primeval tribal music.
Я из России. Очень люблю эту группу (Heilung). Впадаю в какой то транс. В тяжелые времена всегда их слушаю
Wonderful insights and conversations :)
While it is true that cultures come up with the basic inventions eventually when needed, the similarities between our ancestors' culture and yours isn't coincidence. On different sides of the globe, we both look more similar to each other than each of us looks similar to the central asians or the africans. Even the languages share similarities as through them, and genetic analysis we can somewhat reconstruct the ancient tribes' travel across the globe from your area to up here. It is also likely that some of our ancient gods' stories are inspired by events on those migrations. For example Odin had a child with a woman from the tribe of red haired giants "to the east", which is why his son, Thor, is red-headed. To the east of the migratory path once existed a tribe of very tall red-headed people, called the "Denisovans" (after they cave the first of their bones were found in). Whether these are truly related is still up for debate, but it is an interesting piece of history to consider.
Odin, or Wodan, or Wotan (depending on dialect) was the main god in this pantheon, who (paraphrased) carved the world from primordial chaos. More specifically the Giant Ymir, who took shape the heat and cold coming together. His hair made the trees, his brain the clouds and so on.
If you want to be fancy you could interpret Odin as a tribal leader who seeks to carve out his own land, his own kingdom for his people, from the greater world.
Odin is know as wise, and often shared his wisdom disguised as a traveler, and also bringing gifts to children in Winter - there is that connection to modern Christmas, as for that he was said to ride his eight-legged horse Sleipnir, which may be an inspiration for the eight reindeer the American Santa Clause uses.
Other names are "The High One" or "The Frenzied God", as he is also a fierce warrior. You could say he unites both the physical (rage, fight) and the spiritual (wisdom) in one being.
The German word for rage and being enraged is very close to his German name (Wotan): Rage = Wut, to rage = wüten, being enraged = wütend sein.
His name is still present in the English day "Wednesday" meaning "Wodan's Day."
Check out the Odin Amulets found in Northern Europe, which were relatively numerous: archaeologynewsnetwork.blogspot.com/2016/12/rare-1500-year-old-odin-amulet-found-in.html
You may be surprised by the style and iconography used in these.
While the gods were important to understand the world, they only played second fiddle in the daily lives of the people. For on a daily basis what was much more important were spirits; of nature, animals, ancestors, the elements. It is where most of our folklore comes from, even if it has changed a lot. In the most northern reaches of Norway and on Iceland the most of these ancient beliefs have survived. Finlands culture is similar, but a bit different. As are the old Slavic ones.
It is a fascinating topic.
And I believe it is one that can bring us closer together, rather than divide us further as some sinister people with selfish ideas they falsely present as selfless, want.
This conjures up images of brutal men, long ago, from the far North with their dragon ships and strange gods.
I would love to see a reaction to the Cat Stevens song “Father And Son” much love from Porterville ❤
I love how these guys understand enough about their own ancestral beliefs to notice the connections. Odin is no stranger if you know about Rudra. He's the god that splits sky-earth, i think its called dyaus-prithivi in the rig veda? In ancient norse its called Ymir. Its only strange to us modern people.
It's hilarious how they talk about WWE all the time
I'd love them to see some Huun Huur Tu! A similar vibe as Heilung, but Mongolian.
This makes me curious what they would think about the voice of Eivør.
I wonder if John misterio knows Tom and Nick. (WWE reference)
You should point out that Odin is also known as the "All Father"
Thats due to christian influence, odin became god, hel the devil and balder became jesus.
Atleast thats what I learned in school.
i would like to see them react to the artist Mitski, she is an icon and her music is genius :)
