I started out Baptist. I attend a Amish Mennonite church. This is where the Lord has planted us. Trying to honor our Lord and Savior who has freed us from the bondage of sin.
Every denomination has lost souls and also faithful followers. Baptists, Methodists, Amish, etc. Denominations don't matter. Are you a faithful follower, saved by grace. Repent and be saved.

Amen brother and sister > I live in an Amish community in Tennessee, I see exactly what the young man is talking about. It sadens me deeply. Some of my closest Amish friends I try to talk about Salvation, but I have to be very careful & pick my times. I so love being in this community though. Praise God >

Good. We in this Church of whom Christ is the head, can use the strength of purpose the Amish have. Without all the fear and bondage. And elevation of work for Salvation that can only be obtained by faith. All of us “English” are better for your faith among us.
Now we are prone to all the things Amish say we are out here. However it is the very freedom that we have, that makes it so one need not fear reprisal for eating meat offered to idols. If you remember your Romans.

Amen. Thank you for sharing, brother. I do see though that the Amish has been able to keep their lives and their minds not so full of everything that's going on in life or this world I should say. . They are about the only few left that are simple and innocent in the way of this world. I know the Amish religion don't line up with God. I thank God to hear that there are former Amish getting out on there own and lining up with God. It makes them even better in the eyes of the Lord. I pray they stay God's way and don't look out into this world at all the things it can distract you with. It's not going to be easy because this world has a lot to distract the mind with. It has a lot of knowledge out there that we don't even need to know. Hang in there with your family and keep praying that God helps you to keep looking straight at him so this world can't distract you from him. Amen Amen

I know that leaving a cult, a way of life, what you've taught all these years must be very emotional for people involved BUT with lies you've been living in those communities and with lies you leave them. There is no such thing as a sign of God. You were fed up with the lies you've been fed all your lives, you were ready to leave and you left. So simple.

The one baptism that Paul stated is a Spiritual baptism into Christ not a water baptism.
Amish and Mennonite people are a preserving element in our world where all you see is cultural rot of post modernity. They are the most pure society that could exist in a fallin world. That is not to say that they don't have their quirky ways, faults or short comings, even we have that as Christ loving people. Their brand of Christianity may not be our cup of tea, but generally speaking they are decent people. I love their way of life. They are right - modernity and affluence does corrupt our world view and service to God. I love the Amish and Mennonite people.
You nothing about the Amish. I lived next to an Amish Community. For starters they run puppy mills. They throw tractor trailers on the back of their fields and keep the dogs in the dark with little food and no veterinary care. Whatever survives the heat and deplorable conditions gets sold. They let their 15 year olds throw massive booze and drug soaked parties where 200-300 Amish kids come all the way from other states to join in the debauchery. This goes on for a year during which a lot of Amish teens become drug addicts. They don’t educate their kids past the 8th grade level so they have practically no way of getting decent jobs if they choose to leave. Basically it’s build cabinets in this wood shop for the rest of your life or we abandon you with no life skills. It’s backward as heck and again you are believing the sanitized Hallmark Channel version of the Amish. They’re kids are basically slaves.
