    I agree about the younger actors. Some of the best casting I've seen for flashbacks.

    Having watched it all from start to finish, I found the plot to be flimsy and ridiculous at best. Yes, it was good acting and yes, it was a thriller but looking at the the show as a whole I found myself asking what was it all about? And there will be a season two to follow? I really don't think I'll bother watching that. I like my films & tv drama to have some semblance of logic and reason to it all. Around the middle of the episodes onwards I was getting somewhat bored with the dialogue, so I kept pausing to make cups of tea, not something I would normally do during an intense programme. The fact that this video has been put up in order to explain what happened says it all. So, my thanks to the poster.

    Thanx for the breakdown , one thing bothering me was how does Hamzad still have so much influence over U.S government at present day? besides some plot holes the show is well acted , crafted and combined with some intriguing dialogue exchanges. DO you know anything regarding this getting a Season 2?

    • @BenjaTV
      @BenjaTV  Před rokem +2

      Season two has already been confirmed. As for Hamzad's influence on the US government, it was probably an up-and-down process and he needed 30 years to attain enough power to go after his daughter. Afghanistan has remained a point of interest during that time and it's to be expected for the US government to capitulate to Hamzad's personal demands (albeit behind the scenes) if they perceive Hamzad to be more willing to work with the US compared to other powerful men in the area.

  • @LetBBB6345789
    @LetBBB6345789 Před rokem +1

    So disappointed (because it seemed to be well thought out at first).
    Starts out so seemingly clever and mysterious. Made sense that in a spy / agency story there are layers of secrets and motives, not all clear.
    But it seems stupid that all the characters are made out to be super powerful and politically clever when ultimately it's personal and stupidly so at that.
    If the series is not to fall apart like a house of cards, I hope they explain why a fragile old Afghan war lord seems to be telling the CIA and FBI what to do as well be famed for getting everything he wants. I cannot see any scenario where anything in Afghanistan was ever so important that it would give someone there pull over US federal and intelligence agencies top players, plus Marocco secret service.
    Plus why ant of it happens now, why lousy assassins were sent after Chase, why Zoe (from softie to sudden badass) totally forgets about her son, why Harper forgets about the rest of his family (while happily talking about his legacy), why Chase was SO bent on helping Hamzad personally when the US didn't care and he abandoned him easily when it was convenient for the plot.
    And why does CIA agent Raymond Waters claim to basically work for Hamzad (strange enough for a CIA agent to say) and to be in contact with him but then this is entirely forgotten and he becomes fully CIA lapdog, then out of the blue falling for the daughter, that he kidnapped and that only slept since, then defend her against Hamzad and the CIA (in his mind).
    And why was Emily losing her shit at the mention of Hamzad when she worked for years undercover and as an agent in a political position. First time someone pressed her buttons in her career?
    And why did Chase make Zoe practically his wife. He lived a life of charades, meets this woman by chance and in order to give her some compensation, he is making her his wife?
    Also, situation here described at minute 21:13 Neither Emily nor viewer know what issue the US government has with Harper (if whatever is revealed) so how how can she say they can spin this after Hamzad is dead, why and how should that work and why does that convince Harper?
    Here and until end of season, what Hamzad's relation to the US government is, what strings he is pulling there and what Harper did that compromises him (that he sent Hamzad's weapons in the past to fight Russians? Unlikely to be a big deal or something would complain about. That he got Hamzad's wife out? The US government would impair their FBI Associate Director over that?) Speaking of which, what does the FBI have to do with anything in Afghanistan? Or was CIA and became Deputy Director of the FBI? What difficult stuff did Emily go throiyugh at the FBIand for Harper but let her be a researcher on his team and rookie otherwise it seems
