  • Tommy Whittle - one of the greats in the lineage of UK tenor sax players.
    He was such a lovely person and made it so easy for the other musicians. He played marvellously on each of his three visits. Recorded at Blaydon House Sports & Social Club.
    With Billy Harper (piano), Mick Shoulder (bass), Billy Shield (drums), Roly Veitch (guitar).

      Yes some great playing. He came up to Blaydon three times. Such a sweet, lovely person, a gentleman. And he could play so beautifully.
