They taught American fighter pilots in the pacific to dive when they were chased by the Japanese, an F6F could often recover from a high speed dive, while in a zero, it would be near impossible to manuver at such speeds

Finally a plane animation, this is amazing, also i never knew that the raiden’s max speed is this high, i always thought Japanese planes were and is very well known for making planes with ‘paper’(i know it’s wood but it’s so weak it feels like paper).
Except their later planes werent wood. The whole myth of japanese wood planes was only from a few outliers and the combustibility of japanese fuel tanks that lack self sealing capability and armor.
Most Japanese planes of WW2 weren't wood actually, the famous Zero for example was all-metal, though certain parts of its duralumin skin was so thin you could poke holes in it with a finger.
This sort of thing was also common in WW1 fighter planes. I think it was the Sopwith Camel that was notorious for having the top wing peel off during high-speed turns.

What gets me for some reason is just how well you portray the style and clothing with the characters of the plan or takes originating building place. With the J2M5 having a full japense styled hair with their cultural pinning to keep it up. While the PF had move cut flowing hair in a more European style. Such beautiful detail it gets me every time ^^
J2M series is just awesome and gives something different to japanese air tree imo (almost all japanese planes are getting uptiered in the next changes btw)

I love the 30mm J2M5. It flies like the tech tree M5 but with better MM and even though the ammo load sucks, the guns are so easy to shoot with and hit like trucks.
