      To be honest, the real incentive for me to battle is fetch quests, NPC, or forced battle, or different equipment and combo to try (e.g. skill tree, skill branches, equipment and loots). Exp by itself doesn't give any incentive at all, I think you are forgetting all the other things that complement the reason for exp system.

      An RPG is not an RPG without exp, levels, skills(usually), and some sort of battle system that lets you see character progress over time. This game isn't an RPG, and I wanted an RPG. Of course the battles are the most important part, take any amazing RPG out there and rip out the battle system, exp and level system, skill system, and put in a shitty puzzle mini-game instead and that game would now be trash. I guess it could still have a great story, but then I'm only willing to pay half price or less for half of a game or less. So sad they had to go and fuck up a great looking game like this. Hopefully Ghosts of Tsushima doesn't have eating competitions instead of sword combat...and hopefully Cyberpunk 77 isn't a Let's Dance clone at its heart. Like FFS how stupid can a studio be to make a battle system like this in a line of PURE RPG GAMES...the incompetence is staggering. Sorry if you like it, good for you, hope you enjoy the game, I know I wouldn't.

    9:22 Puzzles aren't solved by grouping the same types of enemies together. The only requirement is getting them into 1x4 or 2x2 arrangements. The actual enemy type doesn't matter at all, so your complaint about Sniffits/ShyGuys being similar from the back is pretty unimportant.
    In your own gameplay example, you got a "Perfect Lineup" which proves that mixing the two up doesn't matter (though they do have different HP)...

    • @GotShot22
      @GotShot22 Před 4 lety +1

      @Joel Johnson First off, if there doesn't need to be a purpose for the battles then why do them? If engaging enemies in battles does not reward me for defeating them then battling does not contribute anything to progressing in the game, period.
      Secondly, BOTW's and Odyssey's combat sequences are completely different than Paper Marios turn based combat sequences. In BOTW and Odyssey you are given the freedom to choose whether you want to fight enemies or not. In Origami king, Color Splash and Sticker Star you are drawn into an RPG-like, turn based battle sequence when engaging enemies that you have to either complete or try to run away.
      Finally, in BOTW fighting enemies is the *MAIN* way to get new weapons and gear. Fighting enemies rewarded you with weapons, shields and recipe ingredients. in Odyssey you are rewarded with coins for taking out enemies. Coins were used to revive you meaning the more coins you had, the more times you could be revived. And you could use coins to purchase outfits.

Or just watch someone else live stream it? I would get to see all the "good" the game has to offer and I wouldn't even need to pay for it. Which I think really does need to brought up more this is a $70+ dollar game and honestly does this game really feel worth the full price?
