Items I may or may not have used but should have:
    Mirror adhesive: amzn.to/34EUxqf
    Electrical Gang Box extender: amzn.to/2ReK9SQ
    Tool List:
    Cordless Drill: amzn.to/3wMYghe
    Drill/ Driver Combo: amzn.to/3pe83dP
In this DIY small bathroom remodel / renovation we did it in 3 days and under $750. Keep in mind this was a QUICK and EASY project. There were things missed. We will be doing an addition on our home this next year and redoing a lot of these things, all the walls, electrical items, and yes we'll be getting rid of the ugly door.
Some of the bigger stuff like the countertop, lights, faucet, and paint was from Lowes, some tools and electrical stuff from home Depot, and well odds and ends at Walmart.
*Colors: Valspar metropolis for the grey and blue kiss for the white.
Started by taking off and out everything except the toilet. Wife did the painting. I did a skim coat of drywall mud to take off the textured walls. Painted the cabinets and doors, got a new marble laminate countertop, added new 3 pc faucet, new vanity light fixture, new cabinet mirror. and we kept the trim, tile, toilet and shower.
This project took us 3 days and cost us about $700.
    Thanks for watching.

Tip: When removing a mirror like that, use duct tape in a cross cross pattern (#) across the mirror. That way when/if it breaks, the falling pieces are contained and don’t slice your arm in half. You were lucky in that whoever hung that mirror originally, did a terrible drop of glueing it which is why it came off so easily. Safety first!

When re-skimming over textured drywall , the best trick I ever learned, was to thin down drywall mud and apply to wall with a paint roller. Then use what is called a Magic trowel which is flexible and goes over the bumps easily. So much easier than all that sanding.

Also, I wouldn't recommend using the drywall anchors that come with the towel bar - they usually fail. I would use a toggler or toggle bolt that goes behind the drywall (if you can't be in a stud - which is the best!)

Fabulous! A few things - after mounting the sink, lay a washcloth over the drain hole to catch anything that might fall, like screws, while you’re working. It’s hard to do a good caulk job after the faucet is mounted. Water will collect most behind it, so it’s important to caulk first, then mount. Use teflon plumbers tape as much as you can on pipe threads - it will help make a great seal, and is removable.

Great job!! Not too much re-imagining required to improve the look. Best fix I thought was the light box and re-centering it.

Nice little project with great effect! Congratulations to you and your wife for a nice job! I recently intended to do a similarly easy remodel in my bathroom. I found broken tiles, rusted toilet bolts, rusted bathtub, bad drywall, poor insulation and now I am down to bare subfloor and studs as of today. - HA! My bathroom remodel project turned into complete renovation! But... I look at the bright side of life... it is also an opportunity for an elderly-friendly walk-in shower instead of the bath tub, heated floors, heated towel rack, water saving toilet flush, water saving hot water circulation pump, fancy bathroom lights and modern looking tiles. Starting a bathroom project might initially look like filling a rabbit hole with some dirt, but it might get you deep into it. Thanks for your informative video!

Next time you do a skim coat try mixing your mud with water till its like a pancake batter consistency. Then get a 1 1/2 in nap paint roller. Roll it on the wall in sections about 10ft at a time then use your 12 or 14" taping knife to skim it out. Or you can use a magic trowel or a knock down squeegee to smooth it out. It will save you a ton of time. The roller just gets it on the wall super fast. Also if you start skimming on the top and use a slight preasure with your finger on the bottom of the knife going in horizontal movements then just work your way to the bottom (if that makes sense) or you can even do from the bottom in virtical wifes keeping the preassure on the opposite side then work firm left to right. It keeps the knife from cutting in that little line in the product your trying to leave on the wall. Saves hours of sanding and cleaning up dust

Choosing colors, new vanity and light fixture. Piece of cake. Thank you. 👍😊

  • @ThePtlhome

Nice results!!! Looks great! But, one concern: whenever installing a mirror, if you use glue, it MUST be made for mirrors, as regular construction adhesive will break down the reflective paint on the mirror and the glue splotches will start to ghost through and be visible from the front. Or, even worse, if the painted reflective surface deteriorates enough, the mirror may just fall loose from the wall! - Very important to use mirror pacific glue!
