This channel isn’t advertised enough, there’s great content here too and I just discovered it today after over a year of watching the main channel
So glad this popped in my recommended I didn't know u guys covered the miata
195/55/R15 on 8J wheels would be perfect! Race car feel . God I miss my Miata so much
Amazing work, guys! Now you must do a video about what wheels fit the ND. You have to
Can confirm that you can run a 13x8 +0 on any NA6 miata, and if you have an NA8 or NB(like me) you can swap to NA6 brake caliper brackets(and of course rotors and pads), the calipers are the same as long as you don't have the sport NB brakes. I had no fitment issues after I rolled and lightly pulled the fenders.
I'm glad I found this I've been indecisive for a long time but definitely getting those mst rimd
love the video thanks for the tips!
This guy looks like Johan Hill
So much effort on these videos, yet so little views
Great video! I have a set of 15x10 et -50 with 225/45 toyos on mine with custom widebody. RIP wheel bearings.
There are almost none Miatas in Arg, but here i am lol, for the content!
need nc miata video like this.
I'm running 16×9+20 BBS with Federal 595 on stock suspension
Run a 205 50 15 on a 15x9 (dekagrams work well), fender rolling and pulling and or cutting/spacing definitely required (see the time attack miata from UMS tuning, just search for the time attack miata video from hoonigan). By far the most functional setup on track until you get some serious power going. YMMV, I'm running lowered spec HD Bilsteins.
I'm running 15×8 dyna roars they cheap but hey I'm not doing anything too crazy. Also tires are hancook ventus v2s all seasons pretty decent all around tire I live in michigan were seeing snow and they handle surprisingly well
I am running 15"x9" on my NB Miata without any pulls or rolls. No rubbing. 225/45-15 Hankook RS3s.
I’m looking into a 15/8 setup for my NB hope it works a well as these
Crazy to see my old car on the cover I miss it so much 🥰😢
Hey what’s the body kit on it (black car right?)
I have some 15x7s +20 that you don’t have much of in your gallery, but I’m out of country and will have to upload it later on when I finally get them on!
Miata ND power ! Same episode, same car, but newer model, ND all the way !!!
I was looking for 15x9+25’s before in a work meister s12p for my Miata/: I miss that car mucho
Can you guys do one for the NB.please
Any plans on doing other generations of Miata?
GREAT VIDEO IM WONDERING HOW 225 WOULD FIT ON A 15X8
All these examples need to mention if they're on stock suspension or not
I was lowkey hoping my car was featured but my car is like every other one on here.
what are you running with your tires?
This episode for the NB?
I’m running 17x9 255 40 17 wheels on the 07 Nc fenders slightly pulled
Ive already been down that rail roaf
☀️☀️
15x7 +40 Racelines, 225/45-15 Toyo Proxes R1R, stock fenders on Ohlins coilovers on my NA.
Can you guys do the Mk1 Audi TT?
Do the nc!!
can you make a video like this for the nc miata?
What about the guys running flares and want to be wide? I'm looking at 15x9 or 15x10 with 245-40-15s or 245-45-15
5:25 daaaayyyym
do a 2016+ MX5 wheel fitment
Ayyyy my Miata at 4:00!!! So funny seeing it in a video lol
🤙🏻
Mines at 3:25!!!
@@Loslost dude, hella clean 😌
Bro did you have to roll your fenders by any chance?? Or not?
Would love to see Mazdaspeed 3
I’m buying a Miata in the next coming little while (waiting for the coronavirus to finish its thing so I can sell my car and buy a Miata), is it possible to get wheels that would fit anywhere from 225’s - 245’s? I very rarely see Miatas with tires anything wider than a 215 but was looking to go for a pretty aggressive setup for the track / spirited driving. I know that you can still do pretty well with some stickier 195’s but was still looking to go for some sticky and wide tires that are at least 225’s.
I have 15x8 +20s with a 205/50/15 and I had to roll my fenders a good amount can’t even imagine 15x9.5 -15 in the front that’s insane
Did you had any problems with 205 tires on 8rims ? Is it dangerous or its ok ? Thank you !
14x6 et 13 Hayashis on mine
If I get a miata here in a week or so I will definitely be getting a set of bronze wheels
Would 15x8 +15 with 225 45 r15 tires fit on stock suspension? My coilovers will come late so just wondering on stock suspension.
Running 15x9 6UL on my NA.
Any good wheels for Miata’s with pandem wide body kit?
Do the e60 5 series
That rpf1's at 3:30 are not 15x8 +28.. they look like 15x7 +35/+41
15x8 have a concave face
Yup
Paused it there, not much fact checking by these boys
Correct
I just bought some 205/50R15 tires (the V2 Concept 2’s) now I’m looking at rims, I’ve heard 15”x6.5 and 15”x7 are both good choices. I personally like the 15”x6.5’s, any recommendations or advice?
15x8 is where its at
From my experience a NB runs best on 195/50- 15 Enkei with Hankook semi slicks RS 3-222 speed index V. Wider tires the car tends not to run straight @ 200 + Kph. What maybe only matters here in Germany... ND runs good on stock rims 205/ 45 -17 + 20 mm spacers front and rear.. My was equipped from factory with Bridgestone RE 001 speed index Y , I am OK with it but when they are worn out I will change to semi slicks. Both Cars had the factory Bilstein package and the here in Germany from Mazda supplied slightly lowering Eibach springs. Additional information: My ND is running Km/h what comes after the 240 - marking...
I think NB1 is set up in such a way that it can have quite nervous handling at higher speeds.
that first mx5 with the long champs, anyone any idea of wheel and tire spec?
so i know im a year late to this... but will XXR 571 18x10 25 wheels and Toyo Proxes R888R Tires fit well on a miata without any danger or what have you. (rubbing and that kind of thing.) im running a pandem widebody soon and will but fenders if needed. Edit: the wheel dimentions are 18x10+25 and the tires i can order to fit 18¨ rims but i dont know how wide the sidewall is or inflated overall diameter
Running 15x9 +25 Advanti R1's on some Toyo Proxes R1R's, that need to be switched out. I'd like some tire poke, but I think the fitment would be better, if I use an adjustable upper control arm. My car's fenders were pulled out pretty aggressively, so even 225's aren't poking through. If the control arms don't flush it out 100%, I'll probably run as small of a wheel spacer as I can. (logically, and good quality of course.)
Just bought 16x9s for my Miata . My fenders were also pulled very aggressively lmao . Have any trouble with the width ?
We need a mazda 3 vid
16x9 et15, 195 40
Honda ek hatches pleaaaassseeee
15x10 +25 with 245/40 tires is as agressive as possible with stock fenders in NA/NB. massive roll and pull needed tho
245 width tyres on a Miata is nuts. Bigger is not always better people 😭
@@R03333 245 (I run it on a 9.5x15+25 work Meister S1 2P) isn't enough tbh, I still spin that through 3rd.
@@grantbowers2319 that won't be the case for 90% of Miatas, from stock and up to quite modified. What's yours running power wise to achieve that?
@@R03333 lol, I'm just saying that if you wanna go big that's how big you can go. And I'm running 450 wheel (before nitrous) at 8,500rpm out of a destroked and built 6.0 LS
Edit: I'll have it on the gallery by the spring when it's 100% done.
@@grantbowers2319 that's a justified reason for those big boy wheels then, 1.6 NA's with an eBay cold intake and huge wheels make me weep
Hey guys
How much mm should I lower my MX5 NB to look good on 15' rims? I would like to have it like the NB on 4:50 :)
I'd love to get a Miata. Main reason to be able to work on a car and learn all the different parts and modifications of a car, as well as have something fun to drive. Are there any pointers to know about in terms of what year/model to look for? Currently I have my eyes set for a 1996 Na Miata
Just avoid getting before 1990, because the early models had the so called "short nose crankshafts", which would break real easy while torquing down the crankshaft nut. But beside that you can do nothing wrong with the model years after 1990 :)
PS: save yourself a lot of trouble and get one without rust, even if they are a little bit more expensive, it's worth it.
@@TheSnipercorp thanks! I'm actually gonna go check out a 1993 which is in a burgundy color this Monday! According to the owner, there's 0 rust. Alot of things in the engine bay were maintenanced and fluids changed, so seems like a good deal (on paper). Only gripe is the high mileage count, being at 170k kilometers, and supposedly some rock chips in the paint. I'll keep a keen eye out for it though. Any suggestions on any additional things to look out for?
@@PTSOPHOTO 2 years late but did you end up getting a miata??
@@smugpug3093 LOL yeah I got one! 1993 in classic red. Having a blast with it and learning so much
finally... Love you guys :)
EDIT: does the specs apply to the third gen?
They probably have a greater range on the larger diameters, but I'd be surprised if they could run anything smaller than a 15
These specs are for first gen. They also work for second gen but with NB you are able to go a little more agressive. Third gen is completely different tho
@@jameshaulenbeek5931 So offsets and width should be similar?
@@winstonzhang3111 possibly. Like Grant said though, those specs apply to first gen, probably second gen too, but third gen is gonna be different.
Most likely, the same widths and offsets will apply, but it may also accept wider wheels and a larger offset range.
Chances are good you won't be able to go smaller than 15"
Can you do some for the 2nd gen miata. The NB.
We can definitely look into it! 🤘
9 inchs wides fine to
Do the second gen!
15 inch by -12 offset is that gonna fit
What do people use for the tounges?? I’d appreciate it!
I run a 15x8 for grip runs with a 225 45 r15 tire.
would love to know what wheels fit on mx5 rocket bunny pleaseeeeeeeeee
Wondering this same thing
RPF1
Does this work for a NC miata?
Next the NB MIATA!
it's the same but you have 3-5mm more space lol
Running esm 002r 15x9 -20 et with no poke on my na8
Clayton Rudder running same wheels I have 0 offset and my shit poke a ton wheels deep af
I have a set of 4x100 15x5.5 +39 SSR SP1 I need help finding the right tire size for stock suspension, I’m still learning and I seem to get very confused with numbers.. someone help please, thanks 🤞🏼
Check out our gallery! You’ll see what others are running with wheel specs and fitment specs! -> www.fitmentindustries.com/search-wheel-offset-gallery
Love the 1997 with the JNC 003, kinda the look I'm going for. Same black car, tan top. Looks nice.
And the 96 following it.
@japanese_flow on ig is the black Miata
What is that bronze 5 spoke over your left shoulder????.
38tech kansai wheels
How would JNC003s look (15x8) on 205/50 tires? How much poke would there be?
Depends on the wheels offset. I have 15x8 +25 with 205/45s and they fit perfectly without fender rolling. Basically the lower the offset the more poke
Celica 7th gen please my Doods
Which are shown at 2:13 ? The white ones
Would uS Daytona 022 17x9 0 offset give a lil poke for 06 xB
It should!
14s or bust
SECOND GEN PLEAAAAASE
5:23 what luggage rack is that? Ducktail looking thing lol
15x9 0 offset nb1
I am considering buying some tires and rims for my stock 93 Miata. It is a family owned car since new, originally in FL and now in AZ. My left front stock rim was bent along with the control arms and needs to be replaced. I have 246k miles on the car with original everything. My stock rims are the 14 inch alloys it came with. The guy is selling montegi racing wheels 16 x 7, and tires are Patriot 205/55/16 . I don't want to have to modify anything. Will they fit a stock miata with everything original and without having to modify anything? I went to your site, found one car but that person said it Rubs.
you might have to cut fenders/roll fenders/fender flates
flares*
Alot of people run 14s on miatas because they offer more comfort. And if you go with a wheel that's just a bit too heavy, it messes up the feel of the car. I believe you don't wanna go over 15lb per wheel?? I forget. zoom zoom
can you make a new video with NB miatas only since this entire video is NA’s for whatever reason
I assume most of this stuff can be applied to a NB, they're not that different.
So where is : what fits mr2 mk1???
Mk3 supra?
I have 16x8+20 on front and 18x8+10 on the rear on my NB. Understand, this video is just for NAs. There’s not much of a difference between them.
I need wheel that’ll fit stock fenders don’t wanna roll
We can help you find some!
Why does 195 tires seem small for an 8" rim?
Because it is.
i believe 205 is square for an 8” wheel
@@whatdo6714 Measurements wise it is however I would say my conti ecs's looks slightly stretched. But for a miata, thats probably what you want.
Because 195s are fitted onto stock 15x6 mx5 wheels?
8" rim needs a 215 or 215 to sit reasonably square. Could even go a 225
Carpassionchannel put 15x10s on his
Can someone tell me what kind of wheels are those at 2:10?
i think fifty52's
Thijs van den Brand I just found out. It’s drifter stars u.s wheels lol thanks though
You see because you did the 1st gen now you gotta do the 2nd, 3rd and 4th..
You see nobody really cares about the 3rd gen miata
I care about the nc 😤
Second gen is basically the same.
@@somedude9934 In all the forums it's now being understood that the 3rd gen is the best out of the 4 for track use and modification. Nobody wants to admit it because pop up headlights make a car better. But when you look at things like power to weight, length, width, aftermarket, high speed stabilization, engine bay room, safety inspection, reliability, age, engines available, daily driveability. Nothing beats the NC. There's over 1 million engines for the it because there's 2 engines you can use 2.0 and 2.5. Can't say that about any other MX-5. The transmission is also built like a tank and most come factory LSD. People actually hate the NC because they can't afford one or they're just embarrassed to admit it's better but when you compare all factors it's the best choice. It's still incredibly light weight and makes good power stock. There's only high quality parts available, no cheap eBay bullshit. You can make almost 500hp stock internals reliably. You can argue opinion all day but if you're like me and hate to beat around the bush I prefer facts over opinion.
(Power to weight ratios)
NA-63.5
NC-118.93
Case closed.
I run 15 x10.5 but I have a body kit looking for 16s or 17s soon
ワタナベのホイールも良いぞ!
Uh you can fit a 15x10 on an na bro
Am I terrible for this being my dream car?
Totaly no
If u want a Japanese roadster your options are miata or s2000. That's it. If you're going to go with an s2000 you might as well get an nd miata because they have way more features and are overall super similar in performance. While you can't impress anyone with a miata if it is the type of experience you're looking for its the best option. For me, my NA is my dream comfortable twisty road cruiser.
Just want a car I can beat on for cheap. An na would be amazing...
@@greyramsey3568 Well they're pretty good for that.
Dare to dream bigger. '93 Miata owner here.
To run 8 inch 15s you need to do major suspension and body work.
False. I'm running 15x8 +30 offset with 205/50-15 tires on completely stock suspension and zero bodywork, no rub, not body modifications at all. Once I put my coilovers on and lower the car about 2 inches I'll have to roll the fenders a bit, but I know guys running 15x10's with 245/40-15 tires with nothing but fender rolling and pulling, no cutting required, and the tires clear just fine.
Yeah ok imma run a 16x12 - 34
