I'll be doing this for my own house and I'll be adding radiant heat. I'd love to see a series on that.

I’m enjoying this underground series.. I started learning the trade on the service side of things and once I got my license I stayed in service so needless to say I never get a chance to do any grounds or top outs.
    Keep the vids coming!!!!!

We’re required to bed the pipe with gravel here! My least favorite part about ground roughs is concrete guys messing stuff up. Crushing pipes with a bobcat. Knocking stacks out of walls. Puncturing water lines. Now I find out when they’re pouring and I watch them like a hawk.

  • @ImYourHucklebery117

We usually glue all the caps before the Rough-in and make a small hole on every single cap, we start filling the Rough-in with water and once water starts coming out of the lowest pipe, i grab a flat head srew amd put some true blue pipe dope and screw it in, that way we don't have to wipe the pipe to glue the caps and have to wait for them to dry.
We also use T cone plugs with a pice of duct tape

the foam, and then roofing felt paper nice! no messing with foam at pour day! easy cut off later! also no messing around with rock if needed under slab, pipe is protected!

This is such a great video man thank you. It's kinda crazy to me how if every 28 inches equals 1 psi then a ten foot water column would only be like 4 psi just seems like a low number, I guess that's cause it's dwv?

Great video, when I get invited to underground which isn't often, the trenches are already dug, it was cool to see the string lines and layout. I work on commercial, but residential is where my heart is. I'm in Utah we can test with water from March till oct, after that we use air. Did you use schedule 40 or 80?

A weld fitting your glue and primer must be wet otherwise potentially come apart when you put glue on dry primer

By the state and IPC code is required the pipes be identified my good man. Also why you don’t mention a lot of things you do code required. Like the quality of trench, backfill, frost line and so on.

I try too. South Carolina is different . frost line is 0 , so we don't even think about it. My videos were for entry level plumbing. A lot of times I have covered it in another video. Thanks for watching .

the termites eat the cardboard before the concrete is poured? who cares if they do after the slab is poured because it comes out anyway? makes no sense.
