Sadly, as an adult, I now realize that all I was doing was burning my taste buds! XD So, while I still LOVE spicy, I hold back! And sometimes, I will even order wings without any heat to them! Which is honestly a huge step because before, I would feel embarrassed if I didn't get at least the normal hot level.
Yeah because knowing Ed, he was either nasty or immature about it, he wouldn't be the Dad/StepDad to make chicken nuggets for the kid if they didn't like his cooking. He'd be a 'eat it or go hungry you brat' type of dad.

As someone with gerd and allergic to peppers. I hate people who think you're a "baby" for not handling spice. A literal dash of black pepper makes me throw up acid for days. Some people just aren't equipped to handle certain foods. And I'm not "picky" or immature for avoiding foods that hurt and literally kill me. I've had a waiter roll their eyes when I ask the ingredients. Like sorry I want to dine out comfortably? The whole "then just don't go out" arguement is stupid, sometimes you don't want to cook, or can't, or enjoy a special occasion. We shouldn't have to live like hermits because sime don't want to accommodate others
I feel you! I also have GERD and a hiatal hernia, and ii absolutely can't have onions let alone anything even close to spicy. It's hard to eat out and not feel uncomfortable for having dietary restrictions. I'm not about to be in pain for days just so I don't seem "picky"!

Reminds me when I had histamine intolerance. I love food but after Salmonellosis it happened. Food was my worst enemy. I was extremely picky eater because almost every food made me "toilet resident" and when the histamine kicked in I couldn't breath, had chills and with dyspnoea came also anxiety. For example only 2 pieces of chocolate or small white yoghurt knocked me off. And of course people around me was like: "Sheeesh, eat it. You only want something extra. You will throw up... and? You have trouble with breathing, too? No, you only want attention! You're young and no way you have problems like that!" After histamine diet everything went better - Now I can even tolerate more amount of histamine rich food.
My boyfriend doesn't eat fruit and veggies after traumatic experience from childhood. And? Cooking for him can be true challenge, but I love him, so I don't care. So when we go to restaurant, he only eats french fries or cheese pizza and I Caesar salad or pasta. Safest option for both of us.

Youth doesn't guarantee health, I'm 29 and I'm in a wheelchair for the 3rd time, I've had heart surgery at 19, a tonsillectomy at 14, I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and pill cam before I was 25. I attempted suicide at 23, have had several cases of anemia that led to a iron infusion which I also had a allergic reaction to, I fainted had hives if I wasn't already in a medical institute I would have died. I had such severe dehydration from a medication the doctors thought I had a stroke it took 2 liters (I'm 4'10 so that's a lot) I've had an ulcer in my lower intestine, had an infection that made me sh*t literal blood. All this and way more lead me to having to drop out of school and now I'm on ssi because I'm not allowed to be on disability because I haven't worked before. Yeah no shit because I was born disabled, wtf. I get paid less due to this so yeah. The US is not friendly to people born with health issues. Oh fun fact a lot of my tests aren't conclusive enough for the insurance to pay for better treatments so that's fun I'm stuck in limbo. Sorry for the rant I just hate when people think young people can't have these issues. How many 24 year olds have to deal with the shame of incontinence...

Let's just pretend this relationship was real. At this point, there is no "poor Liz." Par for the course for Ed. He's not a family man for his own family and there's no way he could have been for Liz and her daughter. When Liz got her daughter for summer he couldn't handle it. He told his sister "this is just how she is" instead of being honest with himself and everyone else, that he can't handle other people.
