I love shell hunting BUT watching my daughter who has a traumatic brain injury find the shells she’s been searching for is the absolute BEST. We went to Bird Shoals Island and she found her first sand dollar and she squealed. Her reaction made my whole trip.

What isn’t there to love about shelling…you enter your own magical little world where the only sounds you hear are the waves and the occasional seagulls. You get to breathe in fresh clean salty air as you begin you very own treasure hunt…..eyes darting from left to right to right looking for that tell take shape or hint of color and then you see it …pouncing on it like a cat chasing a mouse. Picking it up in your hand and turning it this way and that way…looking at this wonder nature has created and tossed upon the beach just for you to find. No matter how hot or how cold …the excitement of finding that first shell of the days leads you on a meandering path back and forth across the beach looking for more awesome little treasures.

Shelling has been so fun for me. My grandmother took me shelling and beach combing when I was 3 years old. I still remember that day. I have loved to go looking at the beach since I was 3. It left such a powerful memory in me. Each time I get to go to the ocean is so special since I don’t live very close to it. My favorite thing about shelling is all the beauty to be found at the beach. It really touches my soul.

I absolutely LOVE shelling because it brings joy, contentment & peace to my soul. I love the sand between my piggies, the wind in my hair and the excitement on my son & granddaughter’s faces as we looking up the shells on my shelling app. My granddaughter, whose 6, loves giving them to people on the beach sand says she is “spreading the joyful soul experience thru kindness and love.” I love how she sees the world and how kind her heart is.

...and no matter how many pictures of the beach I take, they are all so different. I can take 100 pics from the same spot and I would have 100 different sunsets or 100 different ocean-scapes! It really is amazing!
I used to go shelling with my mother everytime we went on vacation to the shore . Shelling reminds me of her and how much we loved learning about the native oceanic critters.
Those are the best memories! I have a great memory shelling with both my mom and sister in Florida. Also, my dad searching for shark teeth and my entire family on Sanibel. Oh and a great memory of me and my wife finding hundreds of starfish one day. The beach is a magical memory maker! I love that you have great memories shelling with your mom :)
I love shelling because it amazes me how beautiful most of the shells are!! Shelling is being one with nature and feeling lucky and blessed when finding great shells!!! It’s a treasure hunt every time you go out. I not only hunt for shells but sea beans and toys that are left behind. Shelling also gives me the ability to give back to nature by picking up glass and debris as I shell along!! It’s a quiet and prayerful time for me!!! I LOVE it!!!!!

Growing up on the New England beaches, I formed a great love for shelling, especially the tiny, baby sand dollars. I love the tiny shells as well as the larger ones that you find. I now shell vicariously through you! My heart is always back home there on the beaches you shell. I am a beach-loon because I am crazy for the beach!!

I love the beach! The shells and the waves. It's so calming. Shelling is special to me because my sister, who is 81, and I walk the beach together. She is like a mother to me as I am the youngest of our family. She was already married and out of the house when I grew up. We are special friends and I love that we can collect shells together.

We had a blast shelling on Plum Island this past June! We definitely came home with some beautiful moons!! We are from Ohio so they are a perfect addition to our collection! My favorite things about shelling? The relaxing environment the water offers! !💚💚💚 The sound of the water lapping up on the shore, the birds calling out to each other, seeing the amazing life our waters support in their natural environment, I could go on! My oldest son and I (he's nearly 6 years old) LOVE to watch your shelling videos, and we dream of visiting the NE coast to do some shelling together! So far we've had a few shelling trips to Florida, and we can't wait to travel more and find more shells together. Australia shelling is on our bucket list! I am so excited with this shell hunt giveaway. I had my honeymoon on Sanibel Island just so I could get shells. I even have the clear glass lamps with all my sea shells. I haven't had an opportunity in many years to go shelling. What I love about shell hunting is being on the beach, walking in the water, enjoying the smells and the sound of the ocean. I love the little critters. The bonus is finding the beautiful shells and bring them home to keep. I still have my box of shells from when I was a child. I now have my Mom and Grandma's shells.

I live in south central Oregon about 4 hours away from the Pacific ocean. I love sand dollars because that's usually all I've found there. So I've come to love the moons, welks, by watching shelling videos and living vicariously through you shellers! Thank you!!
Do you watch SWF beach life, Shellcade and Solace in shelling? They are 3 of my favorites! Also...the sand dollars you find. Are they similar to the ones I find here, but just the petaloid pattern in the top is a bit different?

I love shelling and the way it relaxes me. The beach, water, and the solitude, rejuvenates me. Working in healthcare with mental health patients I sure need it. The sound of the waves hitting the shore and bringing treasures to me so I can share them with friends. I just wish I could live closer so that I can go shelling once a week.

Shelling reminds me so much of growing up and visiting my grandparents in Connecticut. My grandfather and I would go by bicycle every day to Long Island Sound (where I learned how to swim) and wade and pick up shells. Mostly it was oyster, mussel, scallops, jingles, razor clams, and lots of broken shells. I had so much fun!

Hi! From Maryland . My love of shelling is the journey I take to the beach ,sand and water .I hear the wind and waves and birds
I smell the salt and touch the shells and casings and driftwood and I know they had a journey that I’m going to make into something to share with others. Shelling is peace for the heart , exercise for the body and All our senses activated the regenerate our mind ., as an artist ,these are some of my most creative moments . I get so excited when you find that huge monster shell or the tiny blue one. So much joy radiates for all of us.

I love the excitement I feel when I find a perfect shell to me. It's not always a perfectly formed shell either.
Yes! When I saw that banded whelk rolling my heart was like 😍 then when I caught it I was so happy. Shells make me joy!
When out on the beach, I'm able to clear my head and find total peace. When looking at the shells, it takes me to that happy place. And also, you never know what treasures you'll find!
I always feel like I'm on an endless treasure hunt! I am always looking for an old shipwreck, a doubloon or a treasure chest filled with gold! Hahaha Thanks so much for watching!
First of all, thank you for all you do, especially because you are the only Sheller I watch who also appreciates the beauty and majesty of rocks. When I am watching some of my favorite CZcams Shellers besides you I see them pass by rocks all the time I would have picked up. You literally Rock! The beach is my place of peace and the beauty of nature, the patterns in the sand that waves leave, cool seaweed, Shells and birds fill my soul with joy. Mobility problems prevent me from shelling in person. So I love shelling with you and others on CZcams every week. I love your enthusiasm and joy at finding a beautiful shell it's so contagious! I would be so excited to be sat in a big shell wrack line and to find all of my favourite shells.

The beach/ocean holds the most amazing treasures. How does one choose from them all? I think that my favorite thing about shelling is the anticipation of the surprise that each find will bring. It makes you feel like you are the wealthiest person alive! Than, of course, there is the breeze blowing through your hair and the grand roar of the waves as they crash on the shore. I love dancing with an attentive Ghost Crab. I love that you can go to the same spot on the beach and it looks like a different beach, with different surprises. I’d better stop, cause I could go on and on!
Hahaha...I can go on forever too! I have never seen a ghost crab! It's on my list! I also live that every section of the beach is so different! Thanks so much for tuning in!
Every shell I have I can see all the memories my family I and made. It brings me so much joy to remember there smiling faces every time they found a shell. This is why I love shelling !

My kids will still go on vacation with me and my husband (my son is a Sargent United States Marine) and my daughter real estate) We get to the beach my husband will take a shell bucket and say he is going for a walk. He comes back with shells but will tell you he didn't go shelling. I guess the shells just jumped in the bucket. My kids will still come over to me with shells in hand, with the same smiling faces. My son will never admit this. Please remember if you find pink deep

I love the sights and smells of the beach, the sand, water, animals, very cool. Looking out at the ocean makes me feel very small and insignificant. It is also amazing how many different shells are out there.
Yes! I agree. Sometimes it helps put things into perspective. Sometimes a bad day or life issues happen and they feel so big. But, when you stand next to the ocean it helps to see how insignificant some things are and helps me focus on what's truly important. 😌

We don't find many shells here on the part of the Oregon coast where we live, but we still love walking on the wet sand and listening to the sounds of the birds and surf. We look for agates and sea glass and just enjoy the fresh sea air.
Ohhhhh!!! Agates! I would love to find an agate! I am hoping to buy a lapidary saw soon and agates are the stones I look forward to slicing the most! Do you find lots of agates there!?

My favorite thing is the anticipation of what the Sea will gift me with, will it be a shell? a pretty piece of glass or an unusual stone! AND.. the ever present desire to find a shark tooth :)

I think the thing i love about shelling is the hunt. Its my favorite thing to do! Its like hunting for treasure. Natures' jewel's. When i find a good shell i go OH!! Its so exciting. Unfortunately I can only go shelling when i go on vacation. I live in northern Wisconsin...but i get to go shelling every time i watch one of your videos! So i am so grateful for that, THANKYOU!!

Shelling is amazing because it is so unpredictable, its like a treasure hunt, you never know what awaits you. I also love the variety from shells to sea glass to critters! For me shelling is also the stress killing time! As always loving your video and those MOONS!! Xx

I love your videos. I love shelling as it gives me peace…For me it is like a meditation where I can put all my stress behind me and just focus on the now. Finding sand dollars reminds me of my Mom as I never found one until I went to Cranes beach just after she passed. I am a car free human and mostly shell at places on the T. Your videos allow me to visit beautiful Plum Island. I wish the Newburyport T were closer to. Those wonderful beaches

Thank you so much for watching! If you win you can do a city shell hunt. You can have someone hide the shells around the city and then you can search for them. Kim and I did that once. We went on a trip to VT. There is no ocean there so we took shells and hid them around the house for each other to find 🤣🤣
