Man that'd be gutwrenching, imagine for a second if the emperor being a corpse possessed by a Cryptos was actually the case. Its the very end of 40k, everything going to shit, and the imperium needs the emperor, so they try to rezz him, only for his lifeless skeleton body to fall from the golden throne and disintegrate to dust, then a vaperous green gas tries to flee from it only to die at the feet of an adeptus custodes. And all the custodes are left looking at the emperor's dust body, as the last hope for man kind fades, and the realization that the emperor was just an alien in a flesh suit becomes apparent. Now that'd be a grimdark ending to 40k. Kinda cheap maybe, but can you imagine such a thing?

Or maybe just before the host body is about to die the cryptos orders the custodians to bring the body of a psycher that was created by the geneators on terra at the orders of the "god emperor." He then orders them to leave and he jumps bodies when no one is there. Now the imperium is made to believe the emperor has reincarnated.

That is what I thought originally. I thought that they might be the old ones who hid from the C'tan and the necrons or they are the few necrontyr who didn't trust the ctan or the silent king and found a different way to get eternal life.

More likely its a cryotos stopping him from dying and coming back. Something is aware of the pipetual nature of the emperor and is doing its best to stop him from dieing or talking to anyone.
The sheer level of heresy in this video is beyond description.

It would make sense why the God Emperor was so desperate to save Horus. Horus could have been controlled by a Cryptos as well but could have been corrupted by Chaos.

Question (or maybe suggestion): Could you do a ranking of primarchs? Like obviously Lorgar is the weakest, Angron is up there at the top, but where would you put generic primarchs like Guilliman or Lionel, who don't really have any specific mutations or particular strengths? Also how much would the balance change after the chaos corruption? Like, Lorgar who ascended to Daemon Hood - would he no longer be the weakest? Would love to see some of your guys personal thoughts, sorta like a podcast, rather than facts.

I'm new to 40k lore and a kinda new player (?) But could the Cryptos be parts of a greater C'than that died/ was blown up? They tend to look for fear, have possession capabilities, and move around in herds hiding from something. It makes me wonder what would happen if you got a bunch together....

I'd say there are/were too many powerful enough psycers around him to fully conceal his true nature as being a cryptos. Surely Malcador or Magnus have spotted the cryptos

I would say it is plausible, except for how long the emperor has lived, and some of the feats he has accomplished. None of cryptos have ever shown psy powers as great as the emperor(akin to a chaos god) and none of them create their own chaos demon equivalents(living saints/legion of the damned). Also, the level of technology he created outstrips everything the cryptos have shown thus far. Also note that when the emperor was alive, he wanted everyone to follow the imperial truth, not worship him as a god.

The Crypto would have never had the power to boost a, however powerful regular psyker, to the level of the emperor. Other than that the explanation would be pail in comparison to the ritual mass suicide of shamans. So no I disagree.
I concur, entirely, especially since the humans could only have met the crytos during the dark age of technology when they left Terra, But the Emperor is confirmed to have been nt only alive significantly before that, but also powerful enough to imprision the Void Dragon on Mars, so he cannot possibly be a cryptos, unless he was possesed by one during the dark age of technology, which I find inconceivable, considering that the cryto would have to posses a being powerful enough to slay a (presumably fully formed) Void Dragon!
unless the crypto was his races equivalent to the emperor. a crypto-kryptonian? hey, just moving the decimal points until the heresy is plausible. like the ever rare eldar fighting in a thousand tabletop battles, despite a birthrate that leaves their women pregnant once every eclipse on a leap year.
