Stevie says in an Interview... "I remember the night I wrote 'Dreams.' I walked in and handed a cassette of the song to Lindsey. It was a rough take, just me singing solo and playing piano. Even though he was mad with me at the time, Lindsey played it and then looked up at me and smiled. What was going on between us was sad. We were couples who couldn't make it through. But, as musicians, we still respected each other - and we got some brilliant songs out of it."
You guys have to here more Stevie Nicks - Rooms on Fire - Seven Wonders - Talk to me - Stop dragging my heart around (with Tom Petty) - Leather and Lace (with Don Henley) - Stand Back - Gypsy
Yeah, that's tough. Most folks would have quit the band, but Stevie and Lindsey somehow were still able to work together and turn that heartache into iconic music.
And she had a cold recording the one we hear on the radio Love her!
Stevie Nick's voice in this song is like silk, so smooth. Stevie Rocks! One of my Favs for sure. ❤️
And that guitar would be her ex Lindsay Buckingham!
The studio version is the masterpiece though. The live vocal harmonies are never quite right
I like that cos contemporary recording and lives take out that human bit so all is pitch perfect even when they are not!
Largely because Buckingham was off his face during many of their concerts. It's why they finally ditched him.
@@zaharacelestial8940 - The original studio recording was not digitally embellished with AutoTune. AutoTune didn’t exist back then. It was pitch perfect because they went back and sang it again and again until they nailed it. In a live performance like this, you get what you get. Sometimes it’s great sometimes not so much. On this particular performance, it’s not so much. Seriously, if Jay and Amber want to hear the song away it’s intended to be heard, they should listen to the studio recording of it. It’s much, much better.
Agreed.
@@philiponeill6903 seriously. Maybe do some research. Lindsey is the genius behind the band. As much as I have always loved Stevie, she was wrong in having him fired and the lies that were made up..
Rumors is still one of my favorite albums.
The “Rumours” album is still one of the biggest selling albums in history. From the same album, listen to “Go Your Own Way” that Lindsay takes lead vocals on.
rumours is the best album i ever heard and i bought it when it first came out....a long time ago
Literally every song on that album is great! Usually now a days albums have atleast 1 crap song
They already reacted to it
Christine Mcvie wrote and performed some of the bands biggest hits. Fleetwood Mac ain’t just the stevie show.
Her song "Songbird" is fantastic!
You guys HAVE to add some Christie McVie into your repertoire. You are SLEEPING on a really great voice and songwriter!
I'll second "Songbird"
Yeah, you should absolutely give Christine a listen.
Yep. "Don't Stop", "You Make Lovin' Fun", "Everywhere", "Little Lies"...
Thank you! I have never been much of a Stevie Nicks fan or could see what her great appeal ever was. She sounds like a sheep bleating.
Gypsy… gold dust woman…all good songs that showcase Stevie. For the rumors album, john and Christine McVie (bassist and keyboardist) were divorcing as well. Lots of emotion all around in that album.
Yes, Gypsy and Silver Springs!
Incredible album.
The best album made entirely on coke
It wasn’t just Steve’s voice, all of them together made this almost hypnotic sound. I remember when it came out it was one of my favourite albums and groups for a very long time.
Fleetwood Mac is one of the best sounding rock bands of all time.
You really need to listen to Fleetwood Mac Songbird and hear how Christine McVie sounds... It's such a beautiful song
I totally agree.Do a Christine song.Songbird is great,I also love You Make Loving Fun
Eva Cassidy did a beautiful cover of "Songbird".
@@joeyrobison6629 YES love that version her voice was amazing
@@joeyrobison6629 I have heard it and it’s amazing
"Little Lies" is good too.
You should give the other Fleetwood Mac singer, Christine McVie some love. React to “Say You Love Me”.
And "You Make Love Fun."
And "You Make Love Fun."
Gypsy, was written about Stevies friend, who passed away. It is my all time favorite song, by Fleetwood Mac. Trust me you won't be disappointed!
The Rumors album was a record setting album, sell 10 million copies in the first month. The success of the album didn't come from one or two or even three hits, the entire was incredible! Especially when you consider all the negative effects going on within the band. Every song to me was a hit, the same as Hotel California album for Eagles. It was the greatest time musically, to be a teenager or early 20s from 1975 to 1981. And Fleetwood Mac was a huge part of that time.
Christy McVie and Linsey Buckingham also lead FM vocally. You need to hear them on lead, two Great singers!
Good to mention them! My personal preferences in Fleetwood Mac songs tend to be Christine McVie songs, even if her voice isn't as special as Stevie's.
I remember when Tango in the Night came out, I couldn't stop listening to Isn't It Midnight. I just love Christine McVie's voice.
Yep. We get it. And really we are right there with you. Stevie is magic. But don't limit yourselves. Lindsey is incredible when he sings lead. And Christine? She's Perfect! ( Ok, so that's a play on her maiden name, Christine Perfect. But it's true.). Look at the track listing from their Greatest Hits album. 4 Lindsey songs, 5 Stevie songs and 8 Christine songs! Start with Songbird and journey into the "perfect" world of Christine.
Lindsey Buckingham is not female.
Christy? Obviously not a fan her name is Christine no one calls her that
"Stop dragging my heart around" Duet Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty, enough said! Their voices mesh so well together, they should have done so much more..
@rblume 1968 - Have you listened to "Insider"? Just a touching and beautiful blend of Tom and Stevie's voices.
Great choice. I put in for that one months ago. They will get it soon I hope!
B I G. L O V E.
There’s even a version of Tom Petty’s “Apartment Song” they sang together which sounded amazing.
@@jamessinacore6991 I don't think I've heard that. I'm going to seek it out now. Thanks for the heads up.
"That long note that sounds like Stevie's voice". Absolutely perfect description of Lindsey's guitar tone
I am the Stevie Nicks fan of life, but she definitely plays down the venom she was capable of in her songs lol. She has often said Dreams was her hopeful, philosophical version of the Buckingham breakup while he wrote Go Your Own Way from a place of anger. The thing is that Stevie's melodies are so dreamy (pun intended!) that they often mask the rage underneath. The lyrics of Dreams are just as vicious as Buckingham's in Go Your Own Way, just more subtle. Amber, you kind of hit it: She is essentially damning him to a life of loneliness and madness that he'll never be able to escape, even in his dreams. And "women they will come and go/when the rain washes you clean" is a swipe at Buckingham being dirty & jumping from woman to woman (many of whom were likely groupies). Silver Springs is the same - it's such a pretty melody it's easy to forget she's calling him out to his face for cheating on her, and then casting a spell to keep him haunted by her memory & voice forever!!! Stevie was an absolute KILLER - she just did it with beautiful music to disguise the blade of her pen! xoxo P.S. - I am a relatively new subscriber and am OBSEESSED with your reactions. You are both so much fun!
I believe "Dreams" and "Go Your Own Way" were songs that Stevie and Lindsey aimed at each other after their breakup.
If you do a reaction to Gypsy, you need to check out the official video. The video is the best I've ever seen to this day.
And The Chain.
I feel like "Dreams" -> "Go Your Own Way" -> "Silver Springs" form a conversation between the two of them.
And those two are two of my favorite songs. But, it's hard to find a Fleetwood Mac song I don't absolutely love.
Also Break the Chain.
Tusk was Lindsey taking a shot at Stevie for screwing Mick while he was still married.
This song is actually the break-up song that she wrote to him. Of course, he countered with Go Your Own Way. Landslide is a song that is about their relationship but THIS song in THE song she wrote to him. She is my IDOL! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE HER SO MUCH! I've seen FM in concert twice and Stevie (solo) once for my birthday back in 2016 in Chicago. She was PHENOMONAL! I cried throughout the whole concert. Lindsey and Stevie & John and Christine's relationships all ended around the same time, and then Stevie had a year long fling with Mick (drummer). The whole Rumors album was about the whole mess that the band was going through. Not just Lindsey and Stevie. It is still one of the best rock albums in rock history. FM is my favorite rock band ever as well. Such a great band!
Add in a truck load of cocaine also
Let's not forget that Lindsey Buckingham wrote 'Go Your Own Way' FIRST about their break-up and had Stevie sing it. He was having a rough time over the break-up and writing that song helped him move forward. 'Dreams' was Stevie's response to that song. So, as badass as Stevie is, Lindsey did it first.
Fun fact: Stevie also had an affair with Mick Fleetwood while she was in a relationship with Don Henley (The Eagles) and Mick was married to Jenny Boyd. Jenny is sisters with Pattie Boyd who was married to George Harrison (The Beatles) and later, Eric Clapton. Pattie inspired some amazing songs from those two.....'Something' by Harrison, 'Layla' and 'Wonderful Tonight' by Clapton.....to name a few.
Now that's what you call a muse
Patty also inspired "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" by Clapton too
Patty Boyd cheated on George with Eric. I’ll never understand why.
The Rumors album was really good and no one was innocent in their relationship. I am glad they still had enough respect for each other to play/sing each other’s songs about each other.
Part of what made Fleetwood Mac great was all the personal angst between the band members. It was a treasure trove of creativity.
Well said Daniel!!!!!
You should do one with Christie McVie in lead vocals... a great one is "Little Lies" 🥰
Or everywhere
Or "You Make Loving Fun"
"Oh, Daddy" is another super awesome Christine McVie lead vocalist song,as well. The best Oneonta already reviewed NY The Rob Squad, as of yet! HOPEFULLY, EVERY, TOO SOON!!!
Hold me is one that features christine as well
Stevie and Christine both sing so well
First, Lindsey wrote "go your own way" which Stevie said "was him telling me, go live your crummy little life ALONE." Secondly, there IS a stripped down demo version with just Stevie and the keyboard called "stevie nicks dreams take 2" and it's Awesome !
This live version is great, but no live version of this song can ever compare to what came out of the studio. Crafted perfection.
Stevie is a legend, but Christy McVie - played keyboards wrote the classic Songbird. Take a listen and enjoy
Next time you do Fleetwood Mac try "You Make Lovin Fun" written and sung by Christine McVie. She too is Awesome.
Christine McVie was the first female singer for Fleetwood Mac she is awesome
This is sick. these two actually know about the goings-on within the band. You both go above and beyond. I'm amazed. Come on everybody - their awareness of music at least draws a thumbs-up & their interaction only backs it up. Let's get this pair to 200K subs!
Get a grip.
@@salbuda6957 nice response thanks for playing . get a life.
Don't overlook Christine McVie's vocal contributions to FleetwoodMac. Try Songbird or You Make Lovin Fun.
Thank you; these kids need the WHOLE picture--these Fleetwood Mac parts are NOT greater than the sum
You make lovin fun is maybe my favorite FM song
Thank you yelnek 454 they need to explore Christine McVie also
Amen to reviewing Christine McVie leads. She was a huge part of Fleetwood Mac, and you all sound like Fleetwood Mac was a backup band for Stevie. Definitely not the whole picture.
👊🏻👍🏻
Stevie Nicks is NOT the only female in Fleetwood Mac, you should play Christine McVie songs from Fleetwood... She is a wonderful singer and writer...
For some time, Dreams was my favorite Fleetwood Mac song!
Stevie Nicks wrote the song in early 1976. She said, "One day when I wasn't required in the main studio, I took a Fender Rhodes piano and went into another studio that was said to belong to Sly Stone, of Sly and the Family Stone. It was a black-and-red room, with a sunken pit in the middle where there was a piano, and a big black-velvet bed with Victorian drapes. I sat down on the bed with my keyboard in front of me, I found a drum pattern, switched my little cassette player on and wrote 'Dreams' in about 10 minutes. Right away I liked the fact that I was doing something with a dance beat, because that made it a little unusual for me." Buckingham "fashioned three sections out of identical chords, making each section sound completely different. He created the impression that there's a thread running through the whole thing."
Hey guys...
We mustn't forget the much-underappreciated other female vocal (and keyboard player) of Fleetwood Mac: Christine McVie.
Listen to her singing "You Make Loving Fun" from Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors" album:
czcams.com/video/f5eCEdu_gQE/video.html
Songbird. love her so much
E V E R Y W H E R E
Got A Hold On Me
Say you love me
@@jacksonmorganfroghin4815 That's goddamn right! That song just shimmers!
The other female vocalist in Fleetwood Mac, Christine Perfect McVie, wrote 8 of the songs on their Greatest Hits album, released 3 solo albums, and received two Grammy Awards. You should give her a little love too! Try 'You Make Loving Fun' from the Rumours album.
Or Songbird...
Actually the song, 'You Make Loving Fun' was the start of the break-up with the McVie's.
As Christine wrote and sang the song about a fling she was having with one of the roadies in the band, behind John's back..
I prefer Christine’s voice over Stevie, she’s way more talented in my opinion.
Her voice has always sent chills up my spine...so much spirit
Oh yes definitely
This is a song that I heard as a kid, and for whatever reason, made me want to grow up quickly.
You can never go wrong with Stevie Nicks. For the next one you do do Stevie Nicks and Don Henley Leather and Lace.
Oh Jay I love that you're introducing your students to the amazing world of rock and roll. You remind me a lot of my eighth-grade history teacher only we listen to Cheech and Chong and the thing was my history teacher was like 70 years old but she loved her some Cheech and Chong
Fact!
Or Stevie & Tom Petty doing "Stop Dragging My Heart Around"
I flipping LOVE that song!!!
Didn't know you were a teacher. I taught high school and JC English for 32 years. Whenever possible, I incorporated music/song into my lessons--gotta find something kids are INTERESTED in to teach them.
@@theresamariegoesplaces9688 Yes
You should definitely check out “Gold Dust Woman” by them.
Most Definitely!
Yes so definitely gold dust women
There’s so many good ones
Gold Dust Woman is my favorite by them
@@johnkonertz8042 I really like Monday Morning and Little Lies
What a coincidence all artist named Stevie are amazing,Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder & Stevie Ray Vaughn
Stevie sounds like a glass of whiskey at 3 in the AM . . . after a long-long breakup.
"Gypsy" is most definitely worth a listen! But you really can't go wrong with anything Stevie does. Jay my music teacher would occasionally put on different eras of music to illustrate the point that he was making that day. My high school was a jr/sr high combined in one building and my years there were 1980-1986. So these were the old vinyl 45's and sometimes the 33 1/3rd albums. Some of it was from the 50's and 60's and some were more current at the time. It's great that you are sharing the great music of the past with a new generation. It makes me curious if any of your students have subscribed to join in your journey of discovery.
And the video is a work of art. Gorgeous!
I always wondered that as well. I think his students would benefit from the channel.
Great story. I was born in 72 and was extremely lucky with the music music I grew up with.
That's my favorite FM song!!
My favorite song
This was their first HUGE hit. We all fell in love with Stevie.
Man amber is spot on. That writing and composing from the soul and from life experiences is sorely missing from today's music
It is from rumours, she nailed it
Man, I still remember Casey Kasem announcing this song at #1 in 1977. I was 5 years old. My sisters & I were playing cards on the floor of our living room when this was announced #1. It was the only week Fleetwood Mac spent at #1 in their careers on the US singles chart.
I'm curious what y'all think about the classic Tell Me Lies with Christy McVie singing lead
Yes
it's actually "Little Lies" my favorite 🥰
Stevie write all of her songs. She is a poet and one of the best female vocalist of all time.
So true
there is no contest when it comes to Stevie but you guys have to check out Lanie Gardners cover of DREAMS. Fleetwood Mac and Stevie were my youth. God, I hate getting old....she also made an amazing guest appearance on AMERICAN HORROR STORY...I think twice? BEAUTIFUL......
I still say "Silver Spring" is Stevie's most powerful song about their relationship.
My favorite..... when she looks straight at Lindsey in The Dance and belts out ..."I'll follow you down til the sound of my voice will haunt you"... I could feel it in my soul !!!
@@TheRealSweetcherryo yes! The Dance was the first time they performed as a group in almost 25 years! I’m surprised there wasn’t a knife fight that evening! Lol
Peter Frampton comes alive was huge 1976 Bostons Boston lp Came out in 1976 Was HUGE And Rumors 1977 Super huge
Her Ex Lindsey Buckingham also wrote songs about her that she had to sing.... they had a tumultuous relationship that resulted in a lot of good music. The Rumours album being the best example.... there was a lot of cheating on both sides with almost every member of the band... and all of that is expressed in the lyrics and in their live performances..
Can't forget about the butt load of cocaine....literally in stevie's case
I love the warm tones in their music. The relationship between Lindsay and Stevie broke up because she had an affair. I saw an interview with them a couple of years ago and they talked at length about the break up. Stevie said she didn't want to break up and tried for years to get back with him, she then pause, looked him in the eyes and said she was so sorry for the affair and the way she hurt him. His response blew me away. He told her he waited years for her to say she was sorry and that was all he wanted, and he would have taken her back, but now it was too late because he had moved on and has a wife and family he loves very much, and Stevie just looked heart broken.
That blows my mind. I always thought that it was him since he was so young when they started dating. But what if she wrote these songs as self recrimination and switched the genders to mask it? Idk because then she knew it would all fall on him and as the cheater that seems especially cruel. Maybe it was a mutual thing but hers was more significant? Who knows.
Can you say what interview that’s from?
@@carolineharrison9288 There was a documentary about them on TV a few years back but I can't remember what it was called, but it was brutally honest and you could see the pain between them.
I bought rumors when i was 13 and loved Stevie then (that was 1976). Her songs helped me through my divorce and becoming a single father. I'm now going to be 61 and Stevie's songs still mean as much as a lifetime ago.
Yes its from Rumors also Go your own way
Christy McVies voice is incredible also ....Check out the song Everywhere
Love her.
It’s CHRISTINE
Yes, Christine McVee’s “Everywhere” song, and “You Make Lovin Fun”, “Warm Ways”, so many more. Her songs involved everyone whereas Stevie’s are written for Stevie. I like her songs, of course, but there is much more to this amazing group than just Stevie. 👍
Absolutely. And if Christine had not been an emotional mediator within the band at that time, I doubt they would have continued as a band.
I saw them live starting in 1979. To me, Christine McVee is the heart of Fleetwood Mac.
She was indeed the heart and so sadly missed ❤
Christine McVie who was originally married to the bass player joined the band in 1970. She was the lead singer and keyboard player. She was a classically trained contralto singer and brilliant keyboard player. She’s now aged 78, and has had success with three solo albums also.
About anything Stevie does is great. What a voice. Lindsey Buckingham the guitarist and Stevie were an item. So maybe that's the reason there's that sympatico-ness there. LB is one of the best!
Were breaking up during the writing of the song, its about Lindsay
I would love for you guys to Showcase one female Friday the other wonderful female vocalist in this band, Christine McVie. She has an amazing voice! Try Songbird 4A be a beautiful ballad and say you love me for a more up-tempo choice. Thanks guys!
Fleetwood Mac was also a huge band...try Go Your Own Way, The Chain, Gold Dust Woman, Say You Love Me, Second Hand News & Over My Head just to name a few!
This was the definitive song of the 'new' Fleetwood Mac. From an incredibly important British rock/blues band to an American and British, male and female collaboration creating a sound and style that the world was ready for. FM were iconoclastic. No other band went through such a transformation quite like this.
Fleetwood Mac (this lineup) is my favorite band! I adore Stevie, but you should try the other female singer in the group, Christine McVie. "Songbird" is my fave from her.
"Landslide" isn't from "Rumours". It's from the prior album "Fleetwood Mac". Dreams is from rumours. Great job as always!
Didn't Stevie write Landslide for her father? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.
There's no mistaking that voice. So many great songs.
If you guys wanna hear Christine McVie , the keyboardist sing , play lies lies tell me sweet little lies .
This song was from their album 'Rumours' and was their only number 1 song believe it or not. Someone mentioned it already but this was Stevie's reply to Lindsey's "Go Your Own Way!" And yes, "Gypsy" is very much worth reacting/listening to......the official video is the best.
Over my Head, by Fleetwood Mac. This song is sung by Christine McVie, who at one time was married to Bass Player John McVie. Stevie was in a duo with Lindsey Buckingham who is the Male singer of the band. Stevie even dated the drummer Mick Fleetwood. Band named after the drummer and Bassist. Stevie and Christine both sing lead on different songs. Both in the band together.
Hope you are all well.... Merry Christmas.
And they made some great songs before Stevie and Lindsey joined the band, when Peter Green was the singer and lead guitarist. Need your love so bad, Albatross, The Green Mahalishi...
I also love Christine McVie's voice very much. I guess I loved hers first, haha.
@Eric V. I agree but a totally different sound, some gritty and hard blues with top tier guitar work... might as well be another band. But I bet J would absolutely love it!
@@emtallmoose9436 Yeah, it wasn't until many years after I first heard Fleetwood Mac (from Rumours onward) that I finally heard their early, pre-Stevie/Lindsey stuff with Peter Green, and I love it! Great bluesy rock.
I Love how you delicately put "Dated John McVie"!!! LOL!!!
Stevie Nick's has been melting hearts with her beauty, sound of her voice
Stevie is a treasure to hear, such a unique voice. I never thought anyone could sing like her but there is a girl, Lanie Gardner, who did a cover of "Dreams" and went viral on You Tube. within three days she had a record deal with the Jonas Brothers, Capitol records I believe. The video has over 45 million views. Please please react to her video. Thanks you guys love your channel
Great tune! Stevie has an amazing voice but never under value Christine McVie and her contribution to this band. Her vocals are amazing and compliment Stevie's voice.
My husband much prefers Christie’s voice.
Christine has been undervalued forever! We saw them at the MGM Grand in Vegas years ago and Christine ended the concert with Songbird. It was just her on the piano and Lindsey on the guitar. It was a very moving moment!
Christine also has more than her share of lead vocals in the Fleetwood Mac discography. Especially on the Tango In The Night album Christine carries most of the vocal load throughout with contributions by Stevie and Lindsey. Great Christine McVie lead vocal songs: Don't Stop (co -lead with Lindsey), You Make Loving Fun, Say You Love Me, Everywhere, Little Lies, Songbird, Think About Me. There are others but those are gems.
It worked both ways. They both wrote songs about each other which the other had to sing.
Everyone was breaking up, having affairs, etc., during the making of Rumours, and writing songs about it, and still working together as a band. And Rumours became their absolute masterpiece.
Rooms on Fire is a great Stevie solo song. When Fleetwood Mac broke up Stevie tried to join Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Tom told her "there are no girls in the Heartbreakers." But he wrote her a song and performed it with her. It is called Stop Dragging My Heart Around
Stevie is simply the best
Definitely 'Gypsy' is one you should listen to. The official video. Other Stevie-led songs you could do would be the live version of 'Rhiannon' from the Midnight Special which is a different animal than the studio version, a couple of my personal favorites but lesser known 'Beautiful Child' for the harmonies (there is a live version of this as well) or 'Storms'. The live version of Silver Springs from the Dance is great. Live versions of 'Sister of the Moon' and 'Gold Dust Woman' kick as well. You should also consider some other FM ones led by Christine McVie like 'Songbird' 'You Make Loving Fun' or 'Little Lies'. Or more group ones like 'Don't Stop' or 'World Turning'.
Yes yes yes to the live version (official video I think) of Silver Springs! Those daggers she shoots out of her eyes at Buckingham are epic!
Sisters of the moon and beautiful child are my absolute favorite Stevie's songs. Tusk is a masterpiece that gets overshadowed by Rumors.
Rumours is one of the best albums ever made, and "Dreams" is one of the best songs on it. Stevie's voice is beautiful. Everything about this is perfect.
Yes, Gypsy is absolutely worth reacting to. It is from their 1982 album Mirage. Another one of their songs that was a big hit and I love is Sara from their 1979 album Tusk. These both feature Stevie singing.
Hold Me from Mirage features Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham on vocals.
Love your channel, keep up the good work!
The Fleetwood Mac lineup from 1975 to 1987 featured three phenomenal singers & songwriters in Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and Christine McVie. They could harmonize like nobody's business. During the recording of Rumors, not only were Stevie & Lindsey breaking up, but Christine and (bassist) John McVie were heading for divorce. All that turmoil made for a legendary album. While "Dreams" was their only US number 1 song, most of their hits were written by Christine McVie. Check out "You Make Loving Fun, " "Over My Head," and "Songbird." More great ones from Stevie, "Gypsy," "Sara," "Seven Wonders." And from Lindsey "Second Hand News," "Monday Morning," and "Go Your Own Way"
Stevie & Lindsey didn't join the band until 1974, but the Mac's origins go back to 1967. You owe it to yourselves to check out some of their songs from the Peter Green (founding guitarist) era. Including "Albatross," "Oh Well," and "Green Manalishi." But there's lots of great ones.
-JR in Miami
When you reacted to Rhiannon, you did the studio version. If you want to see Stevie put the pedal to the metal, check out the live version on the Midnight Special 1976. O...M...G.
Yes!! You have to react to that version!
Yes DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my all time favorite performances.
I live in.london
Bootlegs are near..........lots written in sly stone's room...........all allegedly.........
Gold Dust Woman is my favorite by them! ♥️ Yes Gypsy is definitely worth a listen!
Listening to that on a 33rpm vinal back in 75 thru 77 with my late wife Louann..
Gypsy is awesome. The instrumentation is beautiful
In concert, she would literally mesmerize the audience. I remember realizing I was leaned forward with my jaw dropped, I looked down the aisle and every single person was doing the same thing. She is a truly truly amazing performer
Don't ignore the rest of the band. Christine MacVie is other female. Mick Fleetwood dated her and plays drums. The group name combines their two names. Christine sings lead on You Make Lovin Fun.
Indeed! Every one of them is KEY to the band sound and success. You’re just off on the relationship. Christine was wife of John McVie, who is part of the band name.
Everyone focuses on Stevie who literally would not have been in the band if Buckinham hadn’t made her coming with him when he was hired a stipulation.
Fleetwood Mac comes from Mick Fleetwood, drummer and John McVie, bassist. John married Christine Perfect (of Chicken Shack) and she became Christine McVie joining Fleetwood Mac 2 years later.
Back when music actually had meaning. True musicians
And this is LIVE, by the way. No tricks, just talent. 💯
The mid 70s were fantastic here's proof.
Yes, it is from the Rumours album. The whole album is amazing! Nice reaction.
This was definitely from the Rumors album. It was the most played. I think everyone at the time knew the words to this start to finish.
Mi adorada Stevie, eterna y hermosa gitana que hacía, hace y hará soñar con su voz... abrazos!
You have to watch the midnight special live performance of Rhiannon from the 70's. Stevie is young and she goes off like you have never seen her. It's AMAZING!
Good one👍
I got the Rumours album when I was 18 and have listened to it throughout my life.(76/77) Gypsy is real good. Stevie was kind of a gypsy witch.
You should check out two more sounds from Stevie about her relationship with Lindsey: Smile At You and Silver Springs. One is wistful and the other angry.
I was in my first year as a student nurse in England when I heard this song and was entranced by Stevie’s voice. Please listen to her singing Sara. Perfection. Yes, this is from Rumours, recorded across the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito from my now home of San Francisco.
The beauty of Fleetwood Mac, is they were all involved with one another at some point during their time as a band. And it made for some dynamic performances. Not many better than watching Lindsay and Stevie sing angrily at each other with hose icy stares in Go Your Own Way. I think it is probably their best “break up song”. They just throw digs back and forth the entire song. You have to watch the live performance, though. I always say, a movie about Fleetwood Mac already has all the ingredients of a blockbuster film.
Gold dust woman..24 Karat Gold Concert. Stevie's band and her interpretation of her song. Magic ,just magic. I think you will love.
Stevie nicks has a very mystical voice it's like a mist comes and takes you away in the night when you listen to her voice
This entire album was a masterpiece. I think it’s one of the top ten best selling albums of all time. Looking forward to you getting back to Linda Ronstadt soon. She has an amazing catalogue. She actually has some beautiful holiday music you could check out. Merry Christmas to your sweet family 🎄🌺✌️
Probably heard this before but Christine McVie who is one of the original members of Fleetwood Mac has an amazing voice and you should check her out.
Actually Christine isn't an original member either, but she joined a few years before Stevie and Lindsey
Christine McVie should get some love. She is a GREAT songwriter and singer. And she was in the group first. Nothing against Stevie.
Great reaction. Props to the least mentioned in the group; bass player John McVie whom is the other singers Christine Mcvie's husband. He is one of the top bassist in this era.... rarely ever mentioned or discussed; like John Paul Jones of Led Zepplin who can play just about any isnstrument. My hat off and recognition to those wonderful background players.
Fun Fact: Lindsey Buckingham never used a pic playing a guitar all done by fingers... a rarity in guitar playing in top bands.
Rumor's was my first album bought when it was released and Fleetwood Mac my first concert in 1978.
Not gonna lie;
if you reviewed the entire “Rumours” album I’d be with you front to back!
