What a wonderful concert... Thanks for sharing this... I just wanted to leave this message to thank you, because I actually got emotional watching it... I'll admit it, I got a bit misty-eyed and choked up!...
I too have had the privilege of seeing John Williams perform live, TWICE... The first time was way back in 1986, where you were... at the Hollywood Bowl in California... Williams performed Raiders of the Lost Ark, Superman, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-terrestrial, Jane Eyre,
The Cowboys, and The Reivers (with special guest narrator Burgess Meredith), as well as John Barry's Out of Africa (which had just won the Oscar for Best Score that year)... Surprisingly, John Williams did NOT perform Star Wars that night, which kind of bummed me out (even though I loved the concert),
as Star Wars is both my favorite movie and my favorite film score...
    HAPPILY, HOWEVER... 31 years later...
I had the surprise of my life (along with everyone else in attendance) when John Williams made a surprise appearance at the very end of the 40th Anniversary panel at Star Wars Celebration in Florida in 2017... Just when I thought that the event couldn't get any better, by getting to see George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and everyone else that was at the panel... at the end of the Carrie Fisher tribute, the stage curtains opened up... and there was John Williams and the Orlando Philharmonic! The maestro performed the Star Wars Main Theme, Princess Leia's Theme, and the Imperial March...
AT LAST... After 31 years, I finally felt COMPLETE!
It was such a thrill last week to go to the movie theatre and hear Williams' wonderful new score to the equally wonderful film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny... I never dreamed way back in 1981 when I was 14 years old watching Raiders of the Lost Ark, that FORTY-TWO YEARS LATER, I would be watching a FIFTH film with Harrison Ford STILL STARRING and John Williams STILL COMPOSING... Yet here we are!
Again, thank you so much for sharing this video... It brought back such happy memories...
And thank you, John Williams, the greatest film composer of all time!
PS: An amusing aside... Judging by your video, it looks like you were sitting
ALMOST EXACTLY where I was sitting all those years ago in 1986!
