Nashville Metro Council, need to update Metro’s Rental Codes, because they are minimum, & does not require A/C & other. Nashville Slum Lords, take advantage of Low Income renters, & has been happening for decades.
The Madison complex I live in was built in 1972 and there are three main problems... 1. The plumbing ~ due to the pollution from the Cumberland River the water pipes clog up real quick, sinks, tub, and toilet, we have have to sometimes use a plunger to unclog them. 2. The electric work ~ due to old wiring the lights flicker, it's difficult to completely charge up our phones and laptops, there are times that we have brown outs due to the old wiring too. 3. The bugs ~ last due to the complex being old there are bugs that live in the walls, and sometimes I can't eat due to seeing a bug near my food. Yes there are some maintenance and other things being worked on to deal with the problems, but there are some opposition for the property owner that is delaying progress.
If you live in a home that you owned, and metro knew that you had these three problems, using old mayor Carl deans words," those are quality of life issues." Those "quality of life issues" would get you code violations from metro, then a "condemnation of property" if not taken care of in "due time" and they would bulldoze your house, send you a bill, and if you couldn't pay the bill, they take the property and sell it to their "buddies" below market price on the courthouse steps ( the internet). It looks like more and more METRO CODES works for businesses and against the private individual property owner. 😂😂😂 HILARIOUSLY INSANE.
Hey WKRN, May I ask why it is okay for apartment owners to raise rent by 100% but when a gas station raises gas during a shortage the law comes down on them ? Units that were 690.00 just a few years ago are now 1800.00 , why is that legal
This is disgusting shame on the owners the whole world see this what a breathing ground for disease COVID, hepatitis dysentery hold city of Nashville going to be on quarantine with fever and coughing respiratory infections
Nothing is going to happen. They do not care about black or brown people and NEVER will. You just have to try your best to pull yourself out of a situation like this. It does take money to survive and you just have to figure out how to get more of it Brainstorm!

Apartment appears nice but it has underlying major issues. I applaud the tenant for standing up for herself. I hope the city will take action
