    I’d say a steamer would help form the carpet in place. Worth a try.

    Looks great. If the carpet is really bugging you, get some double sided carpet tape and use where you need it. It holds strong and unlike glue, you can take the carpet out without ruining it if you ever need to. If you do that , give the carpet a couple of days (preferably warm days) to let it settle before putting the tape on.
    On a side note, I recently found your channel and have enjoyed watching it. As an older guy that has been working on one project or another for the last 30 years, it's cool to see a younger generation taking an interest in older vehicles and actually repairing them. Too many "car enthusiast" today, young and old, just want to bolt on aftermarket stuff and would be at a loss if they ever stumbled into a junkyard. Keep up the good work.

    Keep up the good work! U should do a fiberglass repair on ur dash and add filler sand and paint it will be like new. Use glue on the carpet after the summer or towards the end so it can take the wrinkles out the summer will help

    @kilroysmith6539 Před 5 lety

    The viewer that said use steam was spot on and while it is still warm and damp put weight on it for a couple of days. On the dash if you want to make the crack less noticeable use some black RTF and wipe it off except where it fills the crack. RTF will stay flexible even with the hot sun. If you want to use some spray adhesive someplace use it on the gas tank between the seats to cover up the gas tank to a point halfway behind the seats. Looks good keep rolling.

    to fix that crack real easy just use some black RTV. take a old tooth brush and gently clean it out.spread it out thin but just over filling it. let it set up some and whip it flush with your bare finger. then take the brush and tap it brush down and it will look like the pattern grain.after a day or two even you will forget about it. and the RTV will not expand and fall out and keep it glued together..i fixed 3 large cracks on my 89 lincoln

      James Cooper is right. If the cracked dash pad is that annoying,then recover it. It’s an inexpensive fix, and you’ll find it educational and fulfilling that you did it yourself, rather than go out and spend $400 on something that you’ll eventually not really notice anymore, or sell later on.
