Yes it’s a different story. Some similarities but different and excellent story. If I remember right the Butchers Boy continues with Sleeping Dogs, The Informant and then Eddie’s Boy. I really enjoy all of Perry’s books
This trailer already looks better than the book... which as you must admit, for Thomas Perry, had a lot of flaws and baggage that needed to be cleaned up.
Jeff Bridges is perfect for this part, grumpy, honest, loving, but when he speaks you believe everything , also the writing of the scripts are very good, best series on the TV at the moment 👊🏼

those dogs are bad asses, they saved him twice, when he was driven away by the FBI dude, they kept on running far behind that suv until hr was able to kick the guy and make him crash, oh boy, the FBI guy looked up and there they were, one in front of his face, the other tight by his balls, bad situation for him. I didn't know he had cancer? you know that so many hollywood actors had cancer in the past? I wonder if there is something causing it on their movies?
I’m in the middle of episode four, and I think this is already one of the best shows I have ever seen. The writing is unmatched, it has a similar feel to season one of True Detective, yet, and I can’t believe I’m going to say this, I think it’s even better.

This is a terrific series and the old man character isn't your typical curmudgeon. Wonderful cast and acting. Think of it, Bridges has been acting since his father's Sea Hunt show, which I watched in reruns as a kid. So many great roles later.
This is a series that snuck up on me. I heard about this one from someone while discussing the Terminal List which is a great novel & book series, & a good show in its own right, but this, this is amazing TV. I have akways loved Lithgow since Harry & the Henderson's as a kid & later Raising Cain & more recently 3rd Rock & Dexter. I also have grown up with Jeff Bridges as Tron was one of the first movies I recall watching on VHS at home. I am only two episodes in & I am battling with not binging the remaining three as it is so good as they develop the characters & unravel the story. There just isn't a good stopping point & I am thankful & tempted that I don't have to wait a week for the next episode. This is a must watch & one my wife & I will both enjoy.

Jeff Bridges. What can you say about this great actor???? He pulled of the impossible by making the film "True Grit" as good if not better than the original. Since then he has made some really great but under appreciated films(Hell or High water for one). This looks like it will join that list.
Two of my favorite films. True Grit and Hell or High Water. He has definitely gotten better with age! The Fabulous Baker Boys was good too, with his "up-tight" (character played) brother Beau.

Jeff Bridges. What can you say about this great actor???? He pulled of the impossible by making the film "True Grit" as good if not better than the original. Since then he has made some really great but under appreciated films(Hell or High water for one). This looks like it will join that list.
Two of my favorite films. True Grit and Hell or High Water. He has definitely gotten better with age! The Fabulous Baker Boys was good too, with his "up-tight" (character played) brother Beau.
Love this show!! Jeff Bridges is so bad ass and I love the dogs but I get so worried that something is gonna happen to one of them. Just an awesome show!!

I stood next to him at a Wendy's in N Bend Wa (many years ago) when he shot the movie where the girl is buried - if I had known he was going to do this I would have stopped him :)
