    I was in the US Army, 19 Delta Cavscout June-October 2001. I got hurt, but the injury healed a month later, but they did also get me for respiratory problems which is listed as preexisting condition, a MED-200 discharge. You can only get benefits from VA if you got a MED-40 or were in the military for at least 2 years! So basically if you don't fulfill your Commitment they give you nothing. Sucks.

    • @Magginoodle
      @Magginoodle Před 3 lety +1

      The process can be confusing when it comes to applying for conditions and the appeals process. But to quickly explain to you and help you out, I will make it simple. When it comes to hearing aids, you are maxed out at 10%. But when it comes to your 2 service connected issues, what you don't realize is that you can get other issues to be connected as well because of those. Maybe other conditions are secondary or caused by or aggravated by your 2 conditions. Let's say you are connected for your right knee injury. But then you want to get your back connected because your knee is aggravating your back because knee injury can affect the back and so on. Also, recently the laws have changed and now pain is a condition that you can also get pain for, or get paid more for..... And if you ever run into any problems like you cannot get service connected for your injuries because there is no medical evidence of injury in your STR's, remember that you can have a Buddy statement or Lay Statement from lets say either someone in your previous unit that you served with write a written statement or your spouse that says they saw you get injured when the incident happened and say what happened included the pain they saw you experience and so on. But make sure they notarized it and put the proper language for the sworn statement in order to count. And if you do that, it will get service connected if you also have lets say medical records after the injury showing continuous attendance at the doctor. Like lets say you make a statement too that says since you got out you have been having continuous pain and inability to walk or whatever. And then you also submit your medical records at your lets say chiropractor for your back injury. If you do that, you can have all uour injuries service connected because you have risked your life for this country and its time we pay you back for your service and sacrifice..... I wish you good luck and if you ever have issues, file an appeal to the Board. That is as high as you can go after a HLR review of you submitting your 0996 form if that gets denied by a DRO. File your form 9 after the denial of your 0996 and trust me, you will get your issues connected. But please hang in there because that might take like a few years for Board Remands or Board Appeals....

    My husband passed away last June with recurring lung cancer and the doctors at the Va hospital kept telling us he was free from cancer after having half lung removed and when the doctor did the surgery he was going to take the wrong part already had started cutting on the wrong part. That is a shame and so much was done wrong during his final days it would take me a hour to write everything wrong they did but I get DIC not enough to live on and he died from agent orange causing the cancer I think I should be paid more.I would appreciate any assistance

    • @sarasizemore7349
      @sarasizemore7349 Před 3 lety

      Melissa, gather all paperwork - you have the right to request all hospital/doctor records, including any surgery he had. Make sure you get the official Dr. report - the one where the Dr. himself recorded/ made notes. If you have everything in hand, go to your local VA office and tell them all this, and then show them the proof. Also, all his service records - they will show all stations, and where he came in contact with Agent Orange - I think everyone on the ground came in contact with that , it was so widespread. BUT-bottom line here, okay? The VA will never pay anyone enough "to live on." And have a decent, comfortable life. Bad as it sounds, be thankful you're getting any amount. Good luck, blessings to you.

      That's a great question, Allan. Also if you are awarded a rating, it will all be retroactive payment. That being said, I’m sure a good deal of cash at once would be nice to help you get back on your feet. So go do something about it and go get your money and turn your life around brother

      I'm in Marion Courty Florida. Ocala, FL.
      I've been to the VA clinic here and I have an appointment on the 8th of July. I've already had one vets fighting for vets Agency steal my whole medical record in Savannah so I came down here where I heard the VA is a lot better at helping us.
      I went to an office today called Vets helping Vets. And made an appointment for Monday at 9am to file a claim. Is the anything you think I should know MR Eric Lou?
      Thx for your help.

      Thx, I sure hope so. Different Veteran help places have scared me away for almost 20 yrs. I've just battled with the pain.
      Plz read my reply to Eric Lou. Any assistance would greatly appreciated.
      Thank you.

    Have been on SSDI since age 43 and am now 58 years old. I have been fighting VA for over 20 years and all I have to show for it is 20% for a right ankle. I have 30% on 3 separate items shown in “pension” which is useless to me as combined income is too high. I have a diagnosis on my SSDI Statement of bipolar disorder, back injuries, and ptsd all from military service however VA has done nothing but deny. What should I do and can you help? I’m at my wits end.

      I am very sorry to hear that. Do you have an open claim with the VA? If so, please feel free to give us a call at 386-257-2100 to see if we may be able to assist. Thank you!

      Sounds eerily similar to my fight with VA, was finally able to sc my left ankle 10% after 27 years, nsaid use to cope with pain led to stage 3 chronic kidney disease secondary to ankle 80% sc added osa at 50%, migraine 50% and combat ptsd 100% P&T with SMC-s all in last 9 months. Educate yourself and never give up!

      @Mister Miggs Tried that. Several times. Never called me back. Just like WW2, Vietnam, and Korea Vets will have to wait 20 or 30 years before we see anything from DS/OIF/OEF/HOA. 10 tours and lots broken things would seem like enough. Thanks for responding. Be Safe.
