    I 100% agree with you. I was mastering to -14 LUFS after I learned about Spotify's rules until a few months ago. Sometimes you just have to compete in the loudness war, depending on the song.

      Yeah! Their rules are a bit confusing, but to stay modern and competitive. stuff has to be really loud these days.

    Saying that everybody should over-compress their music because you do it and you like how it sounds is like saying "I like to burn my toast and some of my friends like their toast burnt - therefore I advice anyone that produces any type of bread or baked goods to burn theirs"

      I've stated numerous times that you don't have to master your tracks this loud if you want to take a different route. Most producers, however, are looking to get their tracks modern and competitive sounding, and love it or hate it, this is the way to accomplish that.

      You’re clearly a mastering engineer and know what you’re talking about.
      MakeTheMusic is absolutely right, and if you’ve tried this yourself you’d know that.
