- After a handfull of electrical issues … i decided it was time to go back to the oem components and kick-start-only. You can now start this bike pretty much wearing slippers :-)
What a ripper! I ripped around doing some heat cycles, and break in…. We will now get this finished up for the next video!
This bike started as a 2019 RMZ450 chassis , custom built and modified for a HONDA CR500R motor/carb/electrical and built with modern honda style Ohlins Suspension from the motocross bike.

It really has that natural size and look of a legit trike. Gotta love that 2 stroke pop pop pop .
Sweet. I love the sound and power delivery of 2 strokes more than 4 strokes. Modern 4 strokes are almost too easy to ride fast.
Gunna have to agree on that one with liking the feel more but 4 stroke are a lot harder to ride for the simple fact there always in the shop if you wanna keep them running right plus i race enduro and 2 strokes tractor up stuff better
i dream of getting one of these two stroke monsters from you guys.

Sweet,wish they had these when I was growing up on Kodiak Island Alaska,I had to settle for the original 250r models but they were a blast also,1 was even registered for the street,cops didnt care if we road thru town anyway with 2500 people in town lol.Had a cr480 and 500 and shit load of other bikes .Used to take sheet metal screws through inside of tires and line with carpet to ride on ice and mountains covered in snow,didnt have ice getters back then,looked like ice racing bikes.

I bought a Suzuki LT160 quad, the front was hacked off & a set of RM forks crudely welded on , 8 called it the " freak trike" . The engine was tired, burned oil, finally the wrist pin seized up,sold the carcass for $100. Swapped out the bitchin rear tires & kept the barkbusters
I spent some time on a LT160 when i was 11 … good times
@@BVCOFFROAD I owned 5 a few years ago , bought dead ones for 1-300 ea- jammed trans this, seizes engine that, one had roasted rear axle bearngs, the last one had nothing but old fuel.wrong with it. I got 4/ 5 running, but not all at once . Too small to really go crazy on, but quiet, mellow, goof around machines. I could lend them.to friends that don't ride & they wouldn't get hurt

Love your builds BVC, I wish yall would make updated quads as well. Like Service Honda makes the up to date CR250s and CR500s I would imagine y'all would kill it. But I may be completely wrong either way, ya'lls builds are kick ass and would love to see like a 2021 LTR450, TRX450 or even a KFX450!!

Its hard enough to find a Maico, let alone butcher it.
@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 the guy who owns Maico now has the molds to all the motor's so all you have to do is go to the website and choose the motor you want and they will have it made. I am not 100% shure if you can get the older frame but I believe you can get the 2017 one with plastics.
Sweet, but how about a true blue Suzuki Quadzilla 500cc 2 stroke engine from back in the day stuffed into a Suzuki trike converted frame? Never the less, awesome work man! Not hating at all brotha!

BUT
Cr500 motor is just where its at having a aftermarket support following … cant beat it.
Aside from being hard to find, and expensive, ths LT500 engines were pretty fragile, with thin and porus castings. If there were aftermarket billet cases, cranks, transmissions, etc, it would be a more feasible conversion. But, all of those items, and more, are allready available for the CR500, making it more a practical application, higher production numbers notwithstanding.

I would love nothing more than to have a trike! All I want to do is ride but my yfm350x has clutch issues. New tuck comp clutch with heavy springs and new cable. Slips from top of 2nd-6th. I'm so fkn frustrated with it
How much free play do you have at the lever?
@@BVCOFFROAD all of it and none of it. I tried adjusting it every possible way I could think of. I used wet clutch compatible oil also. Did everything by the book "literally"

I would have loved to use a qesodilly motor but…. 1 it dont fit this chassis for shit and 2 i wanted my customer to have a updated rebuilt motor that would be super reliable and have a good aftermarket following (for things like cases… crank… trans…)

Nothing worse than a “kit” designed to make life easier and all it does is create a massive headache. Hopefully they can sort that out for you. Keep pumping out the quality guys.
I love the idea of it, and the billet pcs in his kit are wicked high quality… if he can get us a flywheel with correct taper that doeent make it break the key / change timing then itll be a good kit .
We had similar issue on the honda build and the larger key was the fix, how ever this one was a no go.

Hi. To be fair, it is a Suzuki RMZ frame with a Honda CR500 engine. Which makes it either a Suzuki with an Honda engine, or a Honda CR500 in a Suzuki frame. In this case we prefer to call it a Suzuki with an Honda engine justa as Pastrana did with his RMZilla 500.
The og honda, and kawasaki atcs are cool and all but holy crap you guys are commiting some war crimes in that shop, please put that poor engine back in the cr500 it belongs in 😂
