George Michael had one of the most beautiful and clear voices of all time. He pronounced every single word that he sang so there was never a misunderstanding as to what he was singing. He indeed had such a velvety powerful emotional and unique voice that you felt all of the lyrics and the arrangements. The ballads that he wrote and sang are killer. Many of them bring me to tears. He'll always be my favorite of all time.

THE master cover artist. Bar none. Have always referred to him as The King of Covers.
And his original songs are, without exception, peerless. Listening to GM is pure, unadulterated joy, even if he breaks your heart. What a voice.
GM was in a class by himself.
He had the best backup singers, many of whom had been with him since he went solo.

Mr. Modern Renaissance Man, I've never watched one of your reaction videos before. I clicked because this is one of George Michaels finest songs. full stop. I'm posting to let you know, that as a 59 yr old woman, and a professional singer, and an avid appreciator of fine music..... well, damn, my man! It made my heart grow three sizes when I watched George Michaels totally own you, heart mind body and soul, with this arrangement! ♫ THAT is why men like George Michaels, Freddie Mercury, countless others.... including myself.... to be able to see the look on someone's face, that YOU had on YOUR face.... THAT is why we do it! That we feel HONORED, ummm... there aren't words for the emotion we feel, as a musician... to look at a face like yours, hearing George's music...... MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT, and there is nothing on this planet that could compare. George would have been humbled to see how his music moved you. Outstanding!

I saw him at the O2 centre in London, he absolutely nailed it and had us up on our feet all night. Try watching his performance at Freddy Mercury‘s tribute concert where he faithfully sang to Freddy’s Somebody to love and still managed to make it his own, holding the audience in his hand just like his close friend. "Somebody To Love " from the
    Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert!
It was awesome. This song isn't
easy to sing, but he 'killed' it!
Apart of his great voice, he was an an amazing and gifted songwriter and producer!
He was 17 years old when he wrote "Careless Whisper", a # 1 hit all over the world. After the "Wham!" era, his songs became more and more demanding. He complained the grievances and injustices in the world. I think he had a lot to tell!

Sorely missed! Your recent Blue Eyed Soul reviews are great and George Michael is a perfect fit. His vocal range, delivery, and feeling come through when he sings and that's Soul. American R&B was very influential in British artists in the 80s. He was probably the biggest. Motown in particular Stevie Wonder was George Michael's guy. He did many Stevie Wonder covers live and recorded. That's due to the key and vocal range they were written in. For George it was a perfect match. Fortunately it was Stevie Wonder's platinum run in the 70s when he could do no wrong! Writing for himself and others. The Seal song "Killer" has always been a personal favorite and his ability to fuse the Temptations classic with it takes them to an entirely different level. Following the formula of Foreigner's "I Wanna Know What Love Is", he began to use the gospel choir vocals to strong effect. It also served as a bridge to take a Pop song to the R&B chart making the sales and popularity bigger. That's why people like Mariah Carey, Madonna, and others do it. George Michael had a natural gift. I was fortunate to see George Michael as a member of Wham and as a solo artist. Great shows everytime and this is proof!Much like the Bee Gees in the 70s George dominated the 80's R&B and pop charts globally! Right up there with Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna and sister Janet. Another Home Run MRM!

Ty, thank you for all you do for us.
What a great version to this Temptations’ Classic! The record / entertainment industry destroyed this man...a great loss.

Man That man could move. He always did. Did you also notice how he'd work his audience? Your right, his was partying. George Drew his audience with him, where everyone would party with him. (no one left out! )If you just went a little longer he sings LOVES IN NEED OF LOVE TODAY. a STEVIE WONDER SONG he doe's many of his cover songs. In fact, when he was quite young he appeared with Stevie at the Apollo. listen to what Stevie says about George, as he introduces him. It's fantastic! He sang that song many times in his career. Also, notice his band and backup singers, they were with him until he passed. (about 30 plus years) That tells you something, doesn't it' Do more concert reactions of George Michael. Your just going to love them. My suggestion for today would be, 25 LIVE. It's really awesome! ENJOY!

back in the early 90's,not ever being a fan of wham or george, always classic rock and classic soul for me,i worked his shows (security) at Wembley, and who'd have thought it,he was, ahem, quite brilliant, great showman, and the women in the audience were of the highest quality, thousands of babes everywhere you looked, but the show was superb and i became a fan after that. (haven't told my mates yet)
