Fun note: After aerobics, you were supposed to pull the leg warmers up over your calves to keep them warm, thus limiting cramping. Leg warmers originated from ballet dancers. Only about 2% of aerobics enthusiasts actually used the warmers as intended. It was indeed an odd fashion choice.

The actor who played Morgan actually played a Captain in another horrible B-movie called Deadly Prey. Jimmy and Chuck are in it too. And they fight each other in that movie too.

No Morgan runs a mercenary group of ex military personal (where he got the Captain title), and they kidnap people off the streets to use as practice. They end up kidnapping Jimmy's wife and he goes after them all. The climax Jimmy chops off Chucks arm and beats him to death with his own arm. Its a horrible movie but it has some magical moments.
Did anyone else notice, when that girl was getting toasted in the tanning bed she was faced downwards but when you see her feet flailing they were pointed up?
I noticed that, too. Maybe a moot point with all the flames, but if she was able to turn around like that it didn't really seem like she could be trapped.

The actor overplays his grumpy detective character so much, it is legendary.
Leg warmers totally became a fashion thing too in the 80s, but when I was dancing with a studio, we wore leg warmers to keep the ankles warm and able to move. Cold can make joints much more prone to injury, so if you're doing dance, you really want to minimize risk of strain wherever possible, since dance is incredibly intensive exercise. A lot of the leg warmers ended up getting kind of impractical though, by the end of the craze, and there were just pure fashion leg warmers that you would never wear for their intended purpose while working out, least of all in dance. Some of those styles, you'd just kick across the room doing a single move! Thanks for your always amusing videos, and I hope this helps put them in context!

Maybe women are weird, but you get warm working out, right? Whenever anyone complained about the cold while I was in the army they were always made to run round and round until they weren't cold anymore. Which worked, but you know...We just suffered in silence for the most past so we wouldn't have to run.
i think most "fitness fashion" ankle warmers started as a practical thing (I've seen some ankle warmers on pictures of ballerinas from the 40s so its much older than the 80s) but became a fashionable item as people copied their favorite athletes and since dance as an exercise (such as the famous dance aerobics and step aerobics) became really popular in the 80s. It's the same today: look at all the guys who put on weightlifting gloves and weightlifting belts to do cardio or core exercises, or the people who wear armless hoodies for exercises indoors.
@@politicallycorrectredskin796 It doesn't quite work that way. Feeling warm, and the muscles actually *being* warm are two different things. Modern research on exercise is increasingly suggesting that people shouldn't work out in the first few hours of being awake, because the muscles are not warm yet. Workout injuries are most common when people work out within a couple hours of waking up, and not being properly warm is part of the problem. It's akin to how drinking alcohol makes someone *feel* warm, while actually, due to vasodilation of blood vessels caused by the alcohol, they are getting colder. Feeling warm is not the same as being warm.

Killer Workout/ Aerobicide should have a crossover sequel with Gymkata.
I can't quite decide if this movie was trying to be a thriller or a porno. Either way it fails.
The better alternative to this movie is it’s cousin, “Death Spa”!
Or the actually named 'Death Bed: The Bed That Eats'. That is one of the strangest, if sometimes boringist movies ever.
Ohman Death Spa is fantastically hilarious. The deaths in that are something else. 🤣 That's one of those so bad it's good imo. It's like a dark comedy.
By the way, this has both the protagonist AND the antagonist of "Deadly Prey." Now I'm thinking that they didn't really meet at Vietnam, but that their fued was actually about a leotard-related incident all long.
Also the same writer/director, and Jimmy in this movie is the sunglasses merc from Deadly Prey.

Of course, don't get me wrong, your videos are delightful no matter what movie is being reviewed. With these kinds of movies, though, your jokes and quips seem to be the most abundant and amusing. I was into the aerobics craze, and the real killer in a place like this is those high-impact aerobics on your feet and joints! I can also attest to the fact that aerobic workouts were not all hip rolls, thrusts, and other suggestive moves lol. But, some places/instructors did more of that than others.

I'd have said Totally Rad, but earlier that evening we'd watched Rad, which had just come out on VHS.

Yeah. When I worked at a hospital they were white... and terrible. They would rip all the time, and if the person hadn't died of, uhh... natural causes, if you catch my drift, then they would leak (the bags, sometimes the corpses)!! The black ones are meant to hold in liquids and everything. They're better.

If my memory serves me right, leg warmers were originally used by ballet dancers to help keep their leg muscles from cramping after stretching & warming up. It just later became a popular fashion fad among women & girls.

I know exactly what you mean, Mark. When I went to the gym, in the locker room, most men regardless of age felt really comfortable in their birthday suits. I always had to look away to not see the wangs from complete strangers. Made me not really uncomfortable, but a little weird. I guess we're walking towards a more taboo free society. Or maybe gym guys are weird.
