Thank you very much for this thought-provoking and much-needed talk. Whether we have kids or not (or whether we're kids or not), we seek validation. We need to be reminded that we matter, that we're valued and appreciated, just as God do us.

At least you realize it and have the time and courage to do something..my dad died at 53 before he was able to ever see the man I became holes and all..!!
Yes, that is so hard when you don't get the apology and resolution you deserve. My hope is that we can become wounded healers, seeing our wounds, knowing the pain they cause, and then seeking to help others heal. We can strive to stop the cycle, by stopping wounding others and offering help to those who suffer.

And the saddest thing about this song is that she later found out he was cheating on her and it ended in a messy divorce. You now need to check out the revised version she now performs which is even more empowering.
I love her voice, but she breaks my heart on EVERY album a little bit (as her words bump into my own traumas). She is a powerhouse!
