- My friend Xavier needed help changing out the clutch in his '65 f100 so I came over to change it and decided to film the process.

12:26 "Thing has alot of torque for an inline. But, then again, it IS an inline" Me too Craig. Me too.
My first vehicle when I turned 16. 1965 F-100 2wd longbed. 6 cyl, 3 speed on column. Great truck!
Nice helping a friend a cruise with all your friends and there trucks would be sweet.
Looking forward to this new project. I got a 66 F100 I’ve been redoing and love it. Long bed for the win!!
I had a similar problem of not wanting to go in gear with my 63 f100 3 on the tree. It was the body and chassis moving around and messing with the linkage.
Love the sixty five. Definitely do more videos with it. Soo much room in that ending bay with that 300ci.
Clutch is going out on my 69 with a 360/T18 so I'm here doing some research lol. Very informative thank you for the video
Singing my song! I love my '65s! My F100 is from Idaho, and clean like Xaviers. Love non-Michigan trucks! No rust! Nice ride man!
Isn’t it great when a simple project goes from “that was and easy clutch change” to “we spent 5 extra hours because of two bolts” gotta love old cars
awesome truck cool to see another project on the channel!
Great video, I enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!
Enjoy the video great to see them old trucks are still rolling and that a younger generation is keeping them alives
The new camera looks great! Did a good job under the truck
It's definitely the linkage. I have the same on my 66 F100 with a 351 Cleveland. The linkage is sloppy and if you don't "center up" between 1st and 2nd the pins on the linkage don't line up and you won't be able to get any gear until you find the hole for that pin to go into again.
I always adjust till there’s about 1 inch of free play on the pebble. Love the old fords, I’ve had way to many lol
I’m a junior in high school and I’ve got a 65 f100 with a 352 had a fmx I converted it to a c6 though
Ben #20 I rather have it truck than the new truck man I have a 77 f150 with a 400 c6
Have that same shifter in my Mustang, the way the linkage rods are bent when speed shifting they catch each other in those bends and keep it from shifting at all; design flaw of the shifter.
Nice job!
Gotta love that 300 L6
Rebuilt mine and love the thing top to bottom
I like that truck great engine saves gas good video
You should still take the flywheel off and get it refaced
Jonah Zwinger if he doesn’t he will get clutch chatter.
@@smathet7766 my point exactly
And it will continue slipping I fought mine because I didn’t resurface it and it ended up being glazed
65 had to be my favorite year for ford trucks
Noice e46 m3 just chilling in the garage
This video makes me exited about my 63!!
My 88 k5 four speed does the same thing upon heavy acceleration ..... meaning foot to the floor through second , third fights a little to go in but always does
Got to love those easy jobs but then it turns out to bite you in the rear when bolts break once putting back together love them old trucks
You should make a video on how to adjust a z bar
Seeing the cruise would be cool
sweet truck X
Love old sixes!
YES DO THE CRUISE
Thank you.
These guys remind me of officers Reed and Malloy from One Adam 12...
Listening to Alabama and workin on an old Ford Truck. aint much better than that.
Should have replaced the bearing boys! I would have done the flywheel and new clutch for all that work
Sweet video man
I don't think that anyone has mentioned this yet but you might want to drain flush and then refill the Trans, Had a '95 Chevy 2500 ext cab that would do the same thing and I got lucky and it wasn't the clutch or the trans that was shot. Besides it is cheap insurance to do a good service on it so that it lasts another 50 years
great videos
A nice fix.
Probably one of my favorite vids. Just like me and my buddy. Learning and working on our trucks. His are 65 and 66 and I have dual 77’s. 300 6 is what I just got done with. Love it keep rockin brotha!
Could be the synchronizers is why it’s having a hard time going into gear at a certain speed.
A cruse would be great!!
Nice Ford
That's a cool truck
Since Ford never put a three spd on the floor in pickups. Yeah it was a three on the tree
What a beautiful 65. Weird how the clutch slipped when it looked perfectly fine. My clutch gets a little weird from time to time, especially if I haven't driven it in a few days. I usually just pump it a few times and it works perfectly again.
Cars are weird.
Could be rear main seal leaking oil into the clutch area
Hello from Texas i myself am still dailey driving my Dads (RIP) 1966 F-100 Long Bed with a semi original 352 FE Big Block if you ever need advise on your F-100 drop me a line as i grew up and learned my mechanic skills on this truck it has well over 300-000 miles and has never left me walking in my 66 year old life the only thing i can advise you is try not to rest your hand on the stick shift because you are putting undue stress on the snychros in the tranny
Man that looked like A nice fun afternoon nice truck. Man that hat is sick!!! Where can I find it It'll go great with my 95 f 1 fity.
I would say the through out barring us touching all the time and there is ment to be 1/8th between the fins and the barring qhen rhe clutch is fully relived. If not it will burn out the barring in no time
Did you install the power steering? If so, is a new one or from another vehicle? I have the same truck & have been researching PS. Thanks for the video
I have a 65 f100 I have great plans for that ends at money😂
By the looks of oil on the bell housing, clutch disc contamination.
What is the size of bolts from the transmission (4) to bellhousing ?
So in the end it only required adjustment?
hi
nice vid :)
love your channel
Hey I’d recommend you going back and blurring out the street name, you never know what freaks are watching lol. Nice video though
He should block out license plates as well. There are websites that provide the address.
Is all of California affected by the new loud exhaust law?
Or just certain parts
Nice
I can hear the throw out bearing
Is your buddy a firefighter? I noticed thin red line flag
Love the truck! Does he have a channel?
Hey man.
Not sure how this guy has 212K subs but it isnt for his camera skills. Also, really breezed through most of the work. I was searching for how-to clutch videos and this popped up. Could have been very informative but instead it FF'ed through almost everything. Oh well.
+Thecraig909 are you in the 909 area?
@Thecraig909 where did you buy that ford hat
Israel D. Martinez Hobby Lobby has some that look like the one Craig is wearing.
240 and 300 where in these trucks in 65. Most are 240s as it was the first year the 300
What's the song in the beginning of the video?
At the very start is Zac Brown Band-as shes walking away and when he walks toward the truck its Alabama-Im in a hurry
Clutch adjustment, or pressure plate went bad.
I like the longer vids bro! Btw on insta I’m @boystoys74
Should have checked for free play first
those floor shifters suck
