Yeah that was the part that I could not figure out the first few days. Love the unit! 6 years and going strong and filters can be washed. It saved me thousands of dollars from not going to dirty car wash vaccumms. The convenience is a plus too .

Battery dead after few uses and it cant be replaced.

They should exchange it if that is the case. My is running six years on its original battery.
