For example a marine was so loyal to the Primarch Magnus the red, that in the beggining of Horus heresy he fallowed his primarch to the trecherious way, but after seeing where it leads , he decides to go back and fight for the emperor, because all bad he did ,was driven by his loyalty and duty so he maintained his sanity.

    Many of the Primarches that fell to Chaos have the saddest stories.
    Magnus did no wrong, but instead, he tried to prevent the real threat from happening granted he broke his Father's rules to do so.
    Fulgrim (Spelled incorrect) screwed his own life up by taking that damn sword.
    Anagron suffered from the Butcher's Nails that were stuck in his brain. So, he was in constant pain.
    As for the others, they mostly joined Chaos out of small reasons that cloud their judgement of their own situation.
    Overall, each Primarch had their own reasons for leaving the imperium; however, I blame the Emperor due to what he didn't tell them or show them.

      Bit unlikely and that would be disappointing. They are supposedly the smartest primachs, have had the best training by the emperor and operate more like assassins than marines. They must have a secret mission to protect the human race no matter what.
      Both are surely alive and amassing huge numbers, intelligence, tech and positions of power for 10 millennia now.
      They could have infiltrated most of the imperium by now. They sure have their own Mechanicus division and would be easy to conquer hundreds of worlds without anyone knowing. Or hide forces as rogue traders, explorators or even black ships.
      Imagine not being hindered by bureaucracy, limits on (here)tech or morals? They never have to waste troops or resources unless for the long game!

      @teambellavsteamalice Před 6 lety +1

      Laughing Man
      I thought they hinted all Alpha Legion marines could pose as Alpharius so you'd never know?
      With mechanized power armor and bionics, there is no benefit to being 7+ feet tall all the time. Marines that could pose as humans could infiltrate anywhere. A nondescript human sized primarch could be anywhere and never be found. And when you want to be big and imposing, just don the right bionics and armor!
      Aren't both Alpharius and Omegon supposed to be incredibly strong psykers? At least one of them could specialize in divining powers, and steer the future from the shadows. They could even hide among the Astra Telepathica or one of the Assassinorum and recruit from there in secret.

    Will the empire splinter into separate factions, maybe space marine chapters ruling huges separate kingdoms?
    I think it'll be funny if say Dark Angels try to take control of the Dark Imperium beyond the rift.
    Maybe the purpose of the Alpha Legion was to creat an independent faction?
    I'm also fan of the idea the Scattered Legions never died nor returned to the Imperium. Instead they carve out whole kingdoms on the outer fringes of the milky way, controlling some Rogue Trader dynasties and joining/posing as Death Watch companies to hide their existance from both Imperium and Chaos.

Their best units even for close combat seem to get spanked by everyone, bar maybe tau who rival or surpass then in ranged, imperials seem to be on the losing end of close combat and shooting, and necrons have the ctan, for playable statted units (until gulliman came).

    Question: Just how scientifically illiterate is the Empire of Man? It seems clear the 'rituals' performed are routine maintenance procedures or repair instructions, and 'holy oils and unguents' are fluids for cooling, lubrication etc, but does the average citizen think electricity is a visible 'machine spirit'? Do Tech Priests understand elementary physics like what particles make up an atom?

    • @CorvusCorone68
      @CorvusCorone68 Před 6 lety +2

      there's very little science in the IoM, mostly beliefs and traditions and superstitions; Tech Priests who seek that sort of understanding tend to be branded as Hereteks
      the way i see it, the Emperor is like Julius Caesar, the IoM is like the Roman Empire, the current time period is like techno-medieval, tech is stagnating/degrading/seen as pagan (like public baths were in medieval times), what innovation there is isn't done according to scientific methods but just incremental improvements so as not to be branded a heretic by the Church for blasphemy and all that; in medieval times peasants couldn't read/write and could only do basic math; they were expected to work for their lord in the roles he put them in, not to seek self-improvement; the IoM isn't even Renaissance-era yet

    Dunno about returning or redemption but the Night Haunter is my favourite primarch from fallen and loyalists alike. Maybe he finally has peace and we should let him rest. And when talking about redemption I think he always tried to do the right thing but was a victim of unfortunate circumstances which lead his mind to be a tad unstable... Or maybe his problem was more of his tendensy to push every issue to the extreme of false dilemma. Like concentrating problems into pure black and white when there actully are nyances... But the heightened sense or justice and the situation in Nostromo sort of explains why spiraled down to that ...

    This was really cool to listen to, but I think especially in regard to the thousands sons, more details about the primarch would help to cement the decisions. Magnus doesn't just hate the imperium, for the longest time, he was loyal, but he joined the Horus army because the Emperor still contained the last, final shard of his soul in captivity and he was looking for a means to regain this. The thousand sons were never really loyal to the chaos side, neither were they interested in just destroying the imperium. But after the events that destroyed his primary physical body, Magnus and his sons worked to get the primarchs's soul shards back in order to make him complete.
    Though that is all based on the stories I've read so far, maybe I'm missing things, if I am, disregard this. Still, think that so far as I know it, despite it being a traitor legion, it wasn't one that turned traitor FOR Horus, but one for it's own goals and purposes.

    QUESTION_1: Hello OMS! Thanks once again for a quick answer and as always keep the great work!
    About the phase in planets I was asking about non-chaos phase-in/out phenomens - like Necrons would left some sort of device that would transfer the planet not into warp but yet another dimension.
    Its said that some of their tech can "banish" the oponent into other dimension yet its not stated as warp :)
    QUESTION_2: Are weapons variations possible for Imperial knights? Like it would have some weapon specific for one type of Knight, but from the other hand it would also posses a weapon from yet other variant?
    Is it be possible that there could be a thing like a Construction Kight ? Basicly they were a means of constructing a collony from scratch and stuff... So if it would be armed with grav-guns (tracker beams :P ) ,
    Giant bigass plasma blaster[Omega Pattern Plasma Blastgun - a scaled down plasma blastgun] (a plasma arc welder) and a siege-claw (thunderstrike gauntlet?) and some contruction tentacles/mechadendrites like machine-priest got to handle the construction?
    It would make sence with the rule of cool, but do I need some lore to back it up ?

Not sure why, maybe for shits and giggles, maybe for survival necessary (f.e. it necrodermis "shell" has taken some terrible, terrible damage, You name it).
