Yeah, World's immersion is so damn good. Like you can just stalk a monster and watch it go about it's day like you're doing a nature documentary.
Most importantly, binoculars actually became useful
They should give us a Croc Hunter outfit for us in this game
but thing that sucks is you can't do the opposite...I know it sounds silly but with as immersive of a world as this is...why can't they just do a "play as monster" choice for those who really want it, make it even more immersive (and piss off the "but duh PATTERNS" people)

And then condemn the game if it doesmt suit him
Dude was so painful to watch in mhw. I couldn't do it. He just spammed auto attack and utilized 0 of his moveset, items, tools, gadgets or environment traps ever. It drove me fuckin nuts. It's like buying a fighting game and trying to beat it by only pressing square. Eventually it may work, if you get lucky. That's how it felt watching him hunt in hr+
I think the best thing Capcom could do is bring back “The handler” and then in the opening scene you meet up with her, she does her “hey partner!” shit, and then a monster comes in and just eats her. I think it’s a billion dollar idea and I think the entire community would cheer!
Before I finished reading this comment I thought you were crazy wanting to bring that trash of a partner back. Thanks for being better than that.
I dont mind handler being return as long she can support us with HH on wilds
@@yoshinoaki6614 she could also support us mentally by dying, give us the drive for revenge or something lol
@@jonesyjones7815 tbh capcom planning the Handlers can be support during hunt but they didn’t do it in world system so yeah in rise a follower’s system capcom made it
We will see on wilds possibly having our handlers to be follower support system or as from players guild card becoming follower system
If uk back in world if u meet other players palicos u can gather befriend around joining hunt with u
The thing is the micro transactions minus making people pay to re edit their characters, where only for weapons charms and items to put in your room. They didn't start selling armor and weapons skins till MHrise. And that pissed the community off.
People noticed that the quality of event armor and weapons go down.
From what I can tell their non numbered MH games are kinda a supplement/experiment for the company while they work on the main games.
True.
Gonna be honest I have like 60 hours in Rise so far and never even knew there were microtransactions.
@@alexzanderroberts995 This was true until MHW and Iceborne where they also did experimentation. Rise+Sunbreak really do feel like "time wasters" until the main course arrives though. DD2 also feels like a "time waster" they forced out early too.

i think it would be cool if the Hub was in the same instance as the Zones. so you get your buddies go on a hunt, one buddy gets the part for his weapon so he runs back to the hub to quickly make it while the rest of the party moves to the next monster. like if they could do this with some cleaver hiding of loading to appear seamless would be a cool vibe.

Can you imagine going seamlessly from the great jungle to the tower, or from the desert they show in trailer to marsh or canyon/gorge. Also I'd love if they increase the size of older maps, so we can finally go to previously unexplorable parts, like traversing through that river in area 1 of forest & hills, going to that lake in the distance of sandy plains, or going even deeper in the sunken hollow or jurassic frontier.
I just hope they add the so tasty back in tbh
Let’s not forget dd2 had like 350 developers, compared to other capcom games that get well over 1000, so even if it’s on re engine, there will be a lot more people to help clean it up and optimize it
I agree with what he said about it potentially being open world, as long as it's not taking away from their ability and time to correctly program the rest of the game to be good
You have tackle in dd1 but it used a skill slot, and it was such a good skill everyone should be using it :P
Omg for the 10th time it's not an animation cancel, it's a combo. There's no "skill" required to pull it off apart from actually reading your abilities in the menu, why is that so hard to get for him?
I think that’s what he’s saying man. He’s basically saying it feels “tacked on” and not something inherent to the greatsword weapon. Feels fake and weird
The main Performance problem in DD2 is how much cpu power it needs for all the unique npcs, which shouldn´t be a problem in MH. There shouldn´t be more than 4 Hunters + 4 buddys.
The second problem is that the Reach Engine isn´t made for Openworld, but it still works with DD2
Replace npcs with monsters and we might have the same issue if not fixed already
I really hope there are good traversal options, especially with how massive these levels are becoming.
I've been spoiled by wirebugs in MH Rise and honestly I don't know if I can go back now; it saved the game for me. I can't imagine trudging around these levels solely on foot or mount, and absolutely not if they bring back the verticality in level design.
Wildhearts had an awesome camp setup. You could set them up practically anywhere onnthe map.
After playing Dragon's Dogma 2 I kept thinking how great an open world Monster Hunter game would be. Just seeing large monsters in the distance was so cool in DD2, imagine seeing all different kinds in an open world MH game.
We kinda already see that in world if you want to count watching the flying Wyverns fly away and go somewhere else😂. Like Rathalos in the ancient forest
@@alexandersveryown4760which is exactly why I'm unsure of open world for this game LoL imagine running across a gigantic map just to have a monster fly back to where you were once you're halfway to it.
Played DD2 as well and loved it… but MH is different and should be different than DD.
I hope there won’t be an open world, this would destroy the origin of MH. Us veterans who are playing since the first game don’t want all these flora, fauna, environmental and searching for monster traces features… this shit is unnecessary. We want our G-Rank/Master-Rank with a high difficulty spike and speedrun these without taking a hit.
Fast in and out missions which don’t require searching a huge map for a monster. This surely is fun for the first 2-3 times, but gets heavily annoying later on.
My prediction is that the Bowgun on the mount is either decoration or there is some kind of mounted combat mechanic that they won't showcase.
I think it might be a 2nd portable weapon so you can switch between out in the field so instead of having to go all the way back to camp you can just switch maybe maybe its an entire set switch so you can have like a ranged set and your blademaster set
right, what confuses me is that you need a whole different set of armour to wield the bowgun compared to the greatsword, yet we clearly don't see another set of armour on the mount. Maybe they're unifying armours in general (highly unlikely)?
The gun holster is not an lbg, on their previous lore art it is just something to capture small critters.
Something i see constantly talked about is the clutch claw. Big thing i have to complain about with it is that is DLC exclusive. A now main game balace item is exclusively unlocked by a DLC. Idk if that is something we should overlook.
I hope the gimmick they go with for Wilds is literally just the new open world features and mount. I think the skill system from Rise will also make a return in some form without wirebugs obviously.
Nope, the main series is basic, the games in between have the special fighting styles and hunter arts.
@@esca_nor3846 I realize that but still think it's coming to main line. Remember the B team games are meant for experimentation to see what works. The scroll system in Rise was over the top but worked very well compared to other attempts like hunting styles and there are so many moves they've created now for each weapon type such as the downward dive for IG. If they don't reimplement them via skills then I think basic weapon movesets will get an upgrade.
@@esca_nor3846 it wouldn't be that weird to implement Rise's switch skill system, it just adds more ways to play the same weapon, it's an overall positive it doesn't effect the speed of combat
@@Dorito_DjinnHaha. Skill types have always been a secondary game feature and has never been in a main game. Frontier had it first in Gen 2. Then GU had it in Gen 4. And oh look rise had it in Gen 5. wilds wont have it.

Every mh game feels like it was made by skilled veteran devs and very unexperienced newbies at the same time lol. A truly unique franchise
they have 2 decades worth of information, so that helps alot
Not having animations for sheathing weapons would mean you are in combat mode most of the time which is bad. It’s part of the design. It’s even an upgrade to sheath faster because having the decision of when to sheath to do actions that you can only do while sheathed is part of the gameplay. It’s fun having to consider what your next actions are. True games like Elden Ring don’t have sheathing actions and you still get the negative of being in an animation like healing, but sheathing adds another layer of decision making that I enjoy.
I've always liked the idea of them combining open world and survival with Monster Hunter. Imagine being able to choose where you want your hunter camp. And making your camp out of monster parts
I hope they bring back more survival simulation bits. The older games has more than world and I missed that in world
If it’s open world I think we’ll be able to take quests from wherever camps are so we don’t need to go back to base every time we want to start a new quest
You already could do that in World if you were in an expedition. You just couldn't join quests from others.
If you try to get the rare Witcher III creature Nekkar as pet, you are supposed to follow Great Jagras around watch him eat the herbivore monster then goes back their hideout regurgitate the meat out for the small Jagras to eat.. and Nekkar will come out to feed on it if it is at night, in the forest map.
It's pretty wild how there are amazing Monster Hunter games being pumped out like every year, and Nintendo & Gamefreak are struggling to put out 1 Pokemon puny mid game every year and failing to do so properly.
About the monster density topic, what if their are different paths. Like paths that people take, and theres low encounter rates along them. And then monster paths, like migratory paths they take, or for predators, their territories. Further away from human paths have higher encounter rates
Fun fact, Capcom's "RE Engine" doesn't mean Resident Evil engine. I believe it's "Reach for the Moon" Engine for some reason.
Also I feel like we maybe shouldn't compare DD2 and MH that much. Only since DD2 is made by the DMC5 devs. Monster Hunter has always had a dedicated "MH dev team". Other than the DD2 large monster animations and behaviors obviously.
Not to mention MH is capcom's current golden goose. They wouldn't risk that much with it.
I'm gonna buy it either way. Been playing MH series since Freedom and most of the times it was fun playing especially with friends with the only dislikes I had was something like the weapon designs in worlds wich were quite lacking and for Rise the map were not as good as in worlds but that's just my opinion and did not stopped me from playing it for 100+ hours for it's prices. I go with 0 expectation but lots of hope of beating monsters with good old hammer. I just hope they kinda add air fights or underwater fights again or at least get my boi Jhen back.
Unlike some other AAA games from big companies this one I can always jump in without being an absolute let down of a clown show.
If they make better water movement, then I have no problem with re-adding water fights
3 Ultimate, 4 Ultimate and generations ultimate were peak. Rise is fine as well, but Wilds will be like World and I didn’t really liked the game that much.
Especially due to the heavily annoying features like tracking down monsters and searching for traces, having to watch every single cut sequence in the game on your own and then join your made afterwards etc.
I played MH Worlds on a 1060 and I was blown away.... that early larva boss and cutscenes are great.... it is still pleasure to play graphically.
My bro and I come back to Monster Hunter World again and again. Iceborne also added on like twice as much content so the game doubles in size. Such a great game and the monster models and animations are peak gaming quality. Gameplay is stupid fun too.
I might be to busy playin this game to watch u play it fuck it's gonna be great future content Hope to see you all out there Boys
Anyone remember when asmon played cyberpunk, said it was one of the best games he was playing, then just stopped? I remember
Pepperidge Farms remembers
Monster density in DD2 is fine. But in Battahl, that's a completely different story. It is actually every corner you turn, its like to make up for the second region being only like almost half of the first region, they fill it with monsters. Especially with the smaller enemy variety, it gets tiring extremely fast. 12:25.
There are skills that can make you put your weapon away faster, so there are even ways to work around it. Essentially all the things that you could have a problem with like drinking potions, sharpening, sheathing, being stun locked, etc etc, can all be better with skills.
As the game mechanics intended
The part I want to know about the game is how we get decorations for armor vs charms.
Yes and will we be able to streamline searching for them in menus? Hopefully alphabetically at least!
When I bought Monster Hunter World on release for PS4 I do not remember seeing any pushed microtransactions on my home screen at all.
That's because there weren't any
@@camerontripp1546 Ah, then i don't appreciate Asmon gaslighting us into thinking its normal for all MH games to come with hard DLC pushes.
It will be the same like it always has been with Capcom.
You will get the main game and 1 year later a DLC with as much content as the main game has. This will usually be our G-Rank/Master-Rank.
You can buy additional layered armor, gestures or a skin for your guild maid as microtransactions which absolutely no one ever needs and only people who really want to actually buy.
Every single event quests will be free and you will get a lot stuff for free after the game gets older. Just to boost your start if you want to start all over again.
I believe that their will be sub biomes in between the major ones that will be home to some monster that will move from the two main ones throughout the day cycle as they hunt and drink
to me it always felt like open world was the goal from the beginning, but now the technology is finally able to keep up.
Brute Tigrex is your parents fighting when you were a kid....prepare for the yelling
Holy shit, this is crazy. I am suddenly super excited. I will say that I also don't mind it being not fully open world, because it is so open in just playing anyway.
I will play this no matter what but as an older MH fan I would love to see water hunts again, nothing like just swimming around and then a Lagi comes out of nowhere and pushes your shit in lol
I tried MHW back in like 2020 and didn't understand it. Then I went back to it and now I love it
Wilds is my most anticipated upcoming game, been playing monster hunter since ps2 and psp

I came across a dead cockatrice in DD2, would have been cool to see a living one.
Just saw a vid of the arisen bring seceral women to sphinx at the lover request. Called you basically a sloot. Give the loot. Then the women started slapping each others
There will be a base game then a huge expansion too
i like the clutchclaw design.. i use it and its a fun playstyle since i dnt get knocked off and use holly wivern blade rn.. my damage isnt the heavy sword but woth clutching its more potential
Complete the game 100% ×10 times = 1000% 👍
Use Quick Sheathe lvl 3 to get out of sheathe animation lock. Especially on Great Sword, its one of the slowest sheathes
I mean, compared to Gunlance and HBG it's not really that slow.
@jsfiii1212 yeah but asmon used GS his whole playthrough, so that's what I'm referring to
I think having an open world would be more aesthetic seeing the transition between biomes
Can't wait until he is over 9000% going to play it
Just because MH Rise has lesser graphics fidelity and different art style than MH World, it does not equal "bad." I've seen many youtubers saying this and it is not correct. MH Rise has problems, but graphics is not one of them.
The majority of complaints were about how overly streamlined the game was, and that it resembled a hack and slash rather than methodical combat. The crappy graphics was just salt in the wound.
@@CuriosityMisledMe Graphics are not crappy either, on the contrary, they look great for being on the Switch. Perspective is important.
@@Strider-Ragnarok The textures are basic, the colours are bland, the saturation is too low for some things and too high for others. It’s an absolute visual dumpster.
Rise on PC looks fine for me, I don't have a problem with how the game looks
Agreed some people focus too much on graphics
@Asmongold
I think you're right about open world not benefitting the game and it could take away from it if they sacrifice gameplay for it, but...
the original vision for MHW was to be one giant connected map but they couldn't do it because hardware constraints, I mean look at the connecting areas in the wilds pure waste and the forest, there's a very natural path that splits from pure forest to a desert, because it does into a lot of desert vegetation surrounded by water as you start but the further away yulou go from water, the more arid and desert-like it becomes. Same between the corel highlands and the dead zone(I forget wtf it's called).
The guiding lands was to small to facilitate all 6 biomes naturally and seamlessly and felt like a video game level, but if we get the 5-6 maps from MHW just with no load times between them, that may enhance the gameplay if it's a seamless integration.
ive played every monster hunter, always wished it was mainstream since the beginning and glad that the series is getting so much recognition now
Currently playing dd2. The graphics are amazing to me. I’m playing on variable frame rate with ray tracing on and motion blur off. It’s just awesome looking. I see the frame drops but they don’t matter to me when the game looks and plays so good. All games should look like this. And honestly I’d take a hit to the detail or scale to get a little more stability in frame rate. But it’s whatever. It’s amazing. If you disagree that’s fine. But I can’t really see why. It’s just good. Period.
I wished the dragons in DD 2 would have similar attacks to the dragon-like creatures in Monster Hunter. DD 2's dragons seemed a bit tamed compared to how ferocious the monsters are in Monster Hunter.

Rise was a great introduction to the monster hunter franchise. I have so many friends that I got to play world by simply starting them with rise because it's a lot easier to digest. Will definitely be picking up wilds
Rise is what "normies" expect monster hunter to be, an action game like DMC, unlike normal monster which is a slow action-rpg
@wafflinxes5224 eh I don't like the way you phrased it but I agree that rise is a the furthest from mh the series ever went
@@thesupreme8062The phrasing isn’t necessarily wrong. The average new player that’s joined through hype will assume the newest instalment to be the norm.
Biggest monster hunter has to be bigger than generations... and be thats is hard, i am skeptical about
I really wanna be able to like traverse the lands, and then go find a hub village out in the wild, and be able to see it from the hunting grounds and then be ablw to interact with it.
I don't want it to be seemless like BOTW, but I do want it to strike a goldenlock zone between zoning and immersion
Grate to hear Asmon i hope u finish world by beating Fatalis love ur streams

I wanna say that God Eater was also kind of a anime version of Monster Hunter, like how Code Vein is pretty much an anime version of Dark Souls.
I feel like the guiding lands was the testing grounds for what wilds is potentially going to be, course wilds if true will be on a much larger scale so i dont think itll have that instant change of environment it’s gonna be better i can definitely see it being
If it is to be open world or at least as big as i think a main hope is that we’ll have multiple quests we can do
Ty for opinion on this, I'm about to make switch to Pc gaming with controller from Ps5 I wasn't sure what game to start with, but I've kept track of you % on playing this catalog and at 1000% ill move this to top looks great.
Just so Asmon knows (and for those who don't know): CAPCOM is not a monolith. There are various divisions that have been changing around the years. But basically there are like 3 divisions: Fighting Games, Monster Hunter, and Resident Evil and the rest of games.
And inside this divisions may be different teams. So even if they share engines, or even models and animations, unless a game is from the same series, you shouldn't expect experience to translate from one division to another.
So Dragon's Dogma 2 having less enemy variety than Monster Hunter can be perfectly possible, because it's not CAPCOM as an entity, because we are talking very different divisions.
Even though Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter share the same original project, in which one went the traditional fantasy RPG route, and the other one tried to create a believable ecosystem; they ended up in different divisions.
All i want is for my boy Lagiacrus to come back.
Please no.... That would mean they probably bring back underwater play again.... Please no
please shut up. We do NOT need underwater combat.
@@nateshepardson1204I'd actually like to try it. Most games have underwater combat disliked by 90+% of players, but Monster Hunter seems to have a 50/50 split on it. While I hope them bringing it back would also smooth out any problems there may have been, a unique split like that makes me curious about even the old version. If only it was on PC.
@@marmyeater it would need a massive overhaul. It was slow and painful, and certain areas could only be reached by swimming underwater and it took forever....
@nateshepardson1204 Lagiacrus had a lot of land mechanics though too. I don't want to see underwater combat come back but I don't think they would need to to bring it back.
I'm 95% sure they won't remove weapon sharpening. They already modernized it by giving you infinite whetstones. In the original, you only got a max of 20 and had to maintain your inventory.
Yeah... so about that opening statement. There is a massive difference between playing games that are start and stop. And games that are more of a continuous stream. It's incredibly hard for me to binge through games like Nioh 2, because there are always defined stopping points. An issue you don't have with bonfires, lanterns or campfires. Also that feeling of being a world that feels disconnected, for me personally, it can break momentum. One of the few series, I ignore this feeling for is MH, because the quality level is just that high.
Monster Hunter saved my life , literally took me out of a depressive period with how fun and engaging it was 😅
Monster hunter games on portable consoles (ie rise on the switch) have always been their way of experimenting and adding new and crazy things into the series. The mainline franchise (world) has always been the more grounded more liked version. Rise isn’t a bad game and the people saying it’s for babies have have no idea what they’re talking about and most likely have never touched another MH game other than world. Rise is good in its own regard. World is amazing, stop the hate and just play both games.
Agree, I had good time with rise but couldn’t get over the visual downgrade and how to put it, lack of immersion? The combat in rise is faster and as MH noob, it’s more challenging, at least for me. Very good game nonetheless.

@@italianspiderman5012 I’m not really a graphics person. My only probably with rise was it being TOO streamlined, but the gameplay was overall incredibly satisfying. Lance in world via lance in rise is a world of difference. I felt there was a lot more build diversity in rise as well.
I really like Rise.
I played a bit of World, lost interest for years, then decided to try Rise. The streamlined gameplay and design and fun traversal finally made MH click.
After reaching Sunbreak DLC I decided to go back and finish World. Ended up finishing the game and then finishing Iceborne. Still haven't killed the final endgame dragons yet.
Turns out, I like World more. But Rise is great. I'm still going to finish it. The wirebugs may make combat a little too easy, but the fun factor of them is worth it in my opinion. It's nice to have a more pocket sized streamlined MH.
if is true that the game is planned for release in q1 then they will most likely release a demo over the summer and another closer to the release like they did with world so we will able to see how the game will perform. I do hope they add cross save and cross play for the game.
Seeing how capcom does things, x-play is very unlikely, sadly. X-save is rather possible, seeing we already had save transfers between games and even between consoles
I still need to try this game.
This hype mentality only generates broken expectations. people don't learn.
Possibly but Capcom has never disappointed with a monster hunter game so far
This game will inevitably change his life. Can't wait for that!
One of the things I want for Wilds is to have an actual pause button. That was one of my only gripes with World.
I absolutely feel u on the DD2 monster density being tiresome after a while. But honestly I don’t think it’ll be as bad in MHWilds due to the fact that a lot of monsters are nonaggressive. So it’ll be densely populated, but u won’t have to square up CONSTANTLY
I just hope they remove camp restocking but don't remove the camp entirely, I like the ability to change builds mid-hunt and the cantine there. Also bring back sub-quests
Annoyingly the bounty system replacement doesn’t even function the same as sub quests. The main point in doing them was to get extra materials from the monster in that quest, or to get extra supplies mid hunt.
Would be cool seeing a modernised version of sub quest supplies. Have an airship pass overhead and drop a tarp of supplies nearby.
I feel like many people who started with World don’t realize that Rise released on switch because of how MH games are released. They always have their mainline flagship on consoles, then they release a new portable game of the same generation where they often experiment with features more.
