  • Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting Serbia for the second time in less than ten years. Along with Budapest and Paris, Belgrade is one of the stops on the Chinese president's European tour. What is China and Serbia's "steel friendship" based on?

The trade between China and Serbia is nothing peculiar; it's the most ordinary transaction: money for goods. It's elsewhere in the world where trade has become strange: purchasing goods must meet political conditions, must satisfy all of America's demands, must not include parts from a certain country... Everything has become too peculiar, so the normal trade between China and Serbia has unexpectedly become a symbol of friendship. Is it China or Serbia that's wrong, or is it the world that's wrong?
