  • The new Basso Diamante Super Veloce road bike frame not only shines with a special paint job and internal cable routing, but also with its low weight. The lightweight carbon frame of the Basso Diamante SV from Italy is therefore made for a road bike channel Dreambuild. For the custom build, we only use the best that the roadbike world has to offer. So in this video a dream of a bicycle emerges and you can see how to do it step by step. In this bike build, the classical Basso racing bike rolls on light Mavic Cosmic Carbon wheels and fast Pirelli Zero Race tubeless tires. The SQlab saddle and the SQlab bartape offer comfort on long rides. The aerodynamic carbon road bike is a top bike and is stopped by hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. The Basso bike is driven by a Rotor crank and a Shimano Dura Ace drivetrain. The dreambuild of the Basso Diamante SV roadbike is ready for every road race and a dream for every bike workshop.

    Hello, thanks for your nice video. I would like to Ask you, how much space did you leave between the top of the fork tube and the stem, which torque you applied on the expansion cylinder, and finally which product did you applied on the fork tube after cutting?

    More important than the weights on bicycle dream builds of any brand, is showing if the BB shells are round.
    If I was buying a carbon frame I would want to know if what I am buying is up to spec. This is the main reason I went for titanium, I’m just not confident even on high end brands, of the manufacturing quality and QC.
    I can see why people buy an electronic groupset instead of ‘fully’ internal, looks an absolute pain to install. I was surprised that this build is only 800g lighter (only 600g lighter now, upgraded parts 😏) than my Ti build and some of my parts are not the lightest. 🤔😏
    Enjoyed the build though. 🙂🙂

    • @moritzorama
      @moritzorama Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, I enjoyed the video and the looks of the bike as well, but I wouldn't call it lightweight either. I still can't believe, Basso offers you a 306,5 g (!) stem on 4.500€ frameset. Even it is aero, that is just way too heavy.

    • @roadbikechannel
      @roadbikechannel  Před 2 lety

      Yea, you could go way lighter of course. Much of the weight is caused by the aerodynamics and the integration system of frame and cockpit ;).

    I’m enjoying the bike so far czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

    Ngl, without pedals and bottle cages that weight doesn't mean a whole lot, it'd be an 8kg bike with pedals but it's ok, cuz as long as it rides good who cares ( not a weight wheenie, just a realist )

    Die hässlichen Rotor-Kurbeln mit den sinnlosen ovalen Kettenrädern sind eine Schande für den hübschen Rahmen (gut, Geschmackssache). Auch faszinierend ist, wie uninteressant das Thema Gewicht zu sein scheint: Über 1100 Gramm wiegt der Rahmen, fast 300 Gramm der Lenker, und die über 300 Gramm für den Vorbau sind einfach nur peinlich. Allein mit Lenker und Vorbau ließe sich über ein halbes Pfund Gewicht sparen, leider passt kein anderer Vorbau an diesen Rahmen. Ja, Aerodynamik mag wichtiger sein als Gewicht, aber ein leichtes Aero-Rennrad ist immer noch schneller als ein schweres.
