RIGHHTTT?? instantly stopped watching! P.S. -> 15yrs coaching experience, the goalie actually has the hardest job on the ice, requires an extremely unique and strong mind.
they are the best skaters on the team, the ones who see the whole ice and therefore are a vital part of the team. I suppose this coach doesn't know the standard 5 ways to break-in , & 5 ways to break-out... 🤔 a goalie never communicates? Fool!

I coach rec and I short shift my own kid and make him play off positions so I don't look biased. My kid gets pissed at me every game...lol
Parent coaches tend to be to the opposite extreme and become biased against.
Don't know any coach who has a kid on the team that doesn't give their own kid a harder time ha

Yes - although not in hockey. In Baseball yes. BUT - I've been a bad hockey coach. I would say more lazy because I used uninspired drills over and over again. Especially my first 2 seasons. I feel bad looking back. But I was kind and supportive and all of that - but coaches really need to put the work in to make good practice and development plans. :). How about you Matthew? Have you had a bad hockey coach?

I was like 12..and when he got fired him and his wife tried to get my dad fired but it never worked..i think he got fired cuz he wouldnt coach at all and double shift kids he knew that were not that good

I believe that if you have a few bad kids, you put them on offense. If you put them on defense , they might turn the puck over in the defensive zone leading to slot shots and goals, but if they’re on offense, you may not score but at least you shouldn’t get scored on.

Had to stop watching once you said theres nothing to teach goalies and they have the easiest job. This is an incorrect statement. It is by far the hardest job on the ice. Not only do you have to stop the puck but you have to be mentally prepared for anything that can happen after letting a goal in and staying focused
Crowley King it is satire. I said something obviously incorrect because it makes me laugh. I'm aware goalie is tough - and it's also true many coaches don't know what to do with goalies during practice.
Culturama well then I apologize. A simple drill for a goalie is have a player on the left faceoff circle and another in the right and get the goalie to slide back and forth alternating shots and trying to stop him or herself at the perfect time
