Brother, you are the man! I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this for 3 years! I’ve confirmed all components were good. I was thinking it was exactly the problem you just stated, you just confirmed it and gave me the solution. If you’re ever in Fort Worth Tx I’m buying you a beer! Thank you again!

@@fatimahmacklin5597 you need to take your car into a shop/ mechanic, someone whom has ford maintenance software. You need to tell them that you need a PCM update 15-0149. He explained the purpose and reasoning of the update perfectly. There’s nothing mechanically wrong with your vehicle it’s just the computing software and parameters in which the computer was originally designed. So yeah take it to a shop lol

My sisters 2015 just started doing this. Trying to get her to take it to the dealer is like pulling teeth. Her truck is idling around 650 and rn it’s only dropping to about 500. Idk if it’s causing any unnecessary wear on the engine but I hope it doesn’t get any worse

Thanks for sharing!! I have a customer with same issue. I ran across the tsb while diagnosing the complaint. I was hoping to read where someone had updated the pcm with latest update to know if it fixed the issue. I cleaned tb and did a idle relearn but still does not pick up quick enough after clutch engages.

Mine does it just sitting and you can turn headlights on or something that takes a lot of power and shakes the suv and almost dies , think the alternator is doing it. And the air is off too.

TSB aren’t like recalls, if you are out of warranty a TSB isn’t free. TSB are there to help solve a problem that the technician might not figure out on there own, or to speed up repair because the issue is already known.

My 2009 Explorer has a bad idle that keeps dipping down to 400 and back up to 600 rpm then back down and I can hear my air conditioner, turning on and off, and my friend told me it was because you’re low on Freon same thing you said I tried everything PCV valve EGR new hoses and sometimes the computer corrects it and then it goes away. It’s frustrating because at the light in intersection, I have to put it in neutral. It kind of helps a little bit when I do that but couple of times it went dead and I had to hurry and start the car back up again.

Man, I’ve had the update done, and a new compressor put in. I cannot figure this out to save my life.
I have been thinking that the alternator is bad or something. The rolling idle will also do this if I’m refueling and don’t turn the car off ( I know your not supposed to do). I’m at a complete loss and the ford dealership are just the same.

Your issue could be a bad evap purge valve . Especially if it is worse after filling car with fuel. Scan pcm for codes. Suspect faulty evap purge valve if any codes. P1450, p0456,
