Um, Batman? Eh, close enough. EDIT: Thinking about it more, they're both visually dark, have a terrifying presence, hand-to-hand fighters, and crawl in vents to ambush their prey.
Like CZcamsr Alteori once talked about once: It’s quite alien to have female characters who aren’t arrogant stuck up b*tches in action movies these days.
Thats why Henry Cavill was pissed off after being brought back. The look he gave him when he flashed "I know what you been doing outside of the flim, come here you little shit"
I loved when Supergirl kept getting killed, not because I disliked the character or actress, but because it wasn't the expected "female Superman beats Zod without killing him" I figured they'd do. And it was hilarious.
No man that was the saddest part of the movie, her and Barry 2 kept trying over and over and especially from Barry’s point of view he must’ve tried an infinite number of times with her and could never save her
It's not Brie's fault, it's the writers. Sasha was a rock. All she did was stand around with a sour look on her face. Then all she does is "punch" things.
They didn't need to show Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne as a washed up old man. It would have been nice to see him happy and settled with a Vicki Vale or Salina Kyle.
Screw Vicky vale lol I think u mean cat woman ! He wasn’t fully washed up he accomplished his mission to save Gotham. That’s huuuge! Actually he did seem kinda washed up…. I thought he was gonna have a slick haircut and nice clothes but he looked like me……. Walking around like a bum!
True, but at least he was washed up because he made Gotham a safe place after all these years of hard work. He missed the fun and adventure, which is why he smiles when digging the shrapnel/bullet out of his arm in front of the mirror. I do hope we get a solo final film with him and Burton back though, and with Michelle Pfeiffer and Basinger having roles! Just seeing Keaton walk in the new suit was wonderful.
I thought he was just a guy enjoying cooking and chillin, having messy hair doesn't make him washed up. He wasn't drinking or abusing his body. He was cooking himself a reasonably healthy meal. He showed pretty quickly he still had it physically when he got into the action
@thelaughingrouge absolutely, he would be the perfect older Bruce Wayne. He's at that age where it's still plausible he could be an ass-kicker, but it's obvious he's quite old and only has a handful of years left max before he's too old to do the job, so he needs to pass on the mantle. Batman Beyond would be an uber money-maker if they did it right, it is a beloved series and the Beyond suit would look so good if done correctly
@MauLer the scene of a bad-arse fighter absent-mindedly hitting an ally during a fight happens quite often in Jackie Chan movies as an outgrowth of the old Chinese Kung Fu movies of the 60’s & 70’s. It happens in at least one of Bruce Lee’s movies as well, but I remember seeing it most often in Jackie Chan’s movies.
I didn't expect to like this Supergirl, but I actually loved her! Certainly better than the main character. I thought she was badass in a good way, not to mention hot! As for the movie itself, the CGI was surprisingly bad at times and there are some plot holes here and there, but it was enjoyable.
@@jenisia3600 That's not the main reason. Any girl hired to play Supergirl will always be hot, it's pretty much a prerequisite for the job. The main reason I liked her, is because she looked good in the action sequences. Believable in her role. Badass without being some annoying modern girl-boss.
@@jenisia3600 Exactly, the OP just thinks she's cute and is simp'ing. She had no role other than punch things and stand around brooding. They should have went with the Reverse Flash as the bad guy
I still don't get it why we can't have another Michael Keaton Batman movie. Nobody cares about Ezra's Flash, but everyone is excited about Keaton's Batman.
He was the best part of the whole movie Next to Supergirl She was pretty fucking awesome The world was already doomed and she didn't have enough to time explore all her powers under the yellow sun. She was amazing as Supergirl We need a Supergirl movie.
I think a lot of producers actually take pride in being completely ignorant of what the show they're producing is actually about. Like they think it's absurd and hilarious that so many people actually care what happens in a movie or a TV show. It's all just widgets to them. Product on a conveyor belt. And it's been that way for a very long time. The difference now is that the "talent" they're hiring don't actually know what the hell they're doing, after a generation or 2 of participation trophy culture. In some cases, they don't even understand the basics of storytelling. But they toed the right line, or they kissed the right asses, and "What the hell's the difference? Widgets are widgets. Who cares who makes them?" That is the mindset producers have been in for decades. "Let the creatives do the creating. We'll just focus on the cold hard numbers." It served them so well for so long, I don't even think they know to try and change it now, even if they could. I don't know that they would be able to recognize the difference between talented and talentless. The widgets all look the same to them.
I've done business with some of those types and you are absolutely right. They're all big money people that think Pop Culture is stupid stuff the idiot plebs enjoy while they get their kicks from rich person stuff like going on private yacht trips and the like. They keep making the same mistakes because they can't understand their own product, think it's for idiots and they'll accept anything because they are idiots who are too poor to enjoy the finer things in life. Eisner to his credit at least was a relatively normal exec that enjoyed Disney and liked the creative side but those kinds of people are gone now. It's all money people that just joined on to make more money and might as well be pandering drugs for all they're concerned. Until they get someone in there like Walt or Eisner who actually enjoys the concept of entertainment that doesn't involved wiping their asses with 100 dollar bills and laughing at people who aren't millionares this isn't going to change.
Writers back in the day actually lived some life before getting big writing jobs for TV/film. The "paid their dues" as we used to say. Today you got kids coming straight out of the Ivy League or USC Film School who have zero life experience, but they're put on A list projects and expected to create good stories. They can't hang, so they just plagiarize what they've already seen, or they write what they know - which is leftist politics and agendas that have been crammed down their throats since elementary school.
Contrast this with the old golden age execs like David O Selznick who obsessively ensured every detail, every casting decision was perfect. They are just going through the motions, I think it’s because the studios were all bought out by major corporations.
Besides Ezra being annoying, I enjoyed this movie, some details were nice and some things I think were better done than in Spiderman but I watched Flash with low expectations and Spiderman with high ones
I don't think the studio is coming in at the 11th hour to mandate things. I think these are mandated movies. These are "get people in the costumes, have them punch people, CGI will make the rest" films. And the reason I think this is what you guys described for Batman refusing the call. Batman. Refusing the call to save the world. Batman. IT doesn't matter which version of Batman you're talking about, they all would break themselves on an unbreakable wall before giving up. These characters aren't the characters they should be. But they can't be because that's not what these movies are. They are high budget highschool fanfic productions. Not even the A grade students. The C grade students.
Eh... this movie kinda-sorta-loosely-adapts the Flaspoint comic. In the flashpoint comic Thomas Wayne Batman refuses the call at first, so they had Michael Keaton Batman refuse the call at first. It's stupid-ception really...
Okay yes but this movie was different it had heart and while I agree A lot of the characters are gravely miss characterized the story on its own merits is actually pretty good in my opinion
You know, considering the budget for movies like this, they SHOULD be able to afford decent CGI, story boarding and writing, so what the hell are studios spending so much money on? Over the past few days I've been listening to complaints like this and they almost ALL have THE SAME things in common: studio interference and rewrites/reshoots! Idk about the Little Mermaid, I feel like Disney has no excuse for releasing trashy cash grabs like that but just in general, it seems to come down to studio conflicts and disagreements between directors, producers, and studio executives.
@@craigbrison4241 That was kind of my thought too! A lot of the "gigantic budget" flops that have come out really REALLY don't feel like they had that high of a budget coming from companies that have previously produced much higher quality entertainment for less. Peter Pan & Wendy is a great example of this. It cost them $40 Million to make? So, where did they spend it all? It obviously wasn't on special effects because this movie looks like a cheap knock-off of a previous remake! It wasn't on writing becuse they royally fudged that up to hell. It wasn't CGI because, what CGI? You can't even see most of the movie because it's so dark and drab-looking (most likely to hide the supposed super expensive CGI job)! Advertising? Did they really waste $40 million on mostly advertising? Because the adertising for this movie was even worse! I only know it exists because people on youtube were making fun of it. Clearly they didn't spend a cent on casting because if they get any more careless they'll just be throwing whoever into these roles regardless of the plot, original characters, asthetics, etc! They don't cast people because they fit the role anymore, they cast to start racist arguments.
Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence. And Hollywood has an abundance of incompetence. To draw a corporate parallel, it's very, very easy to schedule a day of meetings at an ordinary company and consume tens of thousands of dollars in payroll, snacks, and floorspace to accomplish literally nothing. And then because nothing was accomplished, to schedule ANOTHER day of meetings...
It's definitely money laundering. 10 million for special effects? And you have a whole studio of 3d artists working onnyour film? But a guy with a free program(blender) can make better graphics and effects in his spare time for free?
I'm sure miller has misbehaved and hopefully he will be punished for any crimes he's done. That said, I agree with you. Most of Hollywood, for example, are extremist left wing crazies, is half of America supposed to boycott Hollywood over it. They'll go along with democrats no matter what, killing 9 month old babies, bombing families in their car... It's possible miller has been sexually assaulted as a child by Hollywood pea-doughs. If so, a lot of his detractors are going to have to forgive him and he'll need years of therapy. The hypocrisy of people giving out about miller but being silent on someone like johnny depp, who has committed FAR MORE CRIMES over his life than miller is astounding. Miller could be recast now regardless. I actually liked this film, partially because it didn't start too far from the flashpoints paradox. Barry ffffed up and had to undo it, a world was lost because of it. I think they could have address who did actually kill his mom, it was possible for him to find out seeing as how he could travel back... Why wouldn't he want to find out? Probably because they didn't want to introduce reverse flash. I'm glad they didn't
Don’t know why Dc fans are putting so much faith in James Gunn. After the flash flops which it’s on its way to, I doubt Superman legacy or the Batman and Damien Wayne robin movie ever sees the light of day.
My friend and i went and saw it. We both really liked it. Cgi isn't great at some points, but the acting and story are good, the emotional beats hit, and the fights are fun action setpieces.
Just got back from seeing it. I can't believe how out of place Keaton's "Lets get nuts" line was. Seriously, all it would have taken is for Flash to say "I know this sounds completely nuts, but we've got to come together and beat him" at which point it would make sense for Keaton to say the line.
Chato's comments around the 9 to 10 minute mark are very enlightening, regarding the original Man from U.N.C.L.E., I hadn't ever realized the reasoning can be that simple. It's crazy the power the execs wield, and the sheer stupidity of what changes their whims. And then because of sheer ego, they barrel down their course and any logical sense be damned. I blame market research lol
I run a bakery and I see that kind of reasoning in the marketplace and it's wild to me. I think I'm pretty niche as a business goes. We're 221B Baker's Treat, a Sherlock Holmes themed bakery. (Home of the Sherlock Scone.) We do British treats, but, as we are based in the States, we've changed them a bit to suit American tastes. (Americans think actual British scones are too dry and crumbly, so we rolled to the Irish version and added a lot of fruit.) Okay, on to my point. There are quite a few bakeries that sell in my local area and at local markets. As I'm fairly unique and niche, I don't see these people as competition, really, thus, if I change my product, I do it because I changed seasonally or I'm trying something new or I'm branching out. I don't see what other people do and think, "I should sell that!" But it stuns me how often I see other bakeries do that. "Oh, their sea salt chocolate chip cookies are selling really well. Let's do our version." Why? There was one bakery where the assistant baker would come to our place every week (And every other bakery in town) and ask what we were selling and what our best selling item was and she'd go back and then they'd try to make it cheaper at their place. I just never got that. Play to your strengths, not mine. Don't chase someone else's successes, make your own. You are never going to be everything to everyone and the idea that you can be the last bakery standing because you now make what every other bakery made and shut them down is absurd. That bakery couldn't sustain making everyone else's stuff cheaper and went under. Eight years in, I'm still there. I have a theme and signature items. Changing it all up now on a whim because the bakery down the street is doing great selling cupcakes is just a mindblowing idea to me. And I *really* can't see doing that with a television series and a multi-million dollar budget! But people somehow think chasing the trends is how you make the money. Just let people do their thing and you do yours the best you can.
@@Laurtew Well said. Your business model is something from a bygone age, it seems. What we see in most places is this pseudo-capitalist mindset that you need to have the edge on your competition at all times. Bo Burnham summed it up quite well in an interview a while back when he essentially said "It's never enough. The shareholders will never be satisfied. It will never be enough money. It will never be enough success. There is no finish line. When you win and force your competition out or buy them out, it's not the end. You didn't "win." There is no "win." After that the shareholders will tell you to cut costs, to raise prices. Do it cheaper, do it faster, do it with less workers. The game is rigged." So many businesses are simply trying to become the next Walmart. The next Starbucks. The next Apple. The next Amazon. They think if they play a cutthroat game and take no prisoners, then it will happen for them. But it's just this cannibalistic system that rewards unethical practices. I mean, just look at how many resources and how much time and effort and money is poured into R&D for marketing. Literally trying to invent subtle and not-so-subtle forms of mental manipulation and mind control to get people to part with their money. Invasion of privacy doesn't even begin to describe it. Facebook and Google built their empires on the principle that everyone that uses their service has forfeited their right to privacy and volunteered it to be sold and used for purposes they'll never know about.
"In many cases the least competent, least smart people are promoted, simply because they’re the ones you don't want doing actual work. You want them ordering the doughnuts and yelling at people for not doing their assignments-you know, the easy work. Your heart surgeons and your computer programmers-your smart people-aren't in management. That principle was literally happening everywhere." - Scott Adams
Honestly the Keaton fight was the best scene of the movie -- the rapid fire batarangs were peak batman. If they could recreate that in future movies, I think it would be much more successful than aiming toward the "realism above all else" approach they've been taking. I'd even take the (spoiler) they showed at the end if they have strong action scenes like this movie and Affleck's in BvS. To be fair, it has nothing to do with "she's not superman" or being girl boss. Kara was starved of sun until Zod got there; she would not have known or understood her powers like Kal who grew up with and understood them, and therefore was more on equal footing with Zod -- a general, and experienced warrior. Pretty clear Ezra held the movie back --both versions were whiney and annoying, but if no one knew Ezra's history/he was a new upcomming actor, I think most people would have liked his performance.
@@johnm140 ummmm. I'm a huge Batman fan and we don't want too much realism, because Batman would be almost unable to move from arthritis and all his injuries. Could a 70 year old man do half the shit Keaton's stunt doubles did. Even The Dark Knight, the most grounded Bat film ever, has tons of unrealistic stuff in it
@@theoc511 In a previous video Chris Gore mentioned ass shots of both Supergirl and Wonder Woman. And he said there was a really long and nice one of Supergirl.
@@theoc511 Well your recollection is faulty. In this video he says it at 4:47 : czcams.com/video/UhO4AZAkbIM/video.html "There is a lingering shot on Kara / Supergirl's ass".
Got to be honest, we really liked the movie. Our theater was packed. Everyone was having a good time it seemed. Laughing at the jokes,, and snifflings around the area at the sad moments. The sound and music was excellent. The costumes finally had color to them and they didn’t take their masks off every time they needed to say a line. (Like Marvel).
Completely disagree on the movie becoming a batman film on the later half. Keaton batman didn't drive the plot forward, he just enables barry and co to go and do what they need to do. He's just batman doing batman things in the background while the plot did focus on the 2 barrys goals and conflicts. Did we see a different movie? Wtf
I agree Batman came in around the middle had his Time to shine then towards the end was completely out of the movie. we watched the same movie but they’re just focused on Batman because that’s what they grew up watching
The thing with DC is they did copy the formula from Marvel and wanted their own "Avengers" but they didn't bother going through their paces. No fleshing out of the characters through their own movies / trilogies, or build. They wanted the "end phase" product with out building up to and putting in the time and effort for it.
The only thing that can save the DCEU while ensuring this film makes a billion zillion monies is for Miller to do a press tour. He should start with Hawaii
When Mauler mentioned The Flash getting punched by Batman, Indiana Jones punching out the cigarette girl in Temple of Doom popped into my head. Will be contemplating potential others.
@Art Vandelay it's such a disgusting thing imo. It should only have ever been used sparingly, like Oliver Reed's part in Ridley Scott's film "Gladiator", where the actor unfortunately died before finishing all of his scenes, and so they very sparingly, and tastefully, used cgi to finish the final bits and scenes of his--and it was so well done many people still haven't realized to this day that parts of his scenes were a digital recreation. That's the proper way to use the tech, imo. Contrast that to disgustingly slapping a dead person's face over a cgi model for sheer entertainment. To just trot out a dead person back onto the screen for money and clout and "wow factor", its henious to me. You shouldn't be able to just use a dead person's likeness and voice and general image, for your own purposes of making money off of their image, and especially without their pre-given consent. Hollywood is messed up, man. What a world we live in
Reeves was playing in smallville very near the end. I think he would want his legacy remembered. Interesting you called out Reeve's cameo as infuriating but not Adam West or George Reeves
The story is pretty dark I liked the concept/idea "No matter what we do, this world dies....today" I liked Supergirl a lot I want to see her in more movies
I don't think the movie is bad at all. cgi is terrible, really terrible, but the overall story is not bad. Michael Keaton is fantastic. dominates every scene. I was afraid that he had lost his edge, like almost every actor who returns to a cult role after 20, 30 years. Keaton knows who that character is. He doesn't have to say anything, just standing there is enough. He knows how Batman moves, how he walks. How he looks, how he thinks. As for Ezra Miller, I think people would be satisfied with his performance if he were a normal person. I want to say that people are not objective and cannot separate the role from the actor. all in all, the film left a positive impression on me and I would like it to do well at the box office. and yes, one more thing. the movie has a couple of funny scenes and i really laughed my heart out. Which I can't say for any of the last couple of Marvel movies
nah I think most sane people would still think his performance was ridiculous like they did before all this stuff came out about him in the justice league movies. And i liked most parts of the film but I do not want Ezra rewarded for his monstrous crimes so I don't want them to do well at the box office because that's rewarding really bad behavior on Ezra and the studios part.
If you have to justify your review by claiming to be the only rational person and everyone who disagrees with you is literally out of their mind, then you have just proved your review false and yourself to be literally out of your mind.
The Adam West BATMAN debuted in January 1966, halfway thru THE MAN FROM UNCLE's 2nd season. However, somehow, UNCLE's 2nd season started to get a lot dumber nearly 4 months before the Adam West series debuted! On the other hand, LOST IN SPACE began to get campier halfway thru its 1st season (and its first half-hour was on at the same time as BATMAN on Wednesdays). By the time September 1966 rolled around, THE MAN FROM UNCLE, LOST IN SPACE, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, THE WILD WILD WEST and the new THE GIRL FROM UNCLE were all going completely idiotic and silly to compete with BATMAN, while BATMAN went from "an adventure show with weird humor" in its first 18 week season, to a "sitcom with costumes" in its 2nd season! So even BATMAN was suffering, from trying to compete with shows that were trying to compete with it, instead of each show just trying to be its own best thing. The astonishing thing is that September 1966 was when STAR TREK, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and TARZAN all debuted-- and all 3 were damned good that year. TARZAN got even better its 2nd season.
@@vario6492have you seen the flash? It was amazing. It’s been past time we have a speedster movie. Gotg3 was great yes but the flash was better. If it has better cgi you’d agree
But if the Flash is so fast that he was surprised that Superman was able to look over and see him while running at full speed, how could he not have easily dodged Batman's swing?
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Perhaps overly ambitious, but I was surprisingly entertained . Mileage will vary depending on whether you enjoy Miller’s humor. I do and it pretty much all worked for me. Keaton was amazing! And cheers for not shying away from the sex appeal of WW and Supergirl!
I thought it was an awesome movie ! I feel like people have stopped being able to like anything these days. It was a fun superhero movie with tons of DC Easter eggs.
Tbh I went in with low expectations and thought it was okay. I hated how weightless supergirl's action bits were and I'm annoyed she doesn't look like supergirl. The little gag at the end was great.
The Flash was one of my favorite comic book characters when I was a kid. And for years and years as comic book superheroes began to more regularly have movies made about them I hoped I’d see him make it to the big screen. Only to find that they’ve cast a violent sociopathic sexual predator as the lead. Sexual, as well as predation of other kinds as well. That is disappointing enough all on its own. But to have the crimes seem to be completely disregarded by the studio?… that reeks of being a crime of a different sort in my view. The evil sh*t these Hollywood people will ignore & often even seem to celebrate beggars belief.
I found the script with a deleted scene: During the course of their investigation, police determined that the individual, later identified as Ezra Miller, became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut,” read a news release at the time.
I've got to disagree. Flash is a muscular dude and the adaptation should have reflected that. Ezra Miller has always felt very out of place as the Flash, even if you overlooked the age gap. He's too sickly. Him being a real life pyscho is merely the rotten core of a badly made cake.
That opening BROKE the movie with the blood sugar mechanic that didn't come up like that before and stops mastering right after. I'm no Mauler by any means, but even I could spend ages with nit picking this news in a style similar to his.
64% critic rating, 79% audience score a B cinema score and not 1 but 2 Ezra miller according to the delusional WB executives = the greatest comic book movie ever made lol 😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 As a huge DC fan I’ve refused to support this movie purely because of Ezra the stain miller, until he’s fired I no longer support DC and WB has brought this on themselves. It’s going to need 850 million minimum to break even hopefully it gets nowhere near it. To think this company fired and treat Henry Cavill like absolute crap, a gentleman and role model. Yet they retained, protected and offered public support to a vile pathetic stain who’s attacked and threatened multiple people.!!!!!!
As a DC fan for 40+ years myself.... I enjoyed it. The film acknowledges Cavill several times. I expected to hate it, but didn't. I understand your anger, but you might have some fun with it - best superhero film in a while.
@@RRTNZ Cool will watch it .,,.., when it’s free to stream I’m not giving a penny towards the success of Ezra the stain miller. But I do hope others enjoy it. I too am in my 40s Keaton is my Batman but I’m just not supporting Ezra. That simple.
@@mcribprime6594 fair enough to wait for streaming, , but as a DC fan you're missing out if you don't see it at all. Also, I think if the movie doesn't tank they might make more decent films like this - a lot of it is comedy though. Cheers.
I guess the makers of this flash movie kindof forgot about the flashpoint comic that they couldve used for inspiration for the plot and direction of this movie.
Chris Gore's knowledge of the industry is amazing but he frequently gives mediocre/bad moves a (semi) pass because of small subjective bits. I mean seriously I think GG is as attractive as the next man but are we seriously going to the garbage in this movie a pass because of a few seconds of great ass? That's like having a bowl of diarrhea and saying "this dish is good because there are a couple pieces of great steak in it".
Gore often reviews movies from the perspective of a 13 year old kid who's just discovered girls and is showing kids a Victoria's secret catalog during a break at school. The time,on this channel where they discussed the lack of cleavage in movies, and hearing him focus on Karen Allen's "triangular region " during Raiders was sad.
Batman, "I'll pass." I took it as, Batman didn't totally believe Barry. Bruce STILL thinks Barry is nuts, after he says he'll help and they find Supergirl.
I’m a super normie, and I really like you guys and agree with most things. I just watched the Flash, and actually had a good time watching it. It was funny, it had cool action, and it had heart dare I say. But I totally understand why some people wouldn’t like it. But as a normie, I found it entertaining.
I’m a normie when it comes to Flash as a character. Only know him from the animated justice league series. I also enjoyed the movie and had fun. I easily could think or find plot holes but I was invested enough with the characters to not bother. Fun movie from beginning to end.
I would not call you normie. If you like the character the story resonates with you, I welcome you to the fandom. You may not become a hard-core fan and your interest may never go beyond this movie. But you are welcome. Guys like Gore use the term normie in a despective way, to degrade the movie and the people who liked it. I say welcome, glad you enjoyed it, and if you want to go deeper, plenty of people will help you.
As a flash fan this has my seal of approval because the movie was really good and yeah they deviated from the source material but the movie definitely had heart and the acting was superb
I watched it with a friend. It was ok. I didn't hate it. But aside from the nostalgia bait cameos and the dodgy CGI I probably won't remember anything from it
This is the second movie released on a holiday weekend in the hope of getting the box office takings up. This and The Little Mermaid in the hope they can build it up as successes.
There was an animated version of this story made a few years back I watched that was VERY serious. That was a very good movie in my opinion and it sounds like it was an inspiration for this in addition to the original Flashpoint comic.
the flash is still better than most recent mcu movies, and i appreciate this movie , becuz its the end of the dceu, the humors were perfect and great , ik drinker will hate the mcu type humours, but this movie has all emotional and humourous moments balanced together, and the story is so great, the multiverse story telling was kinda short in my opinion but the cameos and plot twistsa wer egreat
The cgi looked pretty bad. I thought it was just a speed thing and tried to let it go. Yes I actually liked the movie and I say that as a pretty die hard dc/flash comic book fan.
Just saw it, and liked it. Had fun. It wasn't woke. Wasn't a dark, dreary DC movie. It didn't take itself too seriously, it knew it was a comic book movie and people were there to have fun. It had jokes that landed that weren't at the expense of its heroes. Didn't make the heroes into baffoons (ahem..Marvel). Micheal Keaton was great. More of this Supergirl, please. Ezra Miller is grating but was watchable in this. I had to explain to my wife why Nikolaus Cage was Superman. haha. 😁
I'm not that bothered about 1989. I liked Bruce and Vicky but but batman is hardly in it. I didn't really think it was that dark either - the joker is a bit extra. He does destroy some good art work though, Rembrandt, Degas, Bacon. I like bale/ledger the best. Then then Pattinsons cause he actually does some detective work.
Just saw it within the last hour, holy cow I thought it was amazing. There's definite problems that keep it from being A+, but it's still over the top and very very good, a must watch for any super hero fan. B+ or A-
Maybe somebody can tell me...why did they not get the guy who plays the flash on TV series on the wb...did he not want to do it?. Seems like that would have been super easy...whenever I do think of the flash...his image pops into my head...
The horrendous and embarrassing CGI, kids with a PC nowadays can do way better. Erza but 2 of them was obnoxious it gave a nauseous feeling. If the movie didn't have Batman in it, oooooooooof wouldn't even be watchable. The embarrassing cameo's(won't spoil it) was in bad taste. The story was decent when they got back to it but still it wasn't hitting because the distracting CGI and obnoxious Ezra's. The microwave..... What on Earth was that. The movie sucked. The fact people are being completely in denial trying to say people are hating is even more shocking.
@@Arthas30000fr from what I've seen and read about flash point it's a really good flash story and could have been a great film but it just feels to small scale compared to the comic with slow and useless first hour and even more useless but kinda less boring second hour and multiple missed opportunities I went in with high hopes but was kinda disappointed the more I thought about it after I finished the film
@@Sleeping_Sensei Oh yeah. Flashpoint had it all. Spoilers for the animated film follow. WW3 level Armageddon between Amazon's and Atlantians (for the dumbest reason too). Crazy WB teased Batman vs Superman in the the Will Smith "I A Legend" movie. Which had an ad board with Superman and Batman logos on it. Front and center couldn't miss it.
Bcuz main actor is fruit loop and etc and u know Hollywood supports alphabets, transformers, druggies, petal files, and etc. Sicker u are the more praise you'll get
No Way Home was ass. It's genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I was raised on comics, and Spiderman is one of my favorites, but that movie was a mess. •The plot hinges on Peter, forgetting the same lesson he's learned in every single MCU film centered around him. • All the characters lack depth. Tobey and Andrew's films both had moments where Peter and his supporting characters are normal people with actual lives outside of being superheroes allies and villains. • The setup for the older characters is damn near disrespectful. Tobey and Andrew just walk through a portal. We don't know what they were doing in their universe or how their current life is going. • THERE ARE JOKES EVERY 5 SECONDS. They undercut every moment of tension. • It's literally just nostalgia and fan service, but it's colorful and fast-paced enough for people to not care. This movie is like watching the cutscenes to a video game I'd like to play.
The Flash is still the best Alien vs Predator film we've gotten to date.
Ezra is the predator
Who’s Xenomorph?
Um, Batman? Eh, close enough.
EDIT: Thinking about it more, they're both visually dark, have a terrifying presence, hand-to-hand fighters, and crawl in vents to ambush their prey.
Haha! That's so true!

Maybe films are the only thing keeping Ezra from going on rampages, and Warner is actually heroically employing him to keep us all safe. 🙃

I loved when Supergirl kept getting killed, not because I disliked the character or actress, but because it wasn't the expected "female Superman beats Zod without killing him" I figured they'd do. And it was hilarious.
No man that was the saddest part of the movie, her and Barry 2 kept trying over and over and especially from Barry’s point of view he must’ve tried an infinite number of times with her and could never save her
I LIKED sasha Calle as Supergirl. She wasn't in the least bit obnoxious, overbearing or entitled like brie larson.
Being the type to hate female characters, you must be very confused.
It's not Brie's fault, it's the writers. Sasha was a rock. All she did was stand around with a sour look on her face. Then all she does is "punch" things.
And they killed her.
She was surprisingly great
Not a fan of her haircut but she's sexy 🥰

They didn't need to show Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne as a washed up old man. It would have been nice to see him happy and settled with a Vicki Vale or Salina Kyle.
Considering the outcome, I prefer this. I wouldn't want that for Selina.
@@DodgyTodger Good points!
What a waste of Michael Keaton.
If only the DCEU would put effort into a faithful live action Batman Beyond, with Keaton as an older Bruce.
OMG. That would be AWESOME
He would be PERFECT for the old Bruce role of a live action Batman Beyond film.
Go tell them then.
Been saying this for years 😕
@thelaughingrouge absolutely, he would be the perfect older Bruce Wayne.
Superman was stronger than Zod because he was soaking up solar energy for 33 years. Kara was weak AF because she only just started soaking up the sun.
🤔 that actually makes sense 🙂
Exactly, she got tired after beating up a few Russians, admittedly she only got out of her cell. But yeah, it's well established how superman "works"
This is true. It's also why Superman is stronger than Kara. I explained this to my date last night. And she totally understood
Be real, you only like cause she's hot. But you'll forget her once they hire another hot girl.
@@jenisia3600 That's not the main reason. Any girl hired to play Supergirl will always be hot, it's pretty much a prerequisite for the job. The main reason I liked her, is because she looked good in the action sequences. Believable in her role. Badass without being some annoying modern girl-boss.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this
I've done business with some of those types and you are absolutely right.

Okay yes but this movie was different it had heart and while I agree A lot of the characters are gravely miss characterized the story on its own merits is actually pretty good in my opinion
@@joshgamingvlogs5203 I don’t trust an opinion without punctuation.
Middleman companies from friends and co.
They are laundering money...
All the movie did was confirm my need for a Keaton Batman Beyond movie.
I was surprised how much I liked The Flash. I don't know or care about the actors IRL. On screen they were all great. Good acting, good story arc.
I'm glad they didn't
ezra miller thought when he took the role, that he could flash anyone
Don’t know why Dc fans are putting so much faith in James Gunn. After the flash flops which it’s on its way to, I doubt Superman legacy or the Batman and Damien Wayne robin movie ever sees the light of day.

"A big melting pot of nonsense. But I liked Keaton." -- Mauler
Just got back from seeing it. I can't believe how out of place Keaton's "Lets get nuts" line was. Seriously, all it would have taken is for Flash to say "I know this sounds completely nuts, but we've got to come together and beat him" at which point it would make sense for Keaton to say the line.
That would've made sense.
"market research" and "focus groups" have been used as justification for ruining a lot of things
The game is rigged."
So many businesses are simply trying to become the next Walmart.

Completely disagree on the movie becoming a batman film on the later half. Keaton batman didn't drive the plot forward, he just enables barry and co to go and do what they need to do.

For me the deepfaking of a dead actor was more infuriating than anything else (the Reeve Superman camio)
You're not a fan of digital death puppets?

I wonder if Ezra Miller's victims would like to see it do well at the box office 🤔
What victims?
You're just a MARVEL fanboy
nah I think most sane people would still think his performance was ridiculous like they did before all this stuff came out about him in the justice league movies. And i liked most parts of the film but I do not want Ezra rewarded for his monstrous crimes so I don't want them to do well at the box office because that's rewarding really bad behavior on Ezra and the studios part.

12:05 The second WW movie was an absolute abomination, though, in just about every current-year way imaginable (not to mention just incompetent)!
Mauler was dying when the panel was saying DCEU has great actors 😭
"Gal Gadot great wonder woman" 🤦♂️
The thing about the plot is, they did it in season 3 of the tv show, so I'm not interested in seeing it again.
Despite all the problems with the movie, when it was firing on all cylinders it was great. Probably the best comic book movie in years.
You on drugs?
Have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
@@vario6492have you seen the flash? It was amazing. It’s been past time we have a speedster movie. Gotg3 was great yes but the flash was better. If it has better cgi you’d agree
The Flash is awful and better CGI wouldn't have helped.
But if the Flash is so fast that he was surprised that Superman was able to look over and see him while running at full speed, how could he not have easily dodged Batman's swing?
To be fair, every superhero movie has contradictions like this.
C'mon man! Don't pay so much attention.
Batman’s gonna be punchin and if you get in the way it’s your own fault. Cry, but choke out a “thank you, sir” through your own sobs.
Because he is Batman
@@nkxseal8398 hence the reason so many are so bad
You had me at Gal Gadot's ass
Please make a Production Hell video out of this Flash movie! What the heck, please add Indiana Jones 5 to that list. Thanks!
The Flash was actually pretty good. I can't wait to see the 4 hour uncut version.
I hated that they cut the scene where Ezra says "It's pizza time" and then flashed all over them...
I found the script with a deleted scene:
During the course of their investigation, police determined that the individual, later identified as Ezra Miller, became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut,” read a news release at the time.
I liked when Spider-Man said,”I don’t want to fight you Flash.” Flash looks at the other Flash and says, “I wouldn’t want to fight me neither.”
@@marbellaotaiza801 i liked the part where spidey said
Its spiding time and he threw webs except from the wrists
@@stealthvaibhav736 I thought that was Deadpool
The Flash was the equivalent of two girls and cup. I made it half way through.
Supergirl saying “ZOD” like a robot in that one cringe fight scene was enough for me to know it was a stinker
I've got to disagree. Flash is a muscular dude and the adaptation should have reflected that.
Ezra Miller has always felt very out of place as the Flash, even if you overlooked the age gap.
He's too sickly. Him being a real life pyscho is merely the rotten core of a badly made cake.
Oh good grief. He's not sickly.
@jennyclark6183 Yes he is.
@@druidsstone3463 What makes you think he's sickly?

Well we know that DC never sticks to the original characters.
That opening BROKE the movie with the blood sugar mechanic that didn't come up like that before and stops mastering right after. I'm no Mauler by any means, but even I could spend ages with nit picking this news in a style similar to his.
I'm still wondering who the main stream Batman is going to be.
I don't think even Warner knows

As a huge DC fan I’ve refused to support this movie purely because of Ezra the stain miller, until he’s fired I no longer support DC and WB has brought this on themselves.

Cool will watch it .,,.., when it’s free to stream I’m not giving a penny towards the success of Ezra the stain miller.
Cheers.
"The infant did not survive"
That was a cold line from The White Death
Straight to the Netflix 😅 It felt like Stranger Things 4 storyline mets No way home meets CW TV shows on steroids.😂
Kara was a good part of thr film. Keaton was great
ill never give a dime to anyone who openly employs a predator like ezra
Or like James Gunn? ='[.]'=
Batman, "I'll pass."
I took it as, Batman didn't totally believe Barry.
Bruce STILL thinks Barry is nuts, after he says he'll help and they find Supergirl.
Mauler - it was awful I loved it, I’m going to do a 96 hour docuseries dissecting how awful it was
I enjoyed the flash a lot, had some big ideas and is a cohesive story. CGI had some rough moments though
Besides the cgi it was an amazing movie story wise
The story is absolutely not cohesive, what the hell are you talking about?
I'm not gonna see it. Count me out.
People still go and watch these?
I'm sure WB is devastated...
Right there with you.
I appreciate Chato bringing up Man from U.N.C.L.E. My Dad showed it to me. Uneven, but some cool characters, gadgets, and great music.
Honestly, I loved the spaghetti metaphor for time travel.
What holiday weekend?

There was an animated version of this story made a few years back I watched that was VERY serious. That was a very good movie in my opinion and it sounds like it was an inspiration for this in addition to the original Flashpoint comic.
What is your favorite version of The Flash?
Cw
the flash is still better than most recent mcu movies, and i appreciate this movie , becuz its the end of the dceu, the humors were perfect and great , ik drinker will hate the mcu type humours, but this movie has all emotional and humourous moments balanced together, and the story is so great, the multiverse story telling was kinda short in my opinion but the cameos and plot twistsa wer egreat
Amazing opinion I agree. I hope this movie does well so we get more flash content
The cgi looked pretty bad. I thought it was just a speed thing and tried to let it go.
Yes I actually liked the movie and I say that as a pretty die hard dc/flash comic book fan.
The fight scene at the end of Blazing Saddles has the two main heroes so caught up that they accidentally punch each other.
I can’t wait to hear your guys take on Indy 5
I felt bad for Calle. Decent actress who was given a lousy role. Wasted her talents.
I feel bad for Ezra Miller's victims.
I hope Gunn keeps her as Supergirl. She has a lot of potential for the role, it was a decent start.

I had to explain to my wife why Nikolaus Cage was Superman. haha. 😁
That's the best short description of the movie 👍

They don't want to cross the continuity streams
The Man from UNCLE changes occurred in the third season and was based on camp of Get Smart as well as Batman.
Ngl just a diet flash point

@@Arthas30000fr from what I've seen and read about flash point it's a really good flash story and could have been a great film but it just feels to small scale compared to the comic with slow and useless first hour and even more useless but kinda less boring second hour and multiple missed opportunities I went in with high hopes but was kinda disappointed the more I thought about it after I finished the film

People look at MCU with different standards than anything DC. It's ridiculous the crap marvel makes that gets a pass
