After a run of nice comfortable cars from the stables of France and Germany, I decided to buy a 2011 Jimny. My son called it a skate board and some other folks laughed at me. But I can luff in a converse way too. In making this my choice it is based on form and function. Living in a semi rural part of Yorkshire with commutes to work on farm roads and other main roads can become treacherous in winter. Last winter my then VW Touran just shat its pants when it snowed and became an uncontrollable bob sleigh. So after a lot of research and longing for a 4x4 that had some guts and proper off road systems, I chose the little Jinmy over any other SUV type crossover. The reason being that although small, it is very cheap to insure, operate and service but above all and I say this hand on heart, no other vehicle has brought a smile to my face when driven. It plods along and gets me down some tight rural tracks, it is a joy to park in any city, it swallows scavenged wood for my stove and should extra capacity be needed I have options such as a roof rack, trailer or tow bar luggage rack. Diminutive it may be typecast but I dare any one to drive one and not end up respecting is versatile capabilities while feeling a certain joy that other cars have never given me.
You probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my gf for the last months xD
actually i did many trips from belgium, to italy with my 1.3 2003 jimny, on highways! but you have to stay at 90 km/h, behind the trucks, otherwise fuel consumption reaches the sun. Not the most confortable for highways, but defenitely can if you're not in hurry :)
Exactly. The RPMs get far too high for normal highway driving and I can imagine the consumption as well. Not to mention my ears would probably pop if I were to drive that long at high speeds. I still love the no-excuses-simplicity of it, though!
Never drove it yet, but love Jimny already. This year I've bought a new Suzuki S-Cross AllGrip for my family use, but I know one thing - sooner or later I'll also get old Jimny to have real fun in the mud!
I own this version .. 2016 is wonderfull. I use on weekends to ham radio local expeditions "QRP" with camping equipment . GRETTINGS FOR ALL Jimny OWNERS FROM SOUTHERN POLAND . NICE VIDEO AND REVIEW .. radio amateur 73!

yeap, I want one, always liked small 4x4, after unable to get up snow covered hill easily in my vw fox and bottom out in deeper parts, hopefully a Jimney should handle snowed up roads... hardly use motorways anyway.
Is it really bad on the motorway? Does it consume alot of fuel unlike other cars? I love the jimny and how it looks and want to get it but I plan to go on alot of trips and travels around the UK and I want to know if its capable of doing that rather than jus on mud and snow! I wanna know if its worth getting or should I just get something else?
It's absolutely capable of long road trips. The real question in a high-revving, noisy car like this is - are you? I would certainly opt for something like a Vitara if you're not going to be doing lots of off-roading. Still capable but lacks the reduction gearbox and is far more refined.

Well written and perfectly sums up my thoughts about the car.
I own this one, and I couldn't agree more, exactly what is like to drive it. Great Review.

Great review... simple, straightforward, funny but not too much 😊

Your English is superb! On the motorway its fine between 60 and 70 mph.
Thank you. This car is a lot of fun.
Nice review

Yes Jimny is a slow car but it is not the basis sometime its capabilities will tell how special a car is. I love Jimny 👌
I wish we could have had these here in Canada. Though a 1.6 would have been more suitable. There's nothing I like more than a frame and solid axles.
You can find circa 2000 models, left hand drive for under 10k in great shape. Under 100k kms
nice review when the new model wil come out?
Very cool upload!
nice car so thos car what year of manufacture?
Hi! U can make a review or pov drive test at Skoda Rapid 1.0 tsi 95hp(70kw)Smart version. Ty!

When in India..?
When new Jimny is comming in India. Being a seniorcitizen l want for city driving & not for offroad in automatic version.
I have the Jimny Forest, the most equipped version here in Brazil, it stays at 3000 rpm at 100 km/h, it`s not the worst thing on highways ...
3000 rpm would be doable. Over here, the speed limit is 130km/h with most people going about 140. So, you can imagine the racket inside the Jimny. :)
Can i use 4h when driving on highway ? Can it damage something or its perfactly safe ?
Don't do it absolutely. You can only use it on the slippery surfaces.
How is The driver ergonomy? I'm 183cm and wondering will steering wheel be too far for me.
183 is not far off from my height. I felt fine but the only way to be sure is to sit in one yourself.
You remind me of Doug for some reason...
nice
Nice
what year model is this 2oo4? someone ?
2018
I heard that engine is just 660 cc ??
You're probably thinking about the Mazda AZ Offroad, which is a rebadged Jimny. The Jimny has larger displacement engines.
1300
I think it come under 'K' car rules in Japan and is a 660cc but 1300 here in Europe. I gather one can replace it with engines from the Vitara?
METALCANYON?!
Lol, i have a jimny AND a slammed Honda, love the snowy hill comment 😆
I'm assuming the slammed Honda is JUST as capable off-road as the Jimny...? ;)
Izuzetan ali isuviše skup za države bivšeg Ex Yu.
