I have a ridiculous backlog on all my consoles and pc so I get what you mean people complaining need to chill and play the games you haven't completed and just have fun.
True but ideally I'd like to complete them as remasters on my Switch.
So true the indie world was good they had about 5 to 6 games I’m checking especially the one with demos.

Those complaining online are in the minority, definitely not the majority. There's a reason why you're not hearing something, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean the company is not looking out for their best interest. When I say this, I am being general, not specific to one person.

No, 3rd party teams are probably making games for Switch 2 , but they're not going to pass up serving 150M Switch owners. No way. It'll take about a year or two before Switch games dry up.
Especially if Switch gets to 170 with a price drop.
If Tears of the Kingdom wasn’t your thing and you didn’t care for Mario Wonder either, I’m not sure what makes you a Nintendo fan.
Nintendo has other games beyond side scrolling Mario and open world Zelda.

You're right. Both those games are quintessential Nintendo masterpieces. If you fell in love with Nintendo's game design philosophy then it really would be shocking that you don't like either totk or mario wonder

I think the main problem is Nintendo CZcamsr keep putting out speculations of what’s coming or what should come so therefore they build up so much anticipation for a game and when it doesn’t show up, everybody gets disappointed if they will quit doing that then people will develop some patients eventually
I agree, people just need to be a little bit more patient and enjoy the available library on the Switch. Everyone will be mind blown when Nintendo shows an actual presentation of actual games for the next system, and the wait will have been worth it. I have been replaying several games for the last months, and this week I completed Mario Odyssey 100 % for the first time. There are many good games out there while we wait for Nintendo first-party games, but I also understand where the backlash is coming from. People want a more powerful system to have a better experience with their favorite games and new games they want to play, and the Switch hardware is really showing its age. Unless it's an AAA Nintendo game, the chances of a game running like garbage on the Switch are really high, and third-party/indie games most of the times don't run well on the Switch (I only play handheld, so it may be a different story when docked), and it's frustrating to pay for a product that doesn't run as one would expect. People want more first-party games because at the end of the day third-party games don't run well on the Switch.
I agree with this. Dive into thr backlog. As Nintendo themselves says, "Nintendo Switch HAS GAMES" and a lot of them too!
You're absolutely right about the backlog. Almost EVERYONE has a backlog of games that have gone unfinished or even practically unplayed! There's always new games that I have an itch to get, but lately I haven't been able to buy so many due to financial reasons. But I have so many great games still to play, so I have been skipping some new games and playing old ones instead.
I loved ToTK so much that I can’t even describe it I’m still playing it!!! Also Mario Wonder is amazing!! When I went to Pax East 2024 I told NOA employees how much I love their games at the Pokemon booth 😊
So I’m good to go for a while. I have a backlog of games I do want Switch 2 as soon as possible but I’m not even pressed for anything right now.
I’m probably gonna play Europa at some point.
My switch and PlayStation 4/5 backlog is ridiculous. I need a breather to beat some games.

My opinion is simply that the Switch 2 won't be released in 2024 until the beginning of January in 2025. That's my theory
This year, I been trying out a lot of Indies and 3rd parties like Rayman Legends and Pac-Man World Repac.
I'm not worrying, maybe a nintendo direct in june if it doesn't happen then 🤔 I'll continue playing games I have.
I didn't really 😕 care for the indie world direct. 😮 but things happen and good and bad 👎 happens.

As I have a big backlog on both Switch and PS5 I'm not that irritated over the fact that Nintendo aren't spitting out games to right and left, but more over that they aren't announcing Switch 2 and some plans/games with it. The wait and uncertainty is worse than being "gameless" and not getting a big main Direct. It's obv because they save up and prepares for the next console anyway.
I'm still hoping for Mario Galaxy 2 to be on the Switch in Spring or Summer this year. And I feel like they might reveal it st the General Direct.

I feel like there have been way worse years for Switch software than 2024. 2018 was bad, 2020 was bad, even 2022 was pretty lame. A loving remake of what most consider the greatest Mario RPG of all time, A Peach game, a return of Endless Ocean, Splatoon DLC, and then 3rd party exclusive stuff like Monkey Ball, World of Goo 2 and so on. Sure there is no OMG IT'S 3D MARIO kinda' game - but this year definitely isn't the worse year for Switch and we haven't even seen what they could announce in June as they usually do.

9:16 To be fair, a nice portion of m backlog is ONLY my backlog because they were multiplatform games with abysmal load times on Switch that I was waiting for the Pro and now Switch 2 to play them on and that I bought on Sale with either 50% or 75% or 85% off the Price. The rest is because I focus on a single game at a time and some games are so good that I can't put down without forcing myself to.

2017: Switch is DOA
2018: Switch is dead after arrival
2019: Switch is great but Switch Pro is coming
2020: Switch is dead without Switch Pro because of PS5/Xbox Series
2021: Switch is dead because of Steam Deck
2022: we need Switch 2
2023: Switch 2 this year
2024: Switch 2 this year

Well, I was wrong. Not the first time. I guess Nintendo really is waiting till 2030 to give us new hardware. I expected it by Spring this year. I'm still sticking to what it is but the launch.... Nintendo... I love/hate you! 😅

My plan is to chill, save money until 2025 then buy GTA6 and play until new Nintendo Console comes out. Thats it!
My guess is simple.
-General Direct within the next 2-3 weeks (either the Friday before, day of, or Friday after the May financial briefing, is May 6 if I remember correctly. It’s either the 6th or 7th.
-June Switch 2 teaser trailer. -September Direct will be the big blowout reveal focusing on cross-gen and next gen titles. Cross-gen, maybe a shadow drop or two with next-gen patching and a physical release to come day 1 of Switch 2.
-Metroid Prime 4, likely cross-gen, but revealed in the General Direct with a Switch release in October and both patching for people who already purchased it on Switch and a physical release on Switch 2 Day 1. That way, assuming Nintendo does what we’re expecting and they have full backward compatibility with strategic patching for some titles to take full advantage of Switch 2 features and toolsets, no one has the anxiety that their library doesn’t disappear when they upgrade. It’ll also give Nintendo both a major holiday title that won’t be competing with major flagship titles, which could lead to major success.
-Switch 2 release still within the fiscal year, but launch will be sometime between January and Spring Break time in March.
Again, this is just a guess. But it’s based on the utter weirdness of the year, the fact that Nintendo leadership promised the roadmap and talking new hardware in May at the February quarterly briefing, and the fact that while Nintendo isn’t attending Gamescom, Nintendo of UK and of Europe have both said there will be other events that would offer the opportunities that Gamescom did. It suggests they’ve got something, they just want a lot more control over the presentation of things than a major industry event would allow.

It can mean “the easiest path forward for Nintendo and fans.”

This is great advice Nate, the backlog is huge and some people just want new new but I am sure many of us have older games to play. FF7REBIRTH is huge and loving that, FF XVI has new DLC and I have several Switch games that need to be played.
I’m in a perpetual state of hyping irresponsibly. I don’t know when Nintendo is going to strike but I know they will. There’s so much to look forward to and so many games to catch up on in the meantime.

The thing that has me negative or meh at the very best, specifically in regards to Switch 2, is it’s been too much of a slow burn. We’ve wanted a new switch for a long time and then we got months upon months of rumors and/or leaks which oddly didn’t help. Instead of getting me hyped it’s had the opposite impact on me where now… I don’t know if I care. Yes, Nintendo is always behind the other consoles and I shouldn’t care yet sadly after all this time it feels outdated before it even launches.

That’s because Nintendo is taking to long to reveal and launch a Switch successor. The Switch has worn out its welcome after Zelda Tears of the Kingdom which should have been the swan song game for the Switch. Know all we have is launch time rumors that keep being BS. Along with lack luster games in both quality and quantity coming out. Nintendo is not ending the Switch on a good note unfortunately just low budget games, ports and remakes. Based off of leaks we already know the technology in the Switch successor will be 5 year old mobile technology from 2020. Along with it having only 8gbs of ram, 128gb storage, 720p LCD display at 60hz and be on the terrible 8nm Samsung node processor. I’m honestly not hyped for Switch successor anymore. It will just end up being a very late and underpowered console that will be a Nintendo box.
@@ZackSNetwork more like 2016... I remember when there were rumors about an NX pro launching the same day as the NX which became the Switch pro rumors which then again became the Switch 2 rumors and I'm 100% sure there will be Switch 2 Pro Rumors soon enough.

I would say the Nintendo community is actively losing their interest in following Nintendo and Switch because of the lack of new announcements and Switch being in its eighth year on the market.
So, you're basically saying that y'all first and (possible) only console is the Switch.
@@diegomedina9637 Cant speak for others, but I am 40 years old and have gone through every single one of Nintendo's console generations. From my experience, it is normal for fatigue to set in after about 5-6 years, at which point enthusiasm for a new console builds rapidly.

Come on NP. Why is the switch 2 in the conversations again? The switch 2 is not launching this year. The switch 2 is launching early next year or later next year. Nintendo is skipping Gamescom this year. This means no switch 2 anytime soon. Nintendo could reveal the switch 2 in June or July this year. But the switch 2 is not launching this year and will launch next year. If we don't see something switch 2 related this summer. Nintendo could reveal and show off switch 2 at the Tokyo game show later this year. Either in public or behind the scenes for their Japanese partners and investors.
Nin ain't going to release S2 until they pass PS2 is my prediction & it's coming true. I say the OG Switch is going to be around for 10 yrs support.

If you're awake in the real world you will notice more hate is due to Nin fast approaching PS2 sales. No one wants to see it happen & you hear bring Switch 2, hardware support is only 4 to 5 hrs, & too many rumors that ppl say is coming turns out to be fud.
Maybe the real reason why we don't have news of new games coming out is because Nin must have gotten rid of insider leakers & fired them thus making it hard for anyone to make good leaks.
The only leaks your going to get now is when the trailer ads are ready to air the same day or day before. From here on out your just going to see & hear massive misinformation of leaks of fans trying to survive the channel 😂.

Nah the Switch is outdated as all hell. 2014 year old mobile hardware can’t play a lot of modern games. The system has been on the market for 7 years already and no signs of a new system still. Nintendo has gotten lazy and to comfortable just like with the Wii and DS.

@@ZackSNetwork We can all see where the current trend of hyper performance specs is taking the industry... except for some honorable mentions, the majority of AAA games will either be made into "beautiful" cash grabs, giving gamers the illusion that they're playing a high quality game because it looks good, only to be robed blind with roughly 15 hrs of gameplay, or a glitchy mess with an incessant amount of DLC or "Chapters" that will unlock the game forward, only if you pay the same amount several times.

I’m more than fine with Nintendo’s lineup this year. The switch 2 will come when it they feel like it’s the right time. The og switch is still selling well so people are honestly wasting their energy because obviously that switch 2 reveal ain’t happening anytime soon. I’ve been catching up on my back catalogue and getting back into retro gaming plus I have Paper Mario and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD so it’s not like I can’t complain too much personally
