Kelly was the first American Idol. In the 21 years since she’s won she has become the only artist to have a #1 song on the pop, country, holiday, adult contemporary, and all genre charts. She has multiple Grammys along with many other industry awards. Her talk show started 4 years ago, and she’s won 5 Emmys (so far) and she does a Kellyoke every show, which she learns literally right before performing, and can sing pretty much any genre. She’s been doing Kellyokes on tour for over 15 years, and a fan in attendance at each show requests it and she learns it day of in soundcheck. She’s one of the greatest vocalists of her (and really any) generation and gets so little credit for it. The Kellyokes have really opened up a lot of people’s eyes in recent years though!

You're me about 10 years ago, when I first discovered Kelly. I had heard of her in passing, but I didn't really know that she was THAT good. Like you, I did a deep dive and have decided that she really has to be one of the best vocalist of all time. She can literally sing any genre. All of her Kellyokes are good, but they're all short. She learns them only a few minutes before singing them. Her own catalog, going back 20 years, is also quite impressive. However, I'm beginning to believe that her voice is even better today than it was early in her career and the music she put out recently is truly some of her best work. You definitely would've heard her songs...they're pretty popular. Especially the older hit songs like Because Of You, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Stronger etc. They were all over the radio! Plus Underneath The Tree is played every christmas - probably one of the most popular new modern christmas songs (and she wrote it). The deep cuts are on another level though, they really rip your heart out
Kelly also is a song writer extraordinaire. I believe she wrote almost all the songs on her newest Album- chemistry! Check it out…it’s so amazingly heartfelt about love found and love lost. The track “Lighthouse” shines with emotion. It shows how her voice excels in all genres of music.

Kelly Clarkson; making grown men cry since 2002. I just love this reaction. Your face when you slightly smirk and smile, showing a tiny bit of disbelief and approval at the same time. That is what I probably look like when I watch these performances. I love the 'bloody hell' remark, it is exacly what I was thinking when I saw that that high belted part for the 2nd and 3rd time. She is probably one of the best pop / soul voices on the planet for quite some time. She can litterally sing anything and nearly everything comes out great, often better than the original. To use an analogy: When most people sing, they are like a minivan or a medium sized family car, when Kelly sings, especially when she gives a little bit of gas, she is a fucking lamborghini.

I had never really paid much attention to KC, and I cynically rolled my eyes when she started her talk show few years ago. But I was happy to be proven wrong...she's a genuine and enthusiastic host. And as you stated, when it could easily be kind of embarrassing or cringey, the Kellyoke segments are always amazing! You never know what she'll do next but you know it'll be impressive. Again, I think it goes back to her genuine and enthusiastic nature....she loves music and it shows. Also, she's a proud Texas girl who doesn't try to mask her accent, so that's probably where some of the hints of country come in.

If you wonder if Kelly can sing any genre or can cover any artist, watch “I Never Loved A Man” From a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Her tribute to Garth Brooks “The Dance” or tribute to Dolly Parton with “I Will Always Love You” goes to show how much confidence in her ability those in the business are to ask her to perform at the awards for these legends. I used to think she was pretty good in her younger years, but man, she is definitely at the top now.

I think one thing that makes her able to sing across so many different genres is the fact that she was classically trained in opera. She’s been able to take the foundation of great technique and not only apply it across the spectrum of music, but also keep her voice healthy over all these years.
Also, some of the Kellyoke performances from within just the last couple of months have been some of the best she’s ever done. So I highly recommend pretty much any of those. Her voice just keeps getting better.

When you do Piece by Piece, listen to the idol version first. She wrote that song while she was pregnant. It was her first time singing the song post-divorce and she changed the lyrics an hour before the show. Both are so powerful for the moments she was in.

She did a good version of The One That Got Away, a faithful cover of Love Takes Time, she also did a new rendition of 9 to 5 (as a duet with Dolly Parton), but to be honest, her voice is not only powerful but also very versatile, so she can sing practically anything and the result will be great.
I’m so glad you’ve “discovered” Kelly and her powerhouse voice. The Kellyokes are a great introduction, but hopefully you’ll check out some of her original music too. Songs like “Breakaway,” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” “Because of You,” “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Stronger” are early 2000s classics (along with the aforementioned “Since U Been Gone”). Her recent music may not be as buzzy as her earlier hits, but they showcase a maturity and artistry that may have been lacking a bit when she was just starting out. I’d also recommend checking out her viral “Piece by Piece” performance (I challenge you not to be moved by it!), her cover of “It’s Quiet Uptown” from “Hamilton,” and her current single “lighthouse.” Hope to see more Kelly on your channel!
She has several great albums, and her newest came out June of this year. There's not a bad song on it, but one of my favorites is lighthouse. She has also done extraordinary performances on a few different award shows including The Billboard Music Awards 2018 and 2019. Also, 8 months ago she performed with Pink and Pat Benatar..iheart radio, and the list goes on.
You must hear her on Billie Eilish's song "Happier Than Ever." These songs she is killing, as she does with anything she sings, but "Happier Than Ever" will knock your socks off. She IS the best songstress in the business today. She can sing anything in any genre.
Kelly is easily one of the best singers working today. She’s absolutely incredible. Her backup singer, arranger & vocal director Jessi Collins is also amazing. Their voices are so similar and they’re so in sync that it adds tremendously to these performances. But yeah, Kelly can literally sing anything and she keeps getting better. She works with a coach and refines her technique constantly. She & Pink are quite similar in terms of range, power, stamina and they sound amazing together as well. Kelly has one of the best voices of the past 20 years. Her songs are mostly pop/rock. She does powerful ballads like Because of You and more up-tempo ones like Since U Been Gone. Another vote for Piece By Piece live on American Idol finale (before they brought back the show on another network a few years later). It's a much better stripped down and emotional version of the single and deals with heartbreak of her dad and learning to cope later in life.

I just love this reaction. Your face when you slightly smirk and smile, showing a tiny bit of disbelief and approval at the same time. That is what I probably look like when I watch these performances. I love the 'bloody hell' remark, it is exacly what I was thinking when I saw that that high belted part for the 2nd and 3rd time.
She is probably one of the best pop / soul voices on the planet for quite some time. She can litterally sing anything and nearly everything comes out great, often better than the original.
To use an analogy: When most people sing, they are like a minivan or a medium sized family car, when Kelly sings, especially when she gives a little bit of gas, she is a fucking lamborghini.

I had never really paid much attention to KC, and I cynically rolled my eyes when she started her talk show few years ago. But I was happy to be proven wrong...she's a genuine and enthusiastic host.
And as you stated, when it could easily be kind of embarrassing or cringey, the Kellyoke segments are always amazing! You never know what she'll do next but you know it'll be impressive.
Again, I think it goes back to her genuine and enthusiastic nature....she loves music and it shows.
Also, she's a proud Texas girl who doesn't try to mask her accent, so that's probably where some of the hints of country come in.

She's one of the biggest pop stars and is known for having legit one of the best voices on the planet! Her vocal range is insane! You have to check out 7 Nation Army & Creep (Live). Also the Kellyoke full album version (not just the show version) of Happier Than Ever by Billie Eillish and Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead. In fact you may as well do them all, there isn't a bad one lol
If you wonder if Kelly can sing any genre or can cover any artist, watch “I Never Loved A Man” From a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Her tribute to Garth Brooks “The Dance” or tribute to Dolly Parton with “I Will Always Love You” goes to show how much confidence in her ability those in the business are to ask her to perform at the awards for these legends. I used to think she was pretty good in her younger years, but man, she is definitely at the top now.

Kelly isn’t confined to the box of a single genre & I love that about her! She is one of the best vocalists of our time & just in general. Her new album Chemistry is amazing & worth a listen. A few other specific suggestions: Sober (live from her recent Vegas residency), Meaning of Life (live Nashville Sessions), It’s Quiet Uptown (live at the Honda stage), Happier Than Ever (live from her recent Vegas residency), Mine (live stripped back version) & Merry Christmas To The One I Used To Know (live from Christmas special). Those are some of my favorite performances of hers & definitely some good ones to start down the rabbit hole with. She can literally sing anything!

I think one thing that makes her able to sing across so many different genres is the fact that she was classically trained in opera. She’s been able to take the foundation of great technique and not only apply it across the spectrum of music, but also keep her voice healthy over all these years.
Also, some of the Kellyoke performances from within just the last couple of months have been some of the best she’s ever done. So I highly recommend pretty much any of those.

When you do Piece by Piece, listen to the idol version first. She wrote that song while she was pregnant. It was her first time singing the song post-divorce and she changed the lyrics an hour before the show. Both are so powerful for the moments she was in.

She did a good version of The One That Got Away, a faithful cover of Love Takes Time, she also did a new rendition of 9 to 5 (as a duet with Dolly Parton), but to be honest, her voice is not only powerful but also very versatile, so she can sing practically anything and the result will be great.

I’m so glad you’ve “discovered” Kelly and her powerhouse voice. The Kellyokes are a great introduction, but hopefully you’ll check out some of her original music too. Songs like “Breakaway,” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” “Because of You,” “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Stronger” are early 2000s classics (along with the aforementioned “Since U Been Gone”). Her recent music may not be as buzzy as her earlier hits, but they showcase a maturity and artistry that may have been lacking a bit when she was just starting out. I’d also recommend checking out her viral “Piece by Piece” performance (I challenge you not to be moved by it!), her cover of “It’s Quiet Uptown” from “Hamilton,” and her current single “lighthouse.” Hope to see more Kelly on your channel!
She has several great albums, and her newest came out June of this year. There's not a bad song on it, but one of my favorites is lighthouse.
She has also done extraordinary performances on a few different award shows including The Billboard Music Awards 2018 and 2019.

Kelly is easily one of the best singers working today. She’s absolutely incredible. Her backup singer, arranger & vocal director Jessi Collins is also amazing. Their voices are so similar and they’re so in sync that it adds tremendously to these performances. But yeah, Kelly can literally sing anything and she keeps getting better. She works with a coach and refines her technique constantly. She & Pink are quite similar in terms of range, power, stamina and they sound amazing together as well. Kelly has one of the best voices of the past 20 years. Her songs are mostly pop/rock. She does powerful ballads like Because of You and more up-tempo ones like Since U Been Gone. Another vote for Piece By Piece live on American Idol finale (before they brought back the show on another network a few years later). It's a much better stripped down and emotional version of the single and deals with heartbreak of her dad and learning to cope later in life.
Kelly is the most versatile female vocalist out there right now. Keep searching her. She was the original idol for a reason. She can sing absolutely anything and mist times better than the original. I freaking love her and could listen to her 24/7

She has sold over 25 million albums, 45 million singles, has won 3 MTV Awards, 3 Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, 5 Daytime Emmy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol, has hits immediately and is the most successful artistically and in the industry (yes, Carrie nuderwood made the most money, but Kelly's rich now, too). She does pop-rock at the core, but she brings herself to classics, Christmas, she has country hits, too. She's Was a judge on the Voice US for quite a few years, but not currently. She just moved to NY with her talk show. Everybody loves her.
