I could watch this man cook all day. He's so peaceful.
We think so... A legend in the kitchen!
Ervin Fowlkes, yes, true.. I agree.. What a calm man.. 🙂
Yes it is 😊
The Bob Ross of cooking lel
Probably because he's a Buddhist.
best chinese cooking video on youtube, why? because it is the only one that gives the REASONS behind each instruction

I KNOW RIGHT ? !!! I MEAN I WATCHED A LOT OF VIDEOS ON HOW TO MAKE AN ASIAN NOODLES BUT I DIDN'T REALLY UNDERSTAND THEM ALL , BUT THIS ONE IS MORE EASY AND DELICIOUS!
littlecicero I completely agree. He's a wonderful cooking instructor.
What a nice man. Gentle humble tone. Unusual with chefs. Polite and pleasant.
reza michael especially with gordon ramsay 😂😂😂
He probably knows kung fu
it's the lack of tattoos that keeps him real
@Nawroz Muhammad he won't that's his whole bs shtick. ramsay ruined food tv. all yelling and bs. he's a wanker.
Not true. A lot of professionals can put on a very good front. Behind the scenes they show their true colours.
Ken is a sweet man. Can anyone feel his energy just by watching the video?
No.
Jack T. Ripper lol
Yes, he seems like a sweet man but I wish the video had focused more on his _hands_, so that we could see everything he was doing :)
You can see his passion for food. Definitely with Chinese cooking, less is more. Jamie Orrible would be throwing all sorts into this chow mein, but it isn't needed.
he used kaioken
I liked how lowkey nervous he was, makes him more relatable
I had the pleasure of having drinks with Ken Hom a few years ago and he is such an interesting man! Absolute genius & genuine. Love this man.
how lucky you are!🤩
What I love about Ken Hom's video is that he doesn't talk down to you, he isn't all flash, he's laid back, he takes his time to explain what he's doing at each stage. I have just ordered a wok and a selection of food items to give his recipes a try.
I remember watching Ken when I was younger and thinking he was the coolest. Watching this confirmed he still is!
oabuseer of play
Yes he is,
Agree with others that his voice can be heard all day long. Imagine he is your cooking instructor for a day or a week, that's a blessing.
I've used Ken Hom's fried rice recipe in my kitchen for 25 years and have never had better in any Chinese restaurant. Chef Hom is the master!
We couldn't agree more! So lovely to hear that you have been inspired by Ken Hom for such a long time - and we are also super jealous of your fried rice!
This looks like a great recipe, all I need to do for me is add some diced chicken breast and it will be perfect. :D
Can I know the recipe please??
@@tesco Link please??
@@bhuwangotame1502 Yes!! Link?
I always like to watch Ken Hom videos because he has a very pleasing presentational style. There's a gentleness to his manner that's always a welcome contrast to the more egotistical, diva-type chefs.
One of the best teacher in Chinese cooking . He demonstrated priceless lesson here . I used to go to Chinese cooking and all this was demonstrated at a very expensive lesson . Thanks Ken .
Ken HOm sir you really are the master. Making it look so easy has always been your way. thank you.

A very important thing: to explain the "why and how". And Mr. Hom ist one of the best, doing that. Thank you so much, Ken!
Wow, one of the best cooking videos Ive ever seen! Easy to understand, easy to follow, very detailed. He also goes above and beyond and shows you the intricacies of how to hold the cleaver; and other minute details
thank you so much ken for the simplicity of how you explain how to make this dish
His English is excellent! I love his voice 😍
This man really calms my soul. His gentle and patient way to explain things is amazing. I wish I could be more like that especially with my kids.

A joy to watch...A gentleman and a scholar...
Love Ken Hom. Love the way he explains each step.
Love this man could watch him all day
I love watching this guy cook . I first found Ken , some 20 odd years ago on Sky's QVC shopping channel . I couldn't believe how quick he could put a chinese meal together , in such a short space of time . He gives clear , concise instructions , with as other posters have already mentioned , the reasons behind these choices , and all in a really polite and humble kinda way . Even here he showed how to hold and use a cleaver . A very pleasant guy to watch .
I feel so much respect for you. Very gentle and docile fellow. Love your cooking.
Thanks so much, I love the teaching on how to cut the vegetables. You are a teacher by heart.

It's not really a Christmas dinner. More like soul food

This man is simply a MASTER & great teacher to boot. Also, the TV chef Simply Ming taught me the bell pepper cutting trick on 1 of his shows some years ago.

What a really lovely chap! Great tips here. Chow Mein can be so varied. My own tip is stick to veggies you like, I add shitake mushrooms instead of the peppers. Pre-cook meat and add if you don't want vegatatian. Great vid, thank you Ken

Awesome video Ken! So many tips too! I subscribed
+MaryKay We're so pleased you enjoyed it. Are there any other recipes you'd like to see on our channel?
+Tescofoodandwine chinese sweet & sour pork or hot & sour soup would be awesome:)
+MaryKay Thanks for the helpful feedback!
+MaryKay ken hom has an excellent (old) hot and sour soup recipe, I made it yesterday. It is absolutely easy (I thought it would be madly difficult).
I'm sure if he was actually serving this dish to others, he wouldn't have used the same chopstick. He probably shared it with his family, who drink/eat after each other all the time. Looked yummy! Love your videos, very informative
+Faith Lydia Seriously! '-_-

Awesome recipe for vegans! Why haven't I come across this sooner?👍🏻👍🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😍😍
Make sure you tell your friends.
Thanks for the recipe, you are clear and clever and it is a pleasure to learn from you, thanks very much.
You're the best, Ken Hom. Thank you.
for example, it is the only video I've seen that explains the difference between light and dark soy sauce, how to know if a wok is hot enough, why not to fine chop garlic in a stir fry, what is the logic behind the order of adding ingredients. Other recipes tell you to DO these things but do not tell you WHY
+littlecicero We are so glad that you like the video. We certainly believe that it is important to explain ingredients to people, especially if they are from other cuisines. Are you a big fan of Chinese dishes? :)
+Tescofoodandwine Thank you for your very kind reply. Before I lived in China, I always thought I had no sense of taste. But the culinary standard there is so extreme, that it was a revelation. Since then I have wanted to learn the basics but the youtube videos for Chinese cuisine are not as good as the ones for other cuisines, in my experience- except for this one, which is awesome :) I look forward to seeing the rest of the tesco ken him videos. Thank you very much for sharing these !!!!
+littlecicero That's very interesting! Yes, it is sadly quite hard to get stuck into cooking authentic recipes without covering a bit of the basics. We are so happy we can help you along on your Chinese culinary discovery, do keep us posted on how you get on :)
+Tescofoodandwine thank you very much indeed, I will keep you updated. I saw his tesco wok basics episode and that was excellent too. Have a wonderful day ! :)
Looks so kind and polite. Compare him with Gordon Ramsey. :-)
I paused the video and went to prep the ingredients. Dinner, I shall wait patiently for your time to come and enjoy you wholeheartedly. Thanks, Ken.
Beautifully presented by Mr Hom - looks absolutely delicious. If more westerners ate meals like this, we would be slim and healthy.
