I am doing my best to not make too many Nintendo Switch 2 videos. This is the second and last of January 2024 unless we get some big news this week. Doing my best to avoid clickbait.
Really appreciate that. With so many different reports, it's impossible to tell what's real and what's fake with the potential new console. The only thing that seems consistent is that something new is coming relatively soon.
February is literally in 3 days so "last NS2 video of January" comes off as a bit disingenous lol
@@pats3212True. Maybe wait till after the February Switch Direct on the 7th lol, then he can do another Switch 2 video.
There's gonna be a Nintendo Direct in February. They always have one every year. Maybe we'll get more news then.
@@TatankaTaylor Not on the new system we wont.
Trade offer:
YOU stop calling rumors news
WE start taking you seriously
All I want is for Nintendo to call it the Super Nintendo Switch
I don't know why some people are complaining that the next Nintendo system might likely have an LCD screen. Both a 2014 LCD screen and a 2024 LCD are not the same. If they're going to use an 8-inch, newer LCD screen, then that sounds good to me so far.
What I care about the most is if the new system will be backwards compatible with Switch games, and how powerful it will be.
That's what I'm saying, too.
This. I want backwards compatibility. I'm not interested in upgrading my current hardware if I have to go buy all my games again.
All I want is to be able to play all my old Switch games, and still take it anywhere.
You can already do that with your current Switch...congrats....
I can't help but have a sense of both excitement and dread. How do we know this thing would be good? We don't entirely understand this thing, yet the screen alone turned off people. Expectations are always high when it comes to console reveals.
Idk why people are turned off about the screen. A 2014 lcd screen is MUCH different than a 2024 lcd screen
@@uncanny6017 I KNOW! It's so overblown.
The power, the name, whether it's backwards compatible or not, and the features are the biggest concerns, but no. They lose it because a screen. 😒
The screen didn't turn anyone off who matters. People need to stop pretending, its highly unlikely they'll do another OLED screen. No matter how much people want to pretend the OLED hasn't sold amazingly well, because the general consumer who are the people who matter most didn't really care.
Anyone thinking they're going to worry about say 4k high framerate have some strong delusions and have some reality shock coming their way. They aren't going to release multiple screen SKUs based on a "screen" so safe bet 1080p screen and the model differences will be storage size. They don't care about the grafix whores, they look at general consumers.
Dread? It's a gaming console, not the 2nd coming.
@@SalvableRuin Hey, I'm just concern about the reception it may eventually get, man.
I think they might release two versions. LCD for 350$ and OLED for 400$. However I dont believe they are going to go 4K. It's likely going to be capped at 1080p.
The two version option is what I'm hoping for.
Same
Nah theyre definitely raising the prices to $400-500 range and they would probably blame it on inflation
4k will be for the Docked game play. Honestly 720p makes more sense once you understand how DLSS works. People fail to understand the first switch was a risk. That's why they went low spec. They waited for proof of concept from Nvidia (the shield handheld) then told Nvidia sure but only if you no longer make a portal shield. That's why Nvidia pivoted the shield console.
Nvidia is also entering the cpu for laptop and desktop based on ARM. Gaming will only get better as a result. PROTON FROM steam is awesome afterall
Nintendo won't. If that was the case the reports of manufacturers amassing a bunch of LCD screens for Nintendo would also include OLED. Nintendo won't do two different versions at launch, they don't want to confuse people. LCD>OLED anyway.
I just want to be able to play twilight princess on my current switch.
To me the Switch is still a very impressive console, the only real let down being stick drift.
Knowing the next console will be more powerful and most likely a hybrid console, I really hope stick drift is addressed.
I love playing in handheld mode but refrain doing so.
It’s definitely exciting times for Nintendo with great games still being released and a new console on the horizon.
Regardless if a new console is on the horizon, I hope we still get the annual February Nintendo Direct. Should be less than a month now!
A week from Wednesday. February 7th.
@@ItApproaches Do you have proof?
@@ItApproachesDon't lie unless you have overheard some news. I just trust you this time..
@@Axecon1 Logic. There has been a Direct in February in 4 of the past 5 years.
2019: Feb. 13th (Wednesday)
2020: Skipped (Pandemic started)
2021: Feb.17th (Wednesday)
2022: Feb. 9th (Wednesday)
2023: Feb. 8th (Wednesday)
So 2024, again the Direct will be on a Wednesday, like usual, and it will be the first half of February. So that means Feb. 7th or Feb. 14th. Would they do one on Valentines Day? Maybe.... So if it's not Feb. 7th, it will be the 14th.
84% of humans are idiots who can't critical think or analyze.
@@rrurangi I didn't lie. Just used logic.
We'll be lucky if the "Switch 2" will be even as powerful as the Steam Deck.
Steam Deck is just a portable PC, consoles get optimized games, especially the exclusive titles.
Probably wont be
Nah, pretty sure switch 2 will use arm architecture as they just save way more battery, Nintendo have magician developers that can put monster hunter world on the new switch while still being under powered than a steamdeck apu if they wanted
If it’s as powerful as a SD, but ARM based it will be epic!
I'm holding onto hope the switch successor has backwards compatibility with switch cartridges with some upscaling features. If not, it would have to come with some significant first-30-day game release line up. My best prediction is it will lean toward a digital-only game console to keep cost down and attract buyers. I hope not, but I would understand...
The portal isn't even a competitor, it's just not a gaming machine.
I’m sorry I don’t mind LCD and compare the new LCD vs the old LCD which slow people forget that it was a plastic LCD vs like the LCD that on the ps portal which is 8in LCD and it beautiful.
Love all ur videos
LCD screen is not as bad as people are making it out to be. Lets not compare a 2014 LCD screen to a 2023 LCD screen. If you want to know what you are gonna get with the switch 2, go look at the PS5 portal. Its comparable to the switch OLED screen.
There are many types of LCD screens. As long as it is a good LCD screen I don't mind
The thumbnail shows a Switch 2 mock-up with the screen labeled as 8', which means "8 feet". That would indeed be a game changer. The proper notation for "8 inches" is 8".
Just an FYI.
that is just a difference between North America and Europe like a lot of other countries use a , instead of . when dealing with money like they would right 49,99 instead of 49.00
@@craiggerhardstein7305 I'm going to call BS on this, unless you have a credible authoritative source. Did you just make this up?
It's an easy *mistake* for a European (especially non-British) to make, since they don't often deal in inches and feet, but nowhere is a single tick accepted as notation for inches rather than feet.
If the Switch 2 is gonna have an 8-inch screen LCD, I'm wondering if they will save the OLED upgrade at a later time for a mid-upgrade? Of course, I'm gonna wait until the big N officially announces the next system and reveals the actual specs and stuff.
I dont expect much on the Nintendo Switch 2. A stable 30 fps and decent graphics are all okay for me. Most importantly, consistent AAA 3rd party support is much needed because the current Switch lacks those games ever since the release of the console.
I gather from your video thumbnail, you speculate that they'll get rid of all the bezels, which would indeed be a positive aspect. Although some hold to the school of thought that black bezels are part of what makes the viewing experience better. A bigger screen is certainly a good route to go. Switches are quite tiny compared with their Windows and Linux-based rivals.
I know it won’t be possible because of the developer’s’ decision but I feel a need for the Master Mode and a DLC side story in Tears of the Kingdom.
Hopefully in the Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
There is much we do not know about the Zonai, no whereabouts of Rauru x Sonia’s child(ren) since they existed in the background, the unknown identity of the Ancient Hero, and there is very lil backstory of who this version of Ganondorf is before he becomes the Demon King.
Plus it would’ve give us a grand opportunity to see what Hyrule is like in the past with a playable Princess Zelda with her own gameplay that is far away from Link’s.
It's confirmed that they had kids? I knew it likely had to be the case since it was pretty much directly stated that Zelda was their descendant, but they never mentioned them in game (to my knowledge)
I don't need or want any more BOTW/TOTK DLC. I've had 8 years of it. It's time for Nintendo to move on. And Zelda being playable would be boring.
@@BrockLogicGaming They haven’t confirmed anything but I have a feeling Rauru and Sonia’s children are around. Otherwise, how Princess Zelda would ceased to exist if the generations before her isn’t born? And who will rule Hyrule after the Imprisoning War?
@@SalvableRuin What makes you think a playable Zelda is borning? 🤨
Maybe there'll be a hyrule warriors set during the imprisoning war.

@@commonwealthrealm That’s great new!

I think Nintendo should use folding screen tech for the next switch. It would be cool to see a full screen with the old DS folding design.
Like the old flip phones but but a system? well I guess they did that before with the Gameboy Advance SP.
@@ItApproaches he is talking more like the samsung fold where when you fold the screen down it has a screen on top then when you fold it up it doubles the screen size.

All I need to know: is it too early to start saving for a new console, spare controllers, and first game or two? Or should we wait a little while yet before we bother saving for something that we shouldn’t expect before, say, October 2024?
What? Lol
You should always be saving responsibly, no matter when video game consoles come out. I don't understand this question?
I started saving up back in October after Mario Wonder lol. Already got $500 off to the side and am ready for the console.
@@cg1906 not asking whether I should be saving for anything and everything, but specifically for the "Switch 2" at this time.
@@ItApproaches awesome! Then the only hard part will be getting one before the scalpers take them all. 😅
All I know is that if the next console is a flop to me, I'm permanently sticking to my steam deck and whatever else valve creates down the line.
I have a switch oled and a regular switch but with the weird account sign in the old switch is pretty much useless. I can pass that onto a friend. I hope this doesn't happen with a switch 2.. If so i'd probably set up a separate nintendo account. Want to be able to play all the switch games and the S2 games without issues.
Idk I feel like at 8 inches of screen size it will be a bit too big to play in handheld comfortably
I don’t care what screen what performance. I just want MORE GAMES
Was that bit about the new system not being revealed till second half of February after DK vs Mario a joke? Cause the new system ain't being revealed till early April.
Wouldn't it be funny if GTA VI gets confirmed for the Switch 2 (Or whatever it's called) and is a launch Window title
I want nintendoland 2 with og nintendoland HD
Since Eiji Aonuma and Miyamoto are surprising the construction of the Legend of Zelda land as part of Universal Studios Orlando‘s Super Nintendo World , what are are your hopes this upcoming attraction(s)?
I would genuinely like to have a Castle Town walk in with shopping stores with a restaurant, and 3D simulation theater ride where you be a part of the up close action as you joined Link and Princess Zelda’s journey to save Hyrule from Ganondorf.
Surprising? You mean supervising?
@@ItApproaches Yeah exactly
not sure why so many are but hurt with no OLED, good IPS is just fine, and also keep in mind, there is like no major mass production 8 inch OLED screens out there in mass, this would be very costly for nintendo to get a 8 inch oled when its not being mass produced, valve even waiting for OLED before jumping it, i expect the same thing for switch, revision will most likely be OLED.
Because they think the LCD is the same. An LCD screen from 2014 is not the same as an LCD screen from 2023 or this year.
Bergsala (Kungsbacka) 👏🏻
As long as they port over botw and totk with better frame rates and cleaner textures im happy.
Ahh yes..hopefully 😎
This is the next big thing I will buy
PlayStation portal is worth it . Especially if you want to play remotely. But only if you have a ps5
I just want a better user interface and maybe a reason to take my switch out into the world, like the 3ds had. Now that I can send clips to my phone, there is literally no reason to show someone my switch. Whereas I will never not want to see someones 3ds homescreen setup.
LCD>OLED.
Because OLEDs have a burn-in problem?
Imagine if Nintendo allowed you to access your Xbox or Steam library too on the Switch 2. Never gonna happen, but just imagine it.
I can imagine it also being called some daft like the Switch-Up. Either way I'm gonna be chucking every last rupee I have at it!
Nintendo Switcheroo
They wont. Nintendo is all about exclusivity. If its not nintendo, you wont be accessing it on a nintendo console
Even if they want it's technically impossible totally different platforms
Thanks for video.
Objective feedback:
No offence, but it’s hard to listen to you. Inconsistent voice levels, half words are loud, other half can barely hear. Random pauses, dude, please work on your diction. Wish you the best! 😊❤
I just want to play DS and 3Ds games
Lets be real here i think its just gonna be another slightly bigger oled that still has issues running most of the tripple a games at a standard 60 fps. We are lucky if the next console can atleast handle ps4 graphics.
That sounds great news! But will Switch 2 work on the other old Switch games like Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Super Mario Odyssey? I do want to end up with two systems.
Of course they will. Nintendo isn't stupid....
Switch doesn't work on Swotch games. Switch games work on Switch.
Honestly, if it’s not competitive or better than the steam deck/Ally, and can run at least steam link, I won’t be getting another switch. Tired of being locked into such a tiny ecosystem with such arbitrary rules/availability on apps like streaming video, browsers, etc.
I think it's unfair to use the original switch to represent LCD tech as it has evolved 7 years on
I Hope Nintendo Switch 2 Is Real
I feel like the news might of got overhyped, like switch pro->switch oled. I remember they were saying switch pro would have 60 fps, 4k resolution and cost 350 and people believed it. I feel as the next console will have 60 fps but stay at 720p. It will probably cost 400 and docked will be 1444p
thats what i am expecting. I feel like 1440 will be at the VERY most though, like if we are lucky kind of thing.
You shouldn't compare the Switch OLED to the original 2017 Switch to understand how a 2024 LCD will compare. You should compare the Switch OLED to something like the PlayStation Portal.
LCD technology has come along way in 7 years. It won't look like an original Switch. It won't look as good as a 2024 OLED screen, but it also won't cost as much as one either.
The switch OLED has one of the lowest quality OLED panels I've ever seen in my life
Hello there
General Skull Kid!
It's secret to everybody. Don't tell anyone.
Please ,NO Oled ..Only IPS
I don’t think the switch will come with pro controllers on the side because it ruins it as a portable device
Man u put Sekiro gameplay over the image of a switch i love u for that i want it so badly
I think they should make a new a console instead of a switch 2 cause it would be super repetitive
Or at least offer both. A Switch succcesor and a more powerful home console. The concept of the Switch is great however Nintendo needs to catch up with the competition. They have the money, especially after the succes of the Switch to produce a worthy successor. Cheers
I just want a new Animal Crossing game lol
hello
Hello there!
Nintendo should just make consoles for sony and Microsoft.
If Nintendo goes the way of Sega, of course. But that won't happen anytime soon.
Sunbro nation has so many click bait titles with nintendo switch 2 its ridiculous 😂
Why? It's not needed! There is nothing wrong with the current Switch! The games are more than enough. I wish the manufacturers would stop making consoles obsolete while they are still more than adequate!
there's need for a next gen Switch, the hardware is completely obsolete by now, first party Nintendo games are struggling to even maintain 30fps *BELOW* 720p, not to mention the embarrassing cloud version of every third party game released.. so yes a new Switch is very needed.
Nintendo has been sorta kinda disappointing for some time now, tbh I haven't purchased TotK and I don't regret it..
Are You Sure Nintendo Switch 2 Is Real Or Fake
Nintendo needs to give the consumer the option of LCD vs OLED. I’ll wait until the OLED version and partake in a ps5 pro with associated backlog until then.
No oled no buying 😂
Bloomberg always wrong
It'll probably fail like Wii U.
Nintendo already learned their lesson from the Wii U. If they keep their same marketing strategy like they did with the Switch, then it won't fail.
I JUST FINALLY got a Switch so I do hope they take their time with this successor
Your fine, the game library for switch is insane
@@HookLine48you're*
That's a selfish opinion. I've been playing the Switch for about 8 years. You don't have to buy the Switch 2 on day one just like you didn't buy the Switch on day one. Other people shouldn't have to wait for the last person to stop playing the original Switch haha
@@HookLine48 Trust me, I know that, I'm wrecking my head tryng to find ways to catch up.
Well, that's not how that works at all.
Here we go with gossip and over analyzing every word said.. I don’t even watch them anymore and move on.. I will listen when Nintendo decides to tell us until then why don’t people just enjoy what they have and all the games and back logs everyone complains about but minute it comes out it will be Switch 3 🙄
People really to stop spreading the dlss secret sauce myth. It is impossible to get something for nothing.
First off, dlss runs on a completely different set of processors than the ones rendering your game. They are called tensor cores, the ones that render and rasterize your games graphics are called cuda cores.
So at the most basic level what is happening is the gpu is taking a huge load off of one set of processors, and putting it on another, so they can both do their work at the same time.
As for dlss, it requires a MASSIVE amount of compute. The tensor cores are specialized hardware that can accelerate certain workloads 8, 16, and up to 32 times faster than cuda cores. So dlss is actually WAY more computationally taxing. It just has hardware that is WAY WAY more powerful for its specific tasks.
To put into context, the ga10f gpu in the switch 2 will get 3 Tflops fp32 out of its cuda cores @ 1 GHz. Tensor cores will get 24 sparse tensor Tflops fp16 @ 1ghz thats where the power to run dlss comes from.
I hope they release something completely different from the switch, the switch has already had a long enough life span and we're ready for something new. Nintendo isn't the type of company to remake the same conole over and over with just a few upgrades they make something completely new. If there truly is a Switch 2 I hope not but I feel like it'll be the same type of flop as the wii U as people (non gamers) fail to see why they need to upgrade
Your feelings make no sense because you don't seem to understand why the Wii U was a flop or why the Wii and Switch were a success. The Swotch succeeded because Nintendo didn't repeat their Wii U mistakes. Those lessons have been learned. To this day, most people don't even know what a Wii U is. There is still massive demand for the Switch, so a Switch 2 would have massive demand. Should apple not release the next iPhone because it might flop? If there is market demand, there's money to be made.
Maybe they keep the handheld part being a way to please the Switch die hards, but the Home console side is totally different? I'd be fine with that.
@@SalvableRuin apple is like Playstation constantly doing the same thing over and over, Nintendo isn't they can't be compared (also for reference most people have forgotten the Wii too ask younger people lol)
The Wii U was a flop as it was too similar to the Wii and didn't stand out so normal people were like "huh bulky controller that does the same as my Wii, why do I need a second Wii?"
@@sagafun8954 I would say it was a combination of many wrong choices, which culminated in the catastrophe that was the Wii U. I'd point:
- Nintendo couldn't even make clear it was a new console, not an accessory for the Wii
- Name the new console ''Wii U'', just increased this wrong perception.
- The new controller didn't provide compelling experiences.
- PS4 came the following year with much better hardware and fair price.
No, they need to keep it the same. Nintendo struck gold with the whole portable/docked Formula. This is the reason why the switch sold so well. However the complaint that most people have with the current switch is that it's too weak. So all Nintendo need to do is release a more powerful console. This is exactly what Sony and Microsoft do and their consoles sell extremely well.
The Wii U was a flop because people thought it was an accessory to the Wii instead of a successor.
I dont think this will be a success.

Absolute disappointment if true. They just gave us a Switch with an OLED and they are going to go back to LCD for the next generation Switch? That’s such an anti-consumer practice and we should be telling them straight. Hope it’s not true.
They definitely want to save OLED for a mid gen top model. Just like with the Switch
nah, matter of perspective:
All the poeple who play (almost) only docked would have to pay more for absolutely nothing in return ... now would't that be anti-consumer?
1. I play mostly docked. I don't care about an OLED screen, so I don't need to pay an extra $50 for it.
2. LCDs are less susceptible to burn-in than OLEDs, so they last longer.
3. There are different qualities of LCD. The Switch 2's screen will be higher quality and resolution than the Switch's, and the system itself will be more powerful and have better lighting, shading, etc.
4. Stop being whiny and petulant. You aren't a child.
@@SalvableRuin
I prefer an LCD too. Play docked 95% of the time, what do I need an OLED for???
LCD's got better since 2017 anyway...
