      @@FirestormX9 Still doesn't make sense why d15 is the best for 9 years.

    Deep Cool has come on (this year) with great performing, great looking, and vg priced pc components ….AIO’s, cpu coolers, fans, cases etc 🥰😇💪👍. Cudo’s to them for really shaking up the market and pushing its competitors to do a lot more than just adding lcd screens and rgb imo 👍💪. Awesome review once again Nada & the Techtesters team 🥰😇……we can always count on a very informative and comprehensive look at a product and its features and performance! Cheers 🍻

    I recently did a build using a Noctua cooler for the 13th generation Core i5 processor. I did not pick the D15; it is something a little less massive. I also added on some Noctua fans in the case in addition to the 2 that are on the Noctual cooler. The person I built this for is very sensitive to noise levels. I'm pleased to say I have not had a single complaint about noise -- not one. So at this point I feel a Noctua cooler plus Noctua brand fans are my best bet for a reasonably priced build that keeps the cpu reasonably cool for a person who is writing books and conducting extensive academic research. If the DeepCool product has more fan noise I won't build with it. I'm not sure what quality of support either Noctua or DeepCool offer their customers. Fortunately, Noctua has really great installation videos and that helps a lot. But these videos are only one part of the overall support level.

    It looks like they prioritized aesthetics a little more with this cooler, which is fine since it still does fairly well going by your charts and Hardware Canucks'. Makes me wonder if someone will make an absolute D15 killer (beyond margin of error difference, noise-normalized) soon, though, because clearly the new generation of GT-like fans everyone is making are quite good. I personally want a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 with Silent Wings 4 fans since I like Be Quiet's sound signature.

    It was a mistake to not put fans in front of the case. The only negative to the Assassin-IV is the Pull-Pull fan design which means there is a lot of resistance getting air into the first fan.
    This means the Assassin-IV is extremely reliant on a case design that can deliver lots of fresh air to the immediate vicinity surrounding the front of the cooler. Its unfair to try and test such a unique design with no regard to intake air.

That being said, the Deepcool AK500 I'm using is already plenty good for my CPU, so won't upgrade anytime soon

  • @zig131
    @zig131 Před rokem +1

    The rear fan is right up against the rear fan of the Assassin IV causing turbulence and likely hampering performance.
    The Assassin IV is designed around the very fair assumption that you'll have a case intake fan blowing right at it which as was even pointed out is a very realistic scenario.
    Whereas the Noctua benefits more from the exhaust fan.
    The test should have been designed for equity - not equality.

This cooler certainly wins in the elegance category but it would be massive overkill for me. I'm in Canada. If I were living in Buenos Aires or some place, this might be an option. Adding the same response as in the other video for others to see:
      It's not that simple. Often people confuse the power or the energy of sound with the actual perceived increase in noise to a human. If you compare a 35 to a 38 dB GPU you wouldn't call it twice as loud. In practice, you'd probably say that one "sounds" anywhere from 10 to 20% louder.

    The Noctua NH-D15 was dethroned and kicked like a street dog four years ago by DeepCool Assassin III. So half the review in a clip was wrong about Noctua. It's good for the Austrian company to come up with something really good to reclaim the crown as it continues to be held by Deepcool.
    I know they have a new NH-D15 version two from Noctua, but it will officially debut in Q2 2024.
    At CES 23, it was only shown at their booth, but there was no technical information and no testing. At least from what I saw then.

    Noctua U12a is better than both of these coolers.

    The NH-U12A is better than the D-15 anyway and its smaller. There is a reason why the NH-U12A cost more than the D-15.
