    Thank you. I’m about to start doing underground as a helper to round myself into a three phase plumber.

    Thanks, a lot of other slab rough-in plumbing videos show the pipes and fixtures already in place. It's good to be able to see how you do the layout.

    Plumbing apprenticeship instructor here. This video series was extremely helpful to my apprentices!
    I have several apprentices asking me if I could reach out to you to see if you would be able to produce an advanced underground video series, for say roughing in a commercial bathroom for a school or stadium where you have multiple floor mounted toilets and lavatories and how to set a floor drain for underground work.
    I know that is asking a lot… but you would be the first to do it on CZcams… You’d be a legend!!!

      That would be neat. I teach in a classroom setup as well. We just do residential . We do get a pool house once or twice a year. Those bathrooms are small ,But there are floor drains and trap primers. I'll see what I can do.

    This is what I've been looking for. I have been looking for weeks on and off. I hate CZcams's stupid algorithm where educational videos are sidetracked. Hope your videos get a lot of views.

    These vids make plumbing looks so much fun with a grown man laying in the dirt.. wish I would have found the trade when I was lost youth in my 20's. Would have had direction and made a ton of money.

    dude keep making videos like this, there is a ton of information on CZcams, but I'm now going to build a small guest house on my own and I can't find complete information step by step on how to mark and install pipes under my concrete slab, how it all works from what it consists and what first of all you need to pay attention, so as not to have problems in the future

    If it's a 2x6 wall I use a nice straight 2x6x10 on the flat, measure and stake it in place. I can then lay the framing on it so my vents/drains/stack etc. get laid out in a stud space. 30+ years and it works great.

    If the exterior wall had a brick ledge form board where would you measure from?

    Thank you for the video. Do you use a plumb line to mark the sand below the string, to make it easier to measure distances from the string?

    Wouldn’t you subtract 1 1/2” if measured from outside of form board

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 3 lety +2

      No you add it , just think about it. it's making the distance longer

      Imagine you want to land 48" away from the outside wall. If you put your tape on the form board (that is 1 1/2" thick) and measure 48" away, you are actually 1 1/2" SHORT of 48" because your tape includes the form board thickness. Thus, you need to ADD that form board thickness... so you go to 49 1/2" to actually get to 48" away from the outside wall. Remember, the outside wall is on the INSIDE of the form board. That's where the concrete will end.
